Now I always liked this song by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. I think Crimson and Clover was one of those songs that took a backseat to their most famous song. Do you remember what the name of that song was? If you said I Love Rock N’ Roll; then you would be correct! Don’t get me wrong, I love the song I Love Rock n’ Rolland it was one I listened to many times. It’s the song I think of first when I think about the lady of rock n’ roll Joan Jett. It wasn’t until I went to a Atlanta Thrashers hockey game a few years back; when I really got a chance to hear the song Crimson and Clover. A concert late at night after a hockey game and hearing this song sung by the famous Joan Jett, just put you in a setting like you were some where else. It was on this night when I really fell in love with this song.

Just recently I saw a movie on TV and this song Crimson & Cloverwas played during a big climax in the movie. It was a perfect touch for that movie and I remember that scene very well. I really miss the songs from the 1980’s and often I will watch channel 6008 on Dishnetwork satellite, because this is one of the Sirius music channels and they play nothing but 80’s music here. They also offer music channels for other decades of music like the 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s and I believe they have one for the 1990’s now. It’s hard to believe that 2010 is already here and music has changed so much over the last 60 years.

Did you grow up during the 1980’s? Please feel free to share some of the songs you liked from the 80’s decade and do you remember some of these songs that got played on the radio back in the 1980’s generation:

1. Sister Christian by Night Ranger

2. Celebration by Kool and the Gang

3. Jessie’s Girl by Rick Springfield

4. Jack and Diane by John Cougar

5. Gloria by Laura Branigan

6. Open Arms by Journey

7. 867-5309 Jennny by Tommy Tutone

8. You Dropped a Bomb on Me by the Gap Band

9. Toto by Africa

10. Down Under by Men at Work

11. Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler

12. Electric Avenue by Eddy Grant

13. Every Breath You Take by the Police

14. Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran

15. Cum on Feel the Noize by Quiet Riot

16. Puttin on the Ritz by Taco

17. She Blinded Me with Science by Thomas Dolby

18. 1999 by Prince

19. Billie Jean by Michael Jackson

20. Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo

21. Footloose by Kenny Loggins

22. Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr.

23. Hello by Lionel Richie

24. Jump by Van Halen

25. Karma Chamelon by Boy George

26. 99 Luftballoons by Nena

27. Somebody’s Watching Me by Rockwell

28. We’re Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister

29. Money for Nothing by Dire Straight

30. Amanda by Boston

I could go on and on with all the great music from the 1980’s decade. I’m sure you know a few of the songs above and for people that were in high school during the 1980’s generation; will know a lot of these songs well. I know going to the local skating rink and hearing these songs or a song like I love Rock N’ Roll by Joan Jett or Hurts So Good by John Cougar Mellancamp are just a couple of those songs that can take us back down memory lane again. I treasure the songs from the 80’s singers and bands. A lot of good music got made back then and it seem the lyrics is what made them so good. Today’s music is more about the music than the actual lyrics and I guess that’s why I’m not a big fan of modern music. I do try to stay hip and keep up with the latest artists coming out, but put the radio dial in my hand and we will be listening to the songs from the 1980’s generation. Feel free to name a few popular songs you remember from the 1980’s and which song or songs stick out in your head. I’m sure Joan Jett and the Blackhearts has to make most people’s top 10 list; when they look back on the great songs from this period in music.

The past weekend’s box office results is quite different from what we have been use to. This is the way the top 10 movies came out of the latest box office scores.

1. Shutter Island

2. Cop Out

3. The Crazies

4. Avatar

7. Dear John

8. The Wolfman

9. Tooth Fairy

10. Crazy Heart

Have you seen any of those top 10 movies? I still haven’t seen Avatar yet and it’s hard to believe this movie is still making the top 10 list. It must be a really good movie and it’s had more success than any other movie in box office history. I do think Shutter Island would be a good movie to see and I can see why it’s currently number 1 at the box office.

There are a few more good movies set to make their debut this upcoming Friday. This week’s debuts will be headlined by a classic story and one that many of us know. The name of this movie will be called Alice in Wonderland. Other movies that will start this Friday in theaters will be Brooklyn’s Finest, The Secret of Kells, and Stolen. So this weekend is a good time to go see movies that made the top 10 last weekend or to see one of the new movies that will be coming out this Friday.

Have you checked the prices for a link on a PR 4 website lately? Most webmasters will charge $20 to $30 a month and in some cases more. Over a 1 year time frame, you would be looking at a cost of $200 or more for just that 1 link. Now you can cut that cost in half on my PR 4 blog; plus get an additional 6 links for totally FREE and good for 1 year too!

Feel free to search around and look for better link offers. I think you will find this is a good deal and I can’t leave this opportunity up forever. I’m only going to accept a certain number of links, so I can provide quality space for advertisers and website owners that are searching for extra links online that lead back to their website. This is a good investment for those seeking higher placement in the search engines.

For more information or to accept my offer, just email: owlholler@hotmail.com with “$99 Blog Offer” or “Blog Offer” in the subject line and I should give a reply back within 24 hours. I will accept payments via Pay Pal and for $99 you will get your link on all 7 of these blogs and it will be good for 1 year! If I charged $1 a month for each one of these blogs, that would be $7 a month or $84 a year. You will be paying just over $1 a month for each one of these blogs and there is no where else online that will give you a PR4 link for less than $2 a month. If you have been waiting for a way to make a splash online and take the next step up with your online promotions; then this is the perfect opportunity for you!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of LG Chocolate Touch. All opinions are 100% mine.

If I had to venture a guess on the number 1 item bought this past Christmas, I would have to guess the cell phone. The cell phone’s popularity continues to amaze me and now technology is helping to sustain that popularity. New technology is making it possible for our cell phones to do just about anything and just when we thought they couldn’t get more advanced, a new feature will emerge. My cell phone is very basic and I like it that way. I get confused on navigating some of the newer cell phones, so I do like my cell phone simple. This isn’t the way most people feel, because the more features on a cell phone today, means the more people will want them.

Can a cell phone vacuum my living room? Can a cell phone walk my dog? No, they can’t do things like this yet and I do stress “yet”, because I wouldn’t put anything past the minds that are working with cell phone technology right now. I can tell you about the LG Chocolate Touch and this is about as high tech as it gets with cell phones and no one would have ever believed that a cell phone could do so much. The Chocolate Touch can make and receive calls like any other cell phone can. It also has the ability to send text messages, surf the Internet, take pictures or videos, and has a music player with Dolby Mobile technology for a clear and quality sound. This phone probably plays music better than your car radio or the stereo inside your home. It also features a one-touch button for those popular social networking websites like Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook.

The thing that separates the LG Chocolate Touch from other cell phones with similar features is the amount of quality devoted into each feature. Like with the Dolby Mobile technology that allows users to hear their music in a high quality setting. The 3.2 MP Camera/Recorder is also a high quality feature for pictures and videos and even has it’s own image editor included. The Mobile Media includes text, picture, video, and voice messaging at top-notch quality. It also includes visual voicemail, so you could include an image with the messages you leave for family and friends. If that wasn’t enough, I will go ahead and mention the Rhythmical Beat that vibrates the handset to the beat of the music. How cool is that? A lot of people got cell phones for Christmas this year, but the ones that received an LG Chocolate Touch might have got the best cell phone there was to get this Christmas.

The movie industry has set new records this year. As a whole the movie industry reached 10 billion dollars and this is the first time this mark has ever been reached. There were some really good movies in 2009 and it would be hard for me to name a top 10 list. Instead of focusing on the best movies for the 2009 year, I think I will spotlight the movies that finished in the top 10 for the last weekend in 2009.

No big surprise to see which movie was on top. Avatar was the leading movie at the box office this past weekend. It looks like it took a lot of money to make this movie and now the investors associated with Avatar are reaping the rewards from their creation. James Cameron did an excellent job with Titanic and pulled that movie off nicely in the 90’s. He now finishes the new decade off with a big-time Hollywood movie and people are paying money to see the new Avatar movie.

Top 10 Movies for Last 2009 Weekend

1. Avatar

2. Sherlock Holmes

3. Alvin & the Chipmunks

4. It’s Complicated

5. Up in the Air

6. The Blind Side

7. The Princess and the Frog

8. Nine

9. Did You Hear About the Morgans?

10. Invictus

A couple of true story movies making the top 10. I do love my true story movies and the Blind Side may just be the best movie in 2009. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I have been hearing really good things about it. Some have even said the Blind Side is the best movie they have ever seen. It’s great this movie had so much success and I would like to see more Hollywood movies that showed how some of these athletes went from rags to riches. All professional athletes in the NHL (hockey), MLB (baseball), NFL (football), and NBA (basketball) are making a king’s ransom each year. I’m sure there is a lot more success stories out there and hopefully with the popularity of the Blind Side, we can get a chance to see more movies like this. The other true story movie is also sports related with the South African rugby team and it’s called Invictus. I love true story movies and I am a big sports nut too. So true story movies based on sports will always get a thumbs up from me.

Probably the most surprising thing about the movies in 2009 is the fact they did set an all-time record in sales at the box office. The world-wide economy has been in the news a lot in 2009 and how we are all struggling to make ends meet and no one has a job. A bad economy leads to the greatest showing ever for the movies industry is a little shocking. No matter how hard times get, it seems we will still go see the movies we want to watch in the theaters. I wonder with the economy predicted to be better in 2010 if we will see a new record next year. A lot will depend on which movies come and how many blockbusters hang around at the theaters. An early glimpse now at the movies slated for 2010 and I don’t see it being that big of a year in the movie industry. At least not a 10 billion dollar year; where each month the industry would need to be pulling in close to 1 billion dollars a month. I guess we will have to wait and see, but I think we skip a year and 2011 will be the new record that breaks the 2009 movie record.

Dragon Surf gets a 10 from me every week !
Why? It always has and continues to give me results”

Patg (1945 – 2009)

I heard some sad news today that occured last week. One of the big time online internet marketers of our time is no longer with us. It appears from what I have been able to learn is that Patg (screen name) was taken to the hospital Wednesday (Dec.2) and would later pass away the next day on Thursday (Dec. 3rd). I wasn’t sure if she had been sick or what, since I really didn’t know her. I have learned now that her passing was an unexpected death and that does make the loss that much greater.

I did have one message from Patg and one small story I can share about her. I’m a member over at Max Traffic Pro and one day I got an email from them stating we could surf for referrals that day. I thought I could use some extra people in my downline, so I took off to do some surfing at the Max Traffic TE. I was able to win 1 of those referrals from Max Traffic Pro on that special promotion day. I’m sure you could probably guess who that referral would turn out to be? Yes, it was a member by the screen name Patg. I noticed that Patg was an upgraded referral, so that made me happy to know that I had won a referral that was a paid member. After getting in my downline, Patg did send me a message. She knew what was up and how she had arrived in my downline that day. She sent me a message and said something along the lines of “I guess you won me“. I’m not sure if I replied back to her or not. I went to Max Traffic Pro to see if my inbox or outbox still had the messages, but it was gone. She was right though, I did win her. She continued to be an upgraded member in my downline there and to this day, she has been the only upgraded member I have ever received there.

I did have Patg as a contact at another traffic exchange called Trafficera. I have a team there called Google Ranked Us and Patg was a team leader of the Dragon Surf 2 team. Both of our teams are still very active and both are in the top 10 standings at Trafficera. I would like to say that the Google Surfing Team at Trafficera does send out our thoughts and prayers to the Dragon Surf 2 team. I’m sure you guys are missing Pat a lot right now and don’t expect to find a team leader like Pat anytime soon. They just don’t make them like her very much and I can only imagine the void that is in your team chat and not to see Patg finding a clock in chat anymore has to be really difficult.

It’s not only the Google Ranked Us surfing team that remembers Patg, but the Google search engine still remembers her well too. I decided to do a few searches at Google and for the term “Patg Pat Grilliot” I found a lot of traces of Pat still around. That’s the beauty of online marketing, some of the things we do today, we will never know what benefits we will get from them tomorrow. That’s why it’s always important to do as much as you can daily to succeed online, because you never know when your health may fail and your not able to have that energy anymore. Obviously in Pat’s case, her health failed in the worse way imaginable. I was able to track down things from 2006 where Pat was leaving her footprints on the Internet. I saw so many positive things from her and the amount of territory this woman covered is amazing. I’m not sure when Pat got the fever of online marketing pumping through her veins, but from 2006 all the way up to her untimely passing, she was as active as any one person could ever hope to be online.

An Example of Patg’s Activity Level

Trafficera opened up for business on January 20th, 2008. This is also the date Patg joined Trafficera. Did you join Trafficera the first day or in the beginning? If you didn’t, then try to find some of those top members that joined on January 20th in 2008 and see what their surfing PV was. Patg had a Lifetime Surfing PV of 2,857,406! You will have a hard time finding someone that surfed that much at Trafficera. Patg’s final numbers at Trafficera:

Lifetime PV (LPV)

2949616

from surfing

2857406

from referring

74760

from sponsoring

17450

Those numbers are amazing! I can only imagine how often Patg’s name came up in team chat showing that she had found another clock. Since Pat had so many things going on online, her referring number is still moving at Trafficera. It is currently showing a 4 for her and this is a week after she has left us.

“I am a full time internet marketer,
spending so many hours online that even my dog
complains that he needs more attention!” ……Patg

I didn’t know Pat that well and I do reget it. After seeing all the things she was doing online, I would have loved to work with her and I think we would have got along great. Some of those footprints are still evident on message boards and here are a few links that I was able to dig up in a short amount of time. Most of her messages are in response to a question or where she thought she could have helped someone. I’m sure her legacy and beliefs will still live on, since so many different people had a chance to cross her path.

Another link I will pass along is the one the Dragon Surf 2 team is showing at Trafficera. They have a page that directs you to the Patg Obituary Page and you can click that link for more details. It’s hard to calculate how many people Pat came across in her online marketing efforts, but if you have been doing this gig for a couple of years; then I bet you have seen the name, picture, or seen one of her pages. If you are an interested in online marketing, then be sure you stay as active as Pat was and do all you can each day to leave your footprints behind, so others can learn from you. Pat may have not taught me anything while she was here, but after a little research online, she has taught me something tonight. I may be her last student or there could be a hundred after me. Regardless of where that next piece of knowledge comes from, you can bet they had some sort of contact to Patg.

Hey Pat? Your work is over now. It’s time we got a little elbow room now and although we may never fill the void you left, we will sure have a lot more room to market without ya here. Miss ya bunches and in loving memory from me (dishtv21), the Google Ranked Us Team, and everyone else that wishes you was still with us. I will close with your closing words and the one you have on your Patg Recommends Website:

To your success and prosperity,

The technology of today is so much better than the things we had just a few years back. Anything that begins with an “I” seems to make our lives easier and it’s been a big move up the entertainment ladder for those that have took advantage of the “I” technology. It started with the “Internet” and the latest things like iPods and iPhones are the latest craze in this “I” whirlwind we are in. I hope to get an iPhone soon, but I have took full advantage of the iPods. I am on my 3rd iPod now and it’s because they keep making these tech gadgets better. My favorite place to use my iPod is on the computer. I just plug it in and no one around me can hear the music I am listening to. The music is what I like best about the iPods, but I have a feeling I will adapt to the latest features that come on the iPods being produced right now. Where’s your favorite places for watching TV, videos, or just listening to the tunes on your iPod?

There is a great sound system you can get for the times you use your iPhone or iPod. The Yamaha PDX-60 is loaded with goodies and it can amp your sound for music or other things. It’s perfect for matching up sound with videos and is just one of the many great features this tech gadget from Yamaha offers. I also like the fact that it comes in a variety of colors, so you can match it up to the color of your iPod or iPhone. It comes with a 2 way recharging system too and this will come in handy for a lot of folks. The ability to recharge one iPod on the speaker platform and it comes with a cradle, so you could recharge a 2nd iPod! The people with iPhones will have the double recharge ability too. This unit does offer remote features and this makes it much easier to use. It’s just loaded with features for the kids and adults that use the “I” technology daily. I think it would make a great Christmas gift this year and especially to those folks that are always needing to recharge an iPhone or iPod.

Goldar from the Space Giants

As a kid I use to love watching this show. It was produced in Japan in the 1960’s and later shown in the USA in the late 1970’s and perhaps ran into the early 1980’s. I was on a 10+ year search for this classic TV show and just now discoverd the name of it. It’s called the Space Giants and to my surprise, they even have a few short clips from this classic TV program over at YouTube. It certainly brought back a lot of memories and I barely do remember this TV show. Goldar was the main character and he was the one saving the day all the time. Evil characters and monsters kept coming to Earth and was trying to take over. A little boy would always seem to find the trouble first and then with 3 quick blows into his whistle, he would call Goldar to the scene. It was all over when Goldar showed up and he would use his powers to defeat these space monsters. Goldar was a 50 foot robot and it was up to him to defend the Earth and keep our planet as we know it.

Anyone remember this TV program from the late 1970’s? You may have your own childhood memories of a TV show that you use to watch all the time. If so, then please fee free to share it. If you don’t know the name of the title, just give all the details you can and I will try to help you locate an old TV program. I think everyone has a classic TV show they use to watch as kids and probably wished they could see it again. Some programs do come back at a later time for us to watch. I’m sure most of you can remember the Dukes of Hazard when it first came out. It took about a decade later and the show came back on the air. It seemed a bit silly the 2nd time around watching the Dukes of Hazard, but it was great watching it as a kid. I even heard that the Dukes of Hazard was so popular in the state of Mississippi, they had to change their Friday night football games to Saturday night. This was because the Dukes of Hazard was so popular and no one was showing up to watch high school football in Mississippi. This was back before the VCR and when the VCR did come out; it was pretty expensive and most families couldn’t afford it.

Did you ever watch the Dukes of Hazard or Space Giants growing up as a kid? Can you remember other popular TV shows like BJ and the Bear, Greatest American Hero, and Matt Houston? These are some more TV shows I watched growing up in the late 1970’s and 1980’s. Another TV show that ran for only 2 years (1977 – 1977) during this time was Carter’s Country. It was located in a fictional town of Clinton Corners in the state of Georgia. This was suppose to be near the home of Jimmy Carter (U.S. President) and the reason the show was called Carter’s Country. Carter’s Country featured Victor French as the police chief and it was a TV show I watched a lot back then. Are these TV shows in your memory bank some where and you remember watching them too? I really am glad that I found out the title to the show that featured Goldar and now I know it’s called the Space Giants.

If you’re currently in the education sector or desire to be a teacher one day; then why not get with a school that is affiliated with the USC school in Southern California? The USC Trojan school is a legendary school in the United States and it’s education levels rank very well when compared to other schools in the country. The USC Rossier School of Education offers degrees in teaching and you’re able to do your studies online. Anyone that has the desire to earn a Masters in Arts teaching degree should check them out for more program information. This is a wonderful opportunity to get your self in position to learn from some of the best teachers in the country.

There are a lot of benefits to earning your degree online. It’s much easier to do your work when you have the free time. This means you can do your work in the early morning hours or real late at night. It’s convenient to study online and going to school online gives you the freedom to do the other things you have going on in your life right now. You don’t have to find a babysitter or quit your current job, that may be paying for the bills right now. A lot of flexibility comes with earning a degree online. Even though you will be earning your teaching degree online, you will still be a part of the USC Trojan alumni and have a lifetime membership there. The teachers at USC have a 100 year history of teaching other teachers and you would be hard-pressed to find a more experienced school in the country. This is a great opportunity to learn from the USC faculty and they have been noticed for their contributions to modern education. They do offer fast-track programs so you can get your degrees much faster online; than if you went to a school on your own. It is possible to earn your degree in less than 12 months, so there are accelerated programs available to the students at USC Rossier School of Education. This program might not be right for you, but I bet you know someone that this would be perfect for!
