Braves Heyward for Homerun Derby

by Chris Padgett on Jun.03, 2010, under Favorite Blog

I hope the Atlanta Braves rookie right-fielder Jason Heyward or the “Say Hey Kid” will get to be one of the NL sluggers in the Homerun Derby. I like watching the home run derby during the All Star Break. I think it will be on the 2nd Tuesday in July for the All Star Game. The Home Run Derby usually takes place on the Monday before the Tuesday All Star Game. The Atlanta Braves are in first place right now, so that should help to draw attention to Jason Heyward. I believe his smooth and easy stroke would be perfect for a home run derby event.

Jason started off hitting 6th for the Braves. He is currently hitting in the 2 hole or 2nd in the line-up. His hot bat has cooled down in recent games, but he’s still hitting the ball hard. He has just missed on about 5 homerun balls in the last few days. Heyward and the Braves are now traveling out to Los Angeles to face the LA Dodgers. I look for the Say Hey Kid to rock 1 or 2 out of Dodger Stadium this weekend. It will be a 4 game series and it should be interesting to see if the Braves can keep their 8 game winning streak alive against the Dodgers. It’s gonna be a tough road trip for Jason Heyward and the Atlanta Braves. Let’s just hope the Braves and Heyward look good in California, so the Braves can pick up a few more All Star votes for the players that are deserving on their roster right now. I really hope Jason Heyward gets his chance in the 2010 Home Run Derby; which will be in Anaheim this year.

My Favorite Free Online Games

by Chris Padgett on May.22, 2010, under Favorite Poker Games

I have a lot of free online games I like to play. Gamers have a lot to choose from these days, so it’s hard to just pick one free online game that is your favorite. I recently started playing this free online game Ninja Dive. It’s a pretty cool game and one you should try, if you never played it before. I won’t give away any of the surprises or how you play this free game, but you should “dive” in (pun intended) and play Ninja Dive online. Its just one of the 1000′s and 1000′s of games available online you can play for no cost.

The video games you have to pay for these days is getting a little too expensive. I have seen video games selling online for 100 dollars or more. I can’t afford to pay for video games like this. I know some of the newer games like Singularity and Heavy Rain are very popular, but you really have to love your video games to want to play them. Since they do cost more than the video games we were buying in the 1990′s. I don’t think some people know about the free video games online and how they can play thousands of these for absolutely no cost.

I know parents get scared sometimes; when they see some of these new video games coming out for their kids. Mom and Dad don’t have to look hard online for suitable games for the younger kids. The Free Kid Games Online are very tame and no parent in the world would mind letting their children play these games. You just have to search for the ones that are right for them. I know parents want to stay away from a lot of the action games that involve shooting or show blood in the graphics. The folks that design these free online games know this and that’s why they created a ton of free kid games online for all ages.

Playing games online is a good way to relax too. If you can get involved in a good video game, it’s just like a book or movie you get interested in. Once a game grabs your attention, you want to continue, so you can see what’s next. I think we all want to see what the next level looks like or we want to beat our high score, so we keep playing the game, only to see it keeps going and going. It is a lot like the Energizer Bunny that likes to keeping going and going. Now that I have video games on the brain, I believe I will go find a good one to go play. I guess I will go back and play that Ninja game some more.

Maurice Cheeks for the New Atlanta Hawks Head Coach

by Chris Padgett on May.15, 2010, under Blogging

Let’s start to get happy in Atlanta. Our two biggest problems don’t seem like a problem at all right now. Joe Johnson is on the way out and that’s good news! Mike Woodson lost his job in the ATL and that’s even better news! Now let’s not mess this thing up anymore Atlanta and go with a coach that can get you an NBA ring. You won’t find a better coach than Maurice Cheeks the former NBA player and head coach for the Portland Trailblazers and Philadelphia 76ers. Cheeks is currently an assistant coach with the Oklahoma City Thunder and you seen how that team came to life this year. Maurice Cheeks is a big reason why and you must hire this guy for the Atlanta Hawks.

If you watched the 76ers basketball team a couple of years back, you saw what an athletic team could look like running up and down the court. Cheeks had those young stallions in Philly playing better than the Hawks more veteran and more athletic team 2 years ago. I think Maurice Cheeks would be the perfect fit for the Atlanta Hawks new head coaching job. If you want a winning basketball program in Georgia, let’s get this guy in here now, so we can watch our team play up to their full abilities. Maurice Cheeks would be the perfect hire for the Hawks and I don’t see no other head coach I would want right now. He’s the best man for the job and a man the team would support. Cheeks is a good guy and the type of coach players will want to play for. He doesn’t have a coaching system, he coaches to his players strengths and that’s why he would make a perfect head coach for the Atlanta Hawks.

VA Cosmetology Schools

by Chris Padgett on Apr.24, 2010, under Cosmetic Surgery

A cosmetology school in Virginia is ready to take in new students that have dreams of working in the beauty shops across the country. The school’s name is the Regency Beauty Institute and they are really growing fast right now. In the past 8 years, these two Minnesota beauty schools has grown to 30 and located in 9 different states. They continue to grow and a new Regency Beauty Institute is popping up all the time. A person that seeks a job in the cosmetology field, should check out this school and learn why it is the fastest growing beauty school right now in the country. This is a good sign to look for, if you’re interested in a career in this line of work. It should be real easy for those living inside the borders of Virginia to find a Regency school near them!

Freddy Returns to Do Another Nightmare on Elm Street

by Chris Padgett on Apr.24, 2010, under Favorite Movie

New 2010 Movie with Freddy Krueger

You thought the nightmare was over? Well I did and I’m sure millions of others did too. However, this is Hollywood we are talking about and we all know money is the King at the end of the day. That money will come in the form of horror and your lead guide will be none other than Freddy Krueger. The new 2010 movie Nightmare on Elm Street is set to hit theaters next Friday on April 30th. I probably don’t have the time or money to catch this one in theaters, but I know a lot of Nightmare on Elm Street fans will show up to watch. I will have to wait for this one to come to satellite or I might fork out a little money to watch it on Pay Per View. I love the Nightmare movies. My favorite Nightmare on Elm Street was the first one. I think the original Nightmare on Elm Street was one of my top 5 greatest horror movies of all time. Since this new movie in 2010 carries the same name as the first Elm Street horror flick, we may just see a recreation of the first movie? I didn’t want to read too much of the details on it to find out. I like to be surprised and I still have 6+ months to wait on that surprise, since I have no immediate plans to go watch Freddy Krueger in theaters on April 30th or any of the later dates. Do you plan to watch the latest Freddy movie? What is your overall thoughts on the series of movies that call their self the Nightmare on Elm Street movies? I do know that Freddy has got more funny as these movies progressed over time. From the previews they’re currently showing for the April 30th Nightmare on Elm Street, I don’t see any comedy yet. I’m sure he’s got some great lines in there, but maybe they decided to go back to more scary than funny?

Yellow Metal is Still the Safest Bet

by Chris Padgett on Apr.24, 2010, under Finance

That yellow metal, better known as gold on Wall Street is what investors are flocking to these days. Investments have always been a risk to investors, but now a lot of people that keep a daily eye on the Street up in New York want something to show for their investment dollars. People choosing to buy gold bullion is the safest way to go and gives investors something solid they can hold in their hands. Not many other investments like this on Wall Street and no one really knows when the stocks will rebound. The last gold prices I saw was around $1100 an ounce and I believe we were within $10 to $20 of a new high in gold prices. This trend may continue and gold prices have plenty of space to grow in this shaky economy. If the U.S. dollar weakens and things in Europe continue to weaken, this means something around the world is increasing in value. That something is gold and its the main beneficiary; when it comes to bad financial news for this country and overseas. Gold bullion is something adults should consider investing in and this is really a good investment to make for our kids and their futures. No one knows what the future will hold, but we do know gold has a very long history of retaining its value. No safer investments currently exist and everyone should increase their financial portfolios for more gold and gold related investments. Those that own the yellow metal may be smiling for a long time, if gold does see a new high in 2010.

Atlanta Falcons Not Doing Well in the 2010 NFL Draft

by Chris Padgett on Apr.23, 2010, under Blogging

The National Football League got things underway Thursday night; when they began their draft that will take place over a 3 day period. The first 2 days are in the books and the Atlanta Falcons are struggling badly. They have failed to land any quality players yet. They also passed up on a local wide receiver that played his college ball in Atlanta at Georgia Tech. The Falcons need a good core of receivers to add to their franchise player Matt Ryan. The quarterback is important for all football teams, but Ryan is the star player in the ATL. Why Atlanta won’t build around him, is beyond me. Demaryius Thomas from the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets would have filled a big void on the team and he was available at 19; which the Falcons passed on, to take a linebacker from Missouri that brings no star power to the team. A bad draft and no big splashes in the free agent market yet, is leaving the Dirty Birds behind the rest of the NFC South; which is improving this off season. The Dunta Robinson signing for our secondary is the biggest thing Atlanta has done this off season and he’s nothing to get excited about. Atlanta slipped this past season from their impressive start with rookie QB Matt Ryan. Their decline in his sophomore year looks to be a pattern the Falcons are in right now and we are probably looking at a 6 and 10 season this year. Unless a miracle finds a path into Hartsfield Airport and we can snag a couple of really good football players, instead of these mediocre players they seem to go after each year. No star power coming to Atlanta and no playoffs for the Dirty Birds in 2010/2011 season, that’s for sure!

The Atlanta Falcons Draft Board for 2010 (first 2 days)

#19 Sean Weatherspoon- Short linebacker that doesn’t get off blocks from linemen. Good speed in the open field, so will prevent the other teams from hitting the home run play, but won’t have enough physical power to stop NFL running backs at the line of scrimmage.

#83 Corey Peters- SEC player is the only bright thing on the resume here. Will be another wasted pick for D-Line in Hotlanta. The number 2 overall pick from Nebraska was the guy the Falcons could have used and been their dream defensive linemen. Failing to pay the high price tags for the T-Bone steak players, is one of the reasons that make the Falcons a chopped liver team in the NFL.

#98 Mike Johnson- Congrats on back to back SEC players! Johnson only makes the team, due to the lack of depth the Falcons have in the talent pool. This kid from Bama wouldn’t make the team for half of the teams in the NFL.

No offensive weapons for Matt Ryan to develop into the next great QB in this league. I’m sure he will welcome free agency and don’t be surprised to see Matt Ryan playing for the Houston Texans or Arizona Cardinals; when he departs the Peach State.

Alvin and the Chipmunks are Back

by Chris Padgett on Apr.07, 2010, under Favorite Movie

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Alvin and the Chipmunks. All opinions are 100% mine.

The gang’s all back and now you can take them home! That’s right, you can now get Alvin and the Chipmunks at home on DVD, Blu-ray, or download it from your computer in digital quality. You can buy it now and get the double DVD pack which will contain Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel movie and also get The Squeak Along bonus disc! This is a great way to take advantage of the 2nd Alvin and the Chipmunks movie; for those fans that couldn’t get enough of the first Alvin and the Chipmunks movie.

Alvin!

You can hear Dave now screaming at the Chipmunks, but mainly Alvin of course. I grew up with the Chipmunks and always loved them. I use to have a big poster in my bedroom that had Alvin and the Chipmunks on it. I use to own their album Urban Chipmunk that had black borders and Alvin in the middle dressed up like a cowboy.  He was standing up on a bar stool and sipping some drink from a straw at the bar. Some of the songs on that album was I Love a Rainy Night, The Gambler, Coward of the County, and On the Road Again. This came out in the early 1980′s and it was my first introduction to Alvin and the Chipmunks. There was also a cartoon that would come on Saturday mornings that featured Alvin and the Chipmunks. Now we don’t have Saturday morning cartoons, since cartoons can be seen 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Not as much excitement for the younger generation to watch those Saturday morning cartoons like we use to do back in the 1980′s.

Parents wanting to keep the Chipmunks memory alive or want to share this singing treasure with their kids, can get the double DVD pack and have the ability to watch it over and over as many times as you want. You can also go online and enjoy more More Munk Mayhem with your kids. It was a little sad to see Alvin and the Chipmunks vanish there for awhile, but now they are back and their characters have came to life in these new Hollywood movies.

Playing the Daily Traffic Game

by Chris Padgett on Apr.06, 2010, under SEO

Another day on the computer and that means another day to try and direct more traffic to my websites. It’s a constant battle for webmasters seeking to gain more exposure online for their websites. The sites that get the most traffic, usually do the best in the search engines. All traffic is good traffic, but there are some types of traffic that is better than others.

Traffic that stays at your website for long periods of time is good traffic. The traffic that clicks on links and browses more than 1 page of your website is also good traffic. The traffic that shows up for 5 to 15 seconds isn’t that good and the search engines keep up with information like this. If you can find ways to direct traffic to your site and keep them there, you should see better rankings in the search engines. It’s an old SEO tip and one that continues to work in 2010. I don’t have the answers on how to obtain traffic like this and the daily game of trying to direct more traffic to my websites continue. Perhaps you have found some effective methods on getting your visitors to stay longer at your website. If so, please feel free to share your tips here and reply back with any good traffic suggestions.

Modern Day Gold Prospectors

by Chris Padgett on Apr.02, 2010, under Blogging

Gold Still To Be Found…

A lot has changed in the ways we go about looking for gold and in some ways nothing has changed. Gold is still valuable and if you can find enough of it, this precious shinny metal can make you very rich. Just look at George “Buzzard” Massie who decades ago showcased about 1.5 million dollars worth of gold on the Merv Griffin Show. That gold is worth a whole lot more today and the gold on the Merv Griffin Show is probably gone now; just like the untimely passing of the Buzzard back in 1993. While lots of gold was taking from the hills, mountains, rivers, and streams of this great country; a lot more gold still remains out there for anyone willing to look for it.

I’m surprised we don’t have more people out prospecting for gold than we do today. Especially in recent years and watching an ounce of gold soar to over $1,000. I think anyone would be smart to check the backyard and local streams for a little color and see if they can find any gold in their parts of the world. All states in the northern part of the country was covered by ice. The glaciers back from the Ice Age left gold in all the states in the northern regions. The gold found in the South came from a result of the African continent riding over this land more than 250 million years ago. If you live in the United States, there is a good chance gold is nearby you. Obviously the deposits are greater in some areas compared to other areas.

The modern day prospectors can still find this gold. As Tom Massie, the son of George Massie, always like to say “the old timers didn’t find all of that gold and there is still some out there to be found“. I know this has led me to have “gold fever” and I began my search today looking for gold. I didn’t have any luck, but did find some good deposits of black sand. This black sand is heavy and goes to the bottom of your gold pan like gold does. Where you find gold, you will always have black sand. However, there isn’t gold in all the places where you find black sand. I was just happy to get outdoors and began my panning techniques. I have been watching the gold shows that come on the Outdoor Channel for the last 6 months. I picked up a lot of good panning techniques and I believe mine are good enough to find some gold. It’s just a matter of finding places now and discovering where that gold is hiding. I do expect to find some gold this summer and that’s pretty much my plans for this year. You can add my name to the list of modern day prospectors and hopefully I will find enough gold somewhere to be known as a legend one day and have my name added to the list of names that make up the Georgia gold stories in my state.

Remember Joan Jett and the Blackhearts?

by Chris Padgett on Mar.02, 2010, under Favorite Video

Crimson & Clover by Joan Jett
YouTube Preview Image

Now I always liked this song by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. I think Crimson and Clover was one of those songs that took a backseat to their most famous song. Do you remember what the name of that song was? If you said I Love Rock N’ Roll; then you would be correct! Don’t get me wrong, I love the song I Love Rock n’ Rolland it was one I listened to many times. It’s the song I think of first when I think about the lady of rock n’ roll Joan Jett. It wasn’t until I went to a Atlanta Thrashers hockey game a few years back; when I really got a chance to hear the song Crimson and Clover. A concert late at night after a hockey game and hearing this song sung by the famous Joan Jett, just put you in a setting like you were some where else. It was on this night when I really fell in love with this song.

Just recently I saw a movie on TV and this song Crimson & Cloverwas played during a big climax in the movie. It was a perfect touch for that movie and I remember that scene very well. I really miss the songs from the 1980′s and often I will watch channel 6008 on Dishnetwork satellite, because this is one of the Sirius music channels and they play nothing but 80′s music here. They also offer music channels for other decades of music like the 1950′s, 1960′s, 1970′s and I believe they have one for the 1990′s now. It’s hard to believe that 2010 is already here and music has changed so much over the last 60 years.

Did you grow up during the 1980′s? Please feel free to share some of the songs you liked from the 80′s decade and do you remember some of these songs that got played on the radio back in the 1980′s generation:

1. Sister Christian by Night Ranger

2. Celebration by Kool and the Gang

3. Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield

4. Jack and Diane by John Cougar

5. Gloria by Laura Branigan

6. Open Arms by Journey

7. 867-5309 Jennny by Tommy Tutone

8. You Dropped a Bomb on Me  by the Gap Band

9. Toto by Africa

10. Down Under by Men at Work

11. Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler

12. Electric Avenue by Eddy Grant

13. Every Breath You Take by the Police

14. Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran

15. Cum on Feel the Noize by Quiet Riot

16. Puttin on the Ritz by Taco

17. She Blinded Me with Science by Thomas Dolby

18. 1999 by Prince

19. Billie Jean by Michael Jackson

20. Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo

21. Footloose by Kenny Loggins

22. Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr.

23. Hello by Lionel Richie

24. Jump by Van Halen

25. Karma Chamelon by Boy George

26. 99 Luftballoons by Nena

27. Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell

28. We’re Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister

29. Money for Nothing by Dire Straight

30. Amanda by Boston

I could go on and on with all the great music from the 1980′s decade. I’m sure you know a few of the songs above and for people that were in high school during the 1980′s generation; will know a lot of these songs well. I know going to the local skating rink and hearing these songs or a song like I love Rock N’ Roll by Joan Jett or Hurts So Good by John Cougar Mellancamp are just a couple of those songs that can take us back down memory lane again. I treasure the songs from the 80′s singers and bands. A lot of good music got made back then and it seem the lyrics is what made them so good. Today’s music is more about the music than the actual lyrics and I guess that’s why I’m not a big fan of modern music. I do try to stay hip and keep up with the latest artists coming out, but put the radio dial in my hand and we will be listening to the songs from the 1980′s generation. Feel free to name a few popular songs you remember from the 1980′s and which song or songs stick out in your head. I’m sure Joan Jett and the Blackhearts has to make most people’s top 10 list; when they look back on the great songs from this period in music.

New Movies Topping the Charts

by Chris Padgett on Mar.01, 2010, under Favorite Movie

The past weekend’s box office results is quite different from what we have been use to. This is the way the top 10 movies came out of the latest box office scores.

1. Shutter Island

2. Cop Out

3. The Crazies

4. Avatar

5. Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

6. Valentine’s Day

7. Dear John

8. The Wolfman

9. Tooth Fairy

10. Crazy Heart

Have you seen any of those top 10 movies? I still haven’t seen Avatar yet and it’s hard to believe this movie is still making the top 10 list. It must be a really good movie and it’s had more success than any other movie in box office history. I do think Shutter Island would be a good movie to see and I can see why it’s currently number 1 at the box office.

There are a few more good movies set to make their debut this upcoming Friday. This week’s debuts will be headlined by a classic story and one that many of us know. The name of this movie will be called Alice in Wonderland. Other movies that will start this Friday in theaters will be Brooklyn’s Finest, The Secret of Kells, and Stolen. So this weekend is a good time to go see movies that made the top 10 last weekend or to see one of the new movies that will be coming out this Friday.

The Chocolate Touch for a Cell Phone Christmas

by Chris Padgett on Jan.02, 2010, under Blogging

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of LG Chocolate Touch. All opinions are 100% mine.

If I had to venture a guess on the number 1 item bought this past Christmas, I would have to guess the cell phone. The cell phone’s popularity continues to amaze me and now technology is helping to sustain that popularity. New technology is making it possible for our cell phones to do just about anything and just when we thought they couldn’t get more advanced, a new feature will emerge. My cell phone is very basic and I like it that way. I get confused on navigating some of the newer cell phones, so I do like my cell phone simple. This isn’t the way most people feel, because the more features on a cell phone today, means the more people will want them.

Can a cell phone vacuum my living room? Can a cell phone walk my dog? No, they can’t do things like this yet and I do stress “yet”, because I wouldn’t put anything past the minds that are working with cell phone technology right now. I can tell you about the LG Chocolate Touch and this is about as high tech as it gets with cell phones and no one would have ever believed that a cell phone could do so much. The Chocolate Touch can make and receive calls like any other cell phone can. It also has the ability to send text messages, surf the Internet, take pictures or videos, and has a music player with Dolby Mobile technology for a clear and quality sound. This phone probably plays music better than your car radio or the stereo inside your home. It also features a one-touch button for those popular social networking websites like Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook.

The thing that separates the LG Chocolate Touch from other cell phones with similar features is the amount of quality devoted into each feature. Like with the Dolby Mobile technology that allows users to hear their music in a high quality setting. The 3.2 MP Camera/Recorder is also a high quality feature for pictures and videos and even has it’s own image editor included. The Mobile Media includes text, picture, video, and voice messaging at top-notch quality. It also includes visual voicemail, so you could include an image with the messages you leave for family and friends. If that wasn’t enough, I will go ahead and mention the Rhythmical Beat that vibrates the handset to the beat of the music. How cool is that? A lot of people got cell phones for Christmas this year, but the ones that received an LG Chocolate Touch might have got the best cell phone there was to get this Christmas.

Last Weekend of Movies for 2009

The movie industry has set new records this year. As a whole the movie industry reached 10 billion dollars and this is the first time this mark has ever been reached. There were some really good movies in 2009 and it would be hard for me to name a top 10 list. Instead of focusing on the best movies for the 2009 year, I think I will spotlight the movies that finished in the top 10 for the last weekend in 2009.

Avatar Movie

No big surprise to see which movie was on top. Avatar was the leading movie at the box office this past weekend. It looks like it took a lot of money to make this movie and now the investors associated with Avatar are reaping the rewards from their creation. James Cameron did an excellent job with Titanic and pulled that movie off nicely in the 90′s. He now finishes the new decade off with a big-time Hollywood movie and people are paying money to see the new Avatar movie.

Top 10 Movies for Last 2009 Weekend

1. Avatar

2. Sherlock Holmes

3. Alvin & the Chipmunks

4. It’s Complicated

5. Up in the Air

6. The Blind Side

7. The Princess and the Frog

8. Nine

9. Did You Hear About the Morgans?

10. Invictus

A couple of true story movies making the top 10. I do love my true story movies and the Blind Side may just be the best movie in 2009. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I have been hearing really good things about it. Some have even said the Blind Side is the best movie they have ever seen. It’s great this movie had so much success and I would like to see more Hollywood movies that showed how some of these athletes went from rags to riches. All professional athletes in the NHL (hockey), MLB (baseball), NFL (football), and NBA (basketball) are making a king’s ransom each year. I’m sure there is a lot more success stories out there and hopefully with the popularity of the Blind Side, we can get a chance to see more movies like this. The other true story movie is also sports related with the South African rugby team and it’s called Invictus. I love true story movies and I am a big sports nut too. So true story movies based on sports will always get a thumbs up from me.

Probably the most surprising thing about the movies in 2009 is the fact they did set an all-time record in sales at the box office. The world-wide economy has been in the news a lot in 2009 and how we are all struggling to make ends meet and no one has a job. A bad economy leads to the greatest showing ever for the movies industry is a little shocking. No matter how hard times get, it seems we will still go see the movies we want to watch in the theaters. I wonder with the economy predicted to be better in 2010 if we will see a new record next year. A lot will depend on which movies come and how many blockbusters hang around at the theaters. An early glimpse now at the movies slated for 2010 and I don’t see it being that big of a year in the movie industry. At least not a 10 billion dollar year; where each month the industry would need to be pulling in close to 1 billion dollars a month. I guess we will have to wait and see, but I think we skip a year and 2011 will be the new record that breaks the 2009 movie record.

Google Remembers Patg (Patricia Grilliot)

by Chris Padgett on Dec.09, 2009, under Marketing

Unbelievable the underhanded tactics and outright lies _______   ________ stoops to.
Dragon Surf gets a 10 from me every week !
Why? It always has and continues to give me results

 patg

Patg (1945 – 2009)

I heard some sad news today that occured last week. One of the big time online internet marketers of our time is no longer with us. It appears from what I have been able to learn is that Patg (screen name) was taken to the hospital Wednesday (Dec.2) and would later pass away the next day on Thursday (Dec. 3rd). I wasn’t sure if she had been sick or what, since I really didn’t know her. I have learned now that her passing was an unexpected death and that does make the loss that much greater.

I did have one message from Patg and one small story I can share about her. I’m a member over at Max Traffic Pro and one day I got an email from them stating we could surf for referrals that day. I thought I could use some extra people in my downline, so I took off to do some surfing at the Max Traffic TE. I was able to win 1 of those referrals from Max Traffic Pro on that special promotion day. I’m sure you could probably guess who that referral would turn out to be? Yes, it was a member by the screen name Patg. I noticed that Patg was an upgraded referral, so that made me happy to know that I had won a referral that was a paid member. After getting in my downline, Patg did send me a message. She knew what was up and how she had arrived in my downline that day. She sent me a message and said something along the lines of “I guess you won me“. I’m not sure if I replied back to her or not. I went to Max Traffic Pro to see if my inbox or outbox still had the messages, but it was gone. She was right though, I did win her. She continued to be an upgraded member in my downline there and to this day, she has been the only upgraded member I have ever received there.

I did have Patg as a contact at another traffic exchange called Trafficera. I have a team there called Google Ranked Us and Patg was a team leader of the Dragon Surf 2 team. Both of our teams are still very active and both are in the top 10 standings at Trafficera. I would like to say that the Google Surfing Team at Trafficera does send out our thoughts and prayers to the Dragon Surf 2 team. I’m sure you guys are missing Pat a lot right now and don’t expect to find a team leader like Pat anytime soon. They just don’t make them like her very much and I can only imagine the void that is in your team chat and not to see Patg finding a clock in chat anymore has to be really difficult.

It’s not only the Google Ranked Us surfing team that remembers Patg, but the Google search engine still remembers her well too. I decided to do a few searches at Google and for the term “Patg Pat Grilliot” I found a lot of traces of Pat still around. That’s the beauty of online marketing, some of the things we do today, we will never know what benefits we will get from them tomorrow. That’s why it’s always important to do as much as you can daily to succeed online, because you never know when your health may fail and your not able to have that energy anymore. Obviously in Pat’s case, her health failed in the worse way imaginable. I was able to track down things from 2006 where Pat was leaving her footprints on the Internet. I saw so many positive things from her and the amount of territory this woman covered is amazing. I’m not sure when Pat got the fever of online marketing pumping through her veins, but from 2006 all the way up to her untimely passing, she was as active as any one person could ever hope to be online.

An Example of Patg’s Activity Level

Trafficera opened up for business on January 20th, 2008. This is also the date Patg joined Trafficera. Did you join Trafficera the first day or in the beginning? If you didn’t, then try to find some of those top members that joined on January 20th in 2008 and see what their surfing PV was. Patg had a Lifetime Surfing PV of  2,857,406! You will have a hard time finding someone that surfed that much at Trafficera. Patg’s final numbers at Trafficera:

Lifetime PV (LPV)   2949616
from surfing
   2857406
from referring
   74760
from sponsoring
   17450

Those numbers are amazing! I can only imagine how often Patg’s name came up in team chat showing that she had found another clock. Since Pat had so many things going on online, her referring number is still moving at Trafficera. It is currently showing a 4 for her and this is a week after she has left us.

I am a full time internet marketer,
spending so many hours online that even my dog
complains that he needs more attention
!” ……Patg

I didn’t know Pat that well and I do reget it. After seeing all the things she was doing online, I would have loved to work with her and I think we would have got along great. Some of those footprints are still evident on message boards and here are a few links that I was able to dig up in a short amount of time. Most of her messages are in response to a question or where she thought she could have helped someone. I’m sure her legacy and beliefs will still live on, since so many different people had a chance to cross her path.

Another link I will pass along is the one the Dragon Surf 2 team is showing at Trafficera. They have a page that directs you to the Patg Obituary Page and you can click that link for more details. It’s hard to calculate how many people Pat came across in her online marketing efforts, but if you have been doing this gig for a couple of years; then I bet you have seen the name, picture, or seen one of her pages. If you are an interested in online marketing, then be sure you stay as active as Pat was and do all you can each day to leave your footprints behind, so others can learn from you. Pat may have not taught me anything while she was here, but after a little research online, she has taught me something tonight. I may be her last student or there could be a hundred after me. Regardless of where that next piece of knowledge comes from, you can bet they had some sort of contact to Patg.

Hey Pat? Your work is over now. It’s time we got a little elbow room now and although we may never fill the void you left, we will sure have a lot more room to market without ya here. Miss ya bunches and in loving memory from me (dishtv21), the Google Ranked Us Team, and everyone else that wishes you was still with us. I will close with your closing words and the one you have on your Patg Recommends Website:

To your success and prosperity,

Pat Grilliot

Favorite Places to Use the iPod

by Chris Padgett on Dec.05, 2009, under Favorite Singer

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Yamaha. All opinions are 100% mine.

The technology of today is so much better than the things we had just a few years back. Anything that begins with an “I” seems to make our lives easier and it’s been a big move up the entertainment ladder for those that have took advantage of the “I” technology. It started with the “Internet” and the latest things like iPods and iPhones are the latest craze in this “I” whirlwind we are in. I hope to get an iPhone soon, but I have took full advantage of the iPods. I am on my 3rd iPod now and it’s because they keep making these tech gadgets better. My favorite place to use my iPod is on the computer. I just plug it in and no one around me can hear the music I am listening to. The music is what I like best about the iPods, but I have a feeling I will adapt to the latest features that come on the iPods being produced right now. Where’s your favorite places for watching TV, videos, or just listening to the tunes on your iPod?

Ipod Music from My Computer

There is a great sound system you can get for the times you use your iPhone or iPod. The Yamaha PDX-60 is loaded with goodies and it can amp your sound for music or other things. It’s perfect for matching up sound with videos and is just one of the many great features this tech gadget from Yamaha offers. I also like the fact that it comes in a variety of colors, so you can match it up to the color of your iPod or iPhone. It comes with a 2 way recharging system too and this will come in handy for a lot of folks. The ability to recharge one iPod on the speaker platform and it comes with a cradle, so you could recharge a 2nd iPod! The people with iPhones will have the double recharge ability too. This unit does offer remote features and this makes it much easier to use. It’s just loaded with features for the kids and adults that use the “I” technology daily. I think it would make a great Christmas gift this year and especially to those folks that are always needing to recharge an iPhone or iPod.

Childhood Memories Restored: Space Giants

by Chris Padgett on Dec.04, 2009, under Favorite Sitcom

 Goldar from the Space Giants

Space Giants Goldar

As a kid I use to love watching this show. It was produced in Japan in the 1960′s and later shown in the USA in the late 1970′s and perhaps ran into the early 1980′s. I was on a 10+ year search for this classic TV show and just now discoverd the name of it. It’s called the Space Giants and to my surprise, they even have a few short clips from this classic TV program over at YouTube. It certainly brought back a lot of memories and I barely do remember this TV show. Goldar was the main character and he was the one saving the day all the time. Evil characters and monsters kept coming to Earth and was trying to take over. A little boy would always seem to find the trouble first and then with 3 quick blows into his whistle, he would call Goldar to the scene. It was all over when Goldar showed up and he would use his powers to defeat these space monsters. Goldar was a 50 foot robot and it was up to him to defend the Earth and keep our planet as we know it.

Anyone remember this TV program from the late 1970′s? You may have your own childhood memories of a TV show that you use to watch all the time. If so, then please fee free to share it. If you don’t know the name of the title, just give all the details you can and I will try to help you locate an old TV program. I think everyone has a classic TV show they use to watch as kids and probably wished they could see it again. Some programs do come back at a later time for us to watch. I’m sure most of you can remember the Dukes of Hazard when it first came out. It took about a decade later and the show came back on the air. It seemed a bit silly the 2nd time around watching the Dukes of Hazard, but it was great watching it as a kid. I even heard that the Dukes of Hazard was so popular in the state of Mississippi, they had to change their Friday night football games to Saturday night. This was because the Dukes of Hazard was so popular and no one was showing up to watch high school football in Mississippi. This was back before the VCR and when the VCR did come out; it was pretty expensive and most families couldn’t afford it.

Goldar

Did you ever watch the Dukes of Hazard or Space Giants growing up as a kid? Can you remember other popular TV shows like BJ and the Bear, Greatest American Hero, and Matt Houston? These are some more TV shows I watched growing up in the late 1970′s and 1980′s. Another TV show that ran for only 2 years (1977 – 1977) during this time was Carter’s Country. It was located in a fictional town of Clinton Corners in the state of Georgia. This was suppose to be near the home of Jimmy Carter (U.S. President) and the reason the show was called Carter’s Country. Carter’s Country featured Victor French as the police chief and it was a TV show I watched a lot back then. Are these TV shows in your memory bank some where and you remember watching them too? I really am glad that I found out the title to the show that featured Goldar and now I know it’s called the Space Giants.
