I haven’t played in any pool tournaments lately, but I really like to play in them. Pool tournaments are a good way to keep your game polished and thriving. It’s not a good idea to take any time off from shooting pool. The more you can play and play at a high level, is the way you ultimately get better. Sometimes it’s hard to play at a high level when you are just playing your friends in a friendly game of pool. Pool tournaments give you something to play for and will make you shoot every shot to your best.

Now I like playing at the bigger establishments, but the better players usually play at these pool tournaments. I have had better luck at the smaller pool halls, but you don’t win as nice of a prize that some of the bigger pool halls give out. Now the smaller pool halls usually have poor tables, low lighting, and there might be something like tables or bar stools that will be in your way when you’re trying to shoot shots when the cue ball is on the rail. I have also shot at some of the pool halls where a wall or pole coming down from the ceiling blocks you from getting down and getting a comfortable shot. These are some of the problems you can face, but your opponent has to face the same conditions, so it evens itself out.
