Playing the Daily Traffic Game
by Chris Padgett on Apr.06, 2010, under SEO
Another day on the computer and that means another day to try and direct more traffic to my websites. It’s a constant battle for webmasters seeking to gain more exposure online for their websites. The sites that get the most traffic, usually do the best in the search engines. All traffic is good traffic, but there are some types of traffic that is better than others.
Traffic that stays at your website for long periods of time is good traffic. The traffic that clicks on links and browses more than 1 page of your website is also good traffic. The traffic that shows up for 5 to 15 seconds isn’t that good and the search engines keep up with information like this. If you can find ways to direct traffic to your site and keep them there, you should see better rankings in the search engines. It’s an old SEO tip and one that continues to work in 2010. I don’t have the answers on how to obtain traffic like this and the daily game of trying to direct more traffic to my websites continue. Perhaps you have found some effective methods on getting your visitors to stay longer at your website. If so, please feel free to share your tips here and reply back with any good traffic suggestions.

You could just sign up for 1 of the BIG 3 Traffic Exchanges and you would see your traffic and referral count soar into uncharted waters. Good Content or Links for Best Google Rankings?
by Chris Padgett on May.15, 2009, under SEO
Your ready to get your website going and your all fired up to do so. You have the energy and will to do whatever it takes to get your Google PR moving up. Where would you begin first? That’s a good question and I’m not sure if it has a true answer or not. From a time standpoint you would be able to help your website faster by getting links directed toward your website. Building up quality content and keeping fresh content pouring into your site takes time. If I wanted to get my PR up as soon as possible; then I would probably go the links route.
You want as many links as you can pointing toward your website. This is the first goal for all webmasters seeking a higher PR from Google. They do state they want quality links and quality in link terms would be that it’s a link from another website that closely resembles your website. It’s not too important when you first start to get related links. You want links of anything and everything to start with and obtaining links that is about a similar subject matter can come later. You can start tweaking your links down the road and boost your link quality then; so for now just get links!
Always do a good job with new content you add to your website. Make sure that your new content does relate to your website and it is important to always have quality content. In terms of quality for content, it needs to relate like links do, but it has to also be beneficial to your visitors. It needs to be something that is unique and isn’t found in too many other places. A lot of this would depend on what your website is actually about and the theme you have going, but it’s up to each webmaster to establish a high level of quality for all the new content they add to their sites.
Links are your best route to obtain quick and positive results with Google. Your content is a way to preserve any rankings you do obtain from Google and the better your content is; the longer the shelf-life of your current PR or Page Rank will be. It doesn’t take much to get a PR 1 ranking with Google, trying to move up and maintaining that PR 1 is the tough part. Try to do something every week to increase your SEO knowledge and applying SEO techniques to your websites.
1 Way Links to Websites
by Chris Padgett on Feb.20, 2009, under SEO
You must search for sites that are related to yours to make quality inbound links. Don’t just get any website to add a link back to your website, because this isn’t doing either website any good. Linking websites need to be related in some way and it’s good that both offer quality content. Posting your link in message forums and other services similiar are okay, but you don’t want to over do it too much.
How do you find websites that match up in relevant content and is closely related? Well that’s the “magic bullet” of trying to drive your PR numbers higher. There really isn’t an exact method for any webmaster to obtain 1 way links coming to their website, but the ones that do manage to find a way, do have something that most people don’t. Exchanging 2 or 3 way links with other people isn’t too helpful either and is pretty much a waste of time. You want more links coming to your website than going out. One good way to get links coming in to your website, is to pay other webmasters for a link pointing or directing to your website. It’s not easy to find 1 way links and people usually don’t do it for free. If you really want those extra links coming in to your website, be ready to pay a little money for it.

Best Way to Market Online?

Grwoing your business online can be done through various ways on the internet and one of those is blogging.
Incoming Links Important
by Chris Padgett on Oct.29, 2008, under SEO
A website’s ranking is important and the better your numbers are the better it will do attracting new visitors. One good way to help your numbers and stats is to get links coming in to your site. If you think of your website like a lake, you will know its important to have more rivers and streams flowing in than out. If too much water is flowing out; then your lake will soon dry up and this holds true for your website too. So try to find ways and places on the internet you can get more links coming in to your site. If you exchange links with other webmasters your not really gaining much. You need to find ways to get links coming your way without giving up any out-going links. Work on driving more links to your website and you will soon learn that it will attract more traffic too.
Targeting Keywords for Marketing
by Chris Padgett on Sep.04, 2008, under SEO
A lot of webmasters these days are putting some forms of advertisements on their websites, hoping that their website traffic will click on some of these ads. Each time a click thru is recorded; it equals cash into the webmaster’s pocket. This can be a great way to generate a little extra income, just make sure that you do follow the rules of these different paid to click companies. They don’t like bad traffic or false clicks and often webmasters get their accounts canceled before they receive the first penny from these ads. I know words like attorney, real estate or mesothelioma on a website will help generate these types of ads on a website and these are some of the ones that pay the higher bucks per click thru. Instead of focusing on some these higher paying ads, your better off making up a website with things you know or have a love to update regularly. The search engines prefer these websites more and this will lead to more traffic and keeping fresh content on any website is important if you want to rank high on the major search engines. Try to add the keywords that are relevant, but at the same time keeping a focus on the niche or theme of your website.

by admin on Jul.08, 2008, under SEO
For those of you out there searching for a good host and maybe haven’t quite made up your mind yet; then I have a good place to start with. WebHostingGeeks.com is a website that ranks some of the best hosting plans you can find online today. They do a good job of comparing them with each other and it’s easy to see which one might benefit you the most. I currently see Blue Host as their top choice and they are the hosting company I use too. It saves a lot of time by seeing the web hosting rating by each hosting company. I also like to see which hosting companies throw in some extra marketing with their hosting plans and something like the Free Yahoo Marketing; can be found with several hosting companies these days. So if you’re currently searching for a good company to host your website with, be sure you check out the ones that WebHostingGeeks.com is rating.

Surfing Traffic Exchanges
by admin on Mar.27, 2008, under SEO
Taking the time out each day to surf a few traffic exchanges can be good for your website. Traffic exchanges are a great way to drive traffic to your websites and make the search engines think you have more traffic coming to your website; than what you probably really have. The increased traffic to your website will generate better search engine rankings. The higher you’re listed in the search engines, is the better your chances are for someone to visit your website from a search engine search.
SEO or search engine optimization is a good term to search for in the search engines. There is a lot of good advice that can help your website get better rankings in the search engines. There is also a lot of bad advice and no one really knows the secret to any one search engine. Just try a few of the different methods and free advice you can find online and see for your own self which one works best for you. Some search engines take longer to index your websites and please allow time for the major ones to crawl your website.
Don’t forget to use a few good traffic exchanges to help boost those traffic numbers too. You might not get the quality traffic you desire, but getting some traffic is better than no traffic. Just don’t ever give up on any area of the internet that can help you promote your website and if you use all the resources available, you should see good results for all your hard work in the near future. Feel free to share some other great ways to drive free traffic to your website and there is a lot of free ways to promote your favorite website online!
PTC Advertising Still Effective
by admin on Mar.11, 2008, under SEO
I am still getting good results when I choose to use the various PTC ad servcies available out there. Some of these websites have developed a bad name, because they don’t all pay their members on time or choose not to pay at all. If you want unique visitors to your website, give the PTC ad industry a chance. As long as your not there to earn money, they usually deliver on your advertising dollars you spend with them. The unique hits are so much more important than having someone visit your website a dozen times each day. You will find that your search engine listings get better rankings; when you find new ways to increase the unique hits and visitors to your website each day. I will continue to use the PTC websites, because they have proven to be a very effective marketing tool for all of my online promotions. If you haven’t gave them a try yet, you really are missing out on hundreds or thousdands of new visitors to your website. PTC simply means “paid to click” and usually the ones visiting your website is earning around 1 cent for paying a visit to your website. If you have something on there that they like or need, I’m sure they will return to your website in the future.
Success with Search Engines
by Chris Padgett on Feb.18, 2008, under SEO
You can have a lot of success with your website being listed high on the search engines. It’s great to have your website on the first page of a search term that might be used for your website. People rarely go to the 2nd page or further back when they are searching for something on a search engine. So it’s very important to be on that first page and to have your website listed as high as possible.
The beauty about search engines, they drive traffic to your website to the people that are looking for more information about the product or service you’re providing. Sometimes you might be advertising online to an audience that has no interest in your product or they might live in a part of the world where they couldn’t even get your product if they wanted it. Search engines are good for targeted traffic and they send that targeted traffic right to your doorstep.
Instead of spending 100′s of dollars for online advertising, be sure your website is search engine friendly and the bots will like your website. Many of the top search engines send out bots to go over your website and depending on what they find could be the reason why your website is or isn’t listed with that particular search engine. Fresh content and a good meta tag can be a couple of things that make your website more search engine friendly. You still need to find other ways to drive traffic to your website, so the search engines will give you a higher placement for key search terms that people will do, to find your website. Once you start getting listed high on some of the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN or Ask.com, you will get a better targeted audience for your website and this could mean extra sales or money for the products or services you’re promoting online. Start trying to find ways to have success with search engines and you will see this online promoting thing really isn’t that tough after all!
How Do I Increase My Downlines?
by Chris Padgett on Feb.08, 2008, under SEO
I don’t think there is a single answer for a question like that, but maybe there is? I think the best advice is to never stop and show your referral links in as many places as possible. You never know where that next member in your downline is going to come from. It’s important that you try to do a little something everyday, so you can continue watching your referral base grow.
I know many like to have a list and building up a list gives you the chance to build up downlines in many different arenas. I don’t have a list, but always try to be helpful to any members in my downline. If you have a member to contact you in your downline, try to be as helpful as possible. If you don’t know the answer, try helping your referral find the answer or ask your upline or other members if they know. Keeping a good bond with your downline folks will help make sure you maximize their efforts. Keep them happy and they will keep you happy.
Increasing downlines take time and you have to be patient. For those of you that earn for your 2nd level or further down, can really benefit by building your first level as big as you can. You just need one really great person in each level to insure the next level down will be successful too. It might take awhile to see the results from all your efforts, but hang in there and it will happen when you least expect it. Now quit reading my blog and get out there and show that referral link or page as much as you can! Good Luck!

The Affiliate Game
by Chris Padgett on Jan.18, 2008, under Blogging, SEO
How many people are out there playing the affiliate game like me? I am involved in so many programs that I can’t keep them all straight. I usually wake up every day to see that I have referred a new member to this or that program. When I see that, I usually get a little boost of encouragement from it and I will spend the rest of the day trying to promote that one program, that I just signed a new referral on.
If you want to be successful and not work all the time, then you have to build up your downlines or referral bases. It’s just a part of the affiliate game that we all have to play, but there can be big rewards later on. I already have a few programs that have taken off and I could just sit back and make a little money off of them. I have one program where I have over 300 new people I have brought in and I have been getting a monthly check from that one. I have another one that I have been in since January 1st and I have already received 2 payments from them and I am currently waiting on them to send my 3rd one out.
It seems everyday I find a new program to join in the hopes I can get a lot of affiliates under me. It also seems like everyday I find a new way to market these programs. Marketing is the key to getting any affiliate program off the ground. You have to take advantage of all the avenues that exist out there. Don’t get caught with tunnel vision either and just look to promote your programs one way. Try several different ways and continue to look for new ones and this is the way you can stay ahead of the people that are promoting the same program as you are. Good luck with your affiliate programs and tomorrow looks like another day of the affiliate game for me!
