The top 10 list at movie theaters are being shook up and lots of surprises. I think Hannah Montana’s new movie is the biggest one and it has fallen to number 7 on the list after only 3 weeks. I would have thought this movie would have stayed closer to number 1, but seems fans are not paying to see Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus.
The movies that movie goers are going to see right now is X-Men, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and Obsessed. These are the top 3 movies to watch right now and they took home the top honors at the box office this past weekend. I’m sure X-Men will do well again this weekend and I expect another strong showing for this new movie.
The comedy movie of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past did very well with a 2nd place showing. This movie features Matthew McConaughey and Jenifer Garner. I would think any movie with the lovely Jennifer Garner would do well and this one certainly did. I’m sure Warner Brothers is very happy with the 15 plus million dollars this movie took in over the weekend.
Obsessed prove to be a great movie in its debut going to number 1. The top movie in America drop back to the 3rd spot this past week. This movie is in the thriller category and takes a reverse approach on stalking. We often think of men as the stalkers out there, but this new movie gives the woman the lead ropes. A nice and successful working man getting stalked by a female is what people want to see right now and this movie has been very impressive at theaters. I think the new movie Obsessed would be my first choice, if I was going to the theater this evening.

Those are the top 10 movies currently playing at theaters nationwide. Does any of them look good to you?
These movies will have to make way for a new number 1 movie in America this Friday. I’m sure Star Trek will take first honors after the dust settles this weekend. This is going to be a big splash at movie theaters all over the country. I can guarantee that Star Trek will be the number 1 movie at the box office and the only question is; which movie will finish in 2nd place? Are you a Star Trek fan or a Trekie? I know there are a lot of you out there and this popular science fiction program has been gaining a fan base for over 40 years now. Star Trek started in the 60’s and many fans have been watching it ever since. No doubt about this one on May 8th and Star Trek will easily soar to number 1.
If you’re more in the comedy mood this weekend, you can check out another movie making its debut. It is called Next Day Air and this movie should do well this weekend also. Possibly the type of movie that could be number 1, but not a number 1 movie, when it has to open on the same day the new Star Trek movie does.
Enjoy the movies and let me know of the ones you’re watching. I always love to hear recommendations for a great movie you just seen in theaters or to give me the heads up about a bad movie.
