A Lesson from Brittanee Drexel

A New York Gal going to spring break in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and it was against her parent’s wishes. Brittanee was 17 years old when she took this trip. A trip she just had to take and experience; despite the loved-ones who told her not to go. Once the long drive south was over and this teen had reached her destination, she really wasn’t as happy as she thought she would be. We know this, by the text messages her and her boyfriend up in New York were constantly sending each other. She told him several times, that certain people was not being too kind to her. At one point, even ask a total stranger to walk with her, to avoid some of the things that were being sent her way.
While all young kids and even young adults feel like tomorrow is always the last day ever and rush parts of life they shouldn’t have. There are a lot of tomorrows for any young person. It’s impossible for life to past you by, because one day, you just wake up old and can look back on all the things you did do in life and with your life.
The story of Brittanee Drexel is far from being over. Since we have recent cases over the last decade or so and know that all the hope in the World is still left for this teen; who has been missing for about 18 months now. No matter how the story of Brittanee ends; she has already taught a valuable lesson to others who might want to try something as bold as she did one day. If you look around online for the name “Brittanee Drexel” you can find her everywhere. She has pictures, videos online, and even pictures from her Myrtle Beach spring break is online. While Brittanee felt Myrtle Beach was going to offer her something, she never did stop to think what New York was already offering. Sometimes we try so hard to get to a place where we are not wanted or even needed; while back at home, we are needed each and every day.
While she’s been gone, her family and friends have already celebrated two birthdays without their daughter, sister, girl friend, friend, and everything else she is to so many people. Who knows if an 18 year-old or a 19 year-old Brittanee would have did any better, against the forces that took her away. While there is a lot of good video evidence, a timeline of her cell phone traveling south, a couple of persons of interests, and other clues to help find the truth in her story. Please don’t forget the lesson she has left with so many other teens; who want to go out and travel long distances without getting permission from their parents. And sometimes just taking those long trips, only take us away from the people who care about us the most in this World.
