Cranberry Juice for Kidney Stones
I have suffered from kidney stones over the last 10 years or so and during that time I have received all sorts of advice. When I had my first kidney stone in 1995, I was told at the emergency room that they didn’t really know what caused them. They said a lot of people in my area suffer from them and maybe there was something in our local water here. Since then, the medical staff has gave me all sorts of new information and to stay away from all the cokes and tea I drink everyday.
My latest advice was to drink cranberry juice and the man that told me this, said he hasn’t had a kidney stone in the last 20 years and he believes cranberry juice is the key. I knew cranberry juice was good for the kidneys and others have told me to drink more of it, so I think I will try to add a little more of it to my diet each week. I’m not really sure if it can prevent kidney stones, but I’m sure my kidneys can use all the help they can get in keeping my body running right. The kidneys filter so many things in the body and it’s important to take care of them the best you can. I know I haven’t did a good job with mine and I will have to pay for it in the near future, with more kidney stones or having to go to a hospital or doctor’s office everyday to have them filter by machines.
Your kidneys are very important and please be sure that you are eating and drinking everything that helps them to perform properly. Don’t make the same mistakes as I did and if you take care of them, they will last you a lifetime and that’s something I’m probably not going to be able to say 20 or 30 years down the road; when I am searching for a donor to have a kidney transplant. Drink that cranberry juice!
