7th Best Video of All Time

The video countdown continues and we have the 7th best video ever this time. I have already got the 10th, 9th, and 8th place videos listed here. If you want to know how I come up with these videos; then please look at the first post and where I list the 1oth greatest video of all time. One way that an artist can get on the top 10 here is by having two solid videos. Maybe they don’t have a top 10 video, but had 2 strong videos. I will award them a spot on the video countdown and list both videos in their respected spots. That is the case for the 7th best video of all time.

The 7th best video is by a very popular group called Aerosmith. They have so many great songs and videos, but I think I have found two that deserve to be on my countdown. This first video is about the people in it. Anytime a singer can put his daughter in a video with Alica Silverstone and pull it off as successfully as they did, deserves some recognition. So the first part of this video at number 7 has the lead singer’s daughter appearing in it, along with Alicia Silverstone.

7th Best Video Ever (part 1)

Great video!

Steven Tyler just didn’t stop there with using his daughter in a video. The 2nd part of this number 7 video also has the lovely Liv Tyler appearing in it. This video was very popular and it had a big Hollywood movie that help push this song up the charts. I think this video, along with Crazy makes Aerosmith a true canidate for a top 10 spot in my top 10 videos of all time.

7th Best Video Ever (part 2)

Bravo Aerosmith!

How great is life for Steven Tyler? To have a band as successful as Aerosmith and finding a way to have his daughter ride his coat tails and making a name for her self too! I’m just happy to have both of them at the number 7 spot on the best 10 videos ever. Aerosmith has a lot of other good videos and about a half dozen or so of them, could have easily replace any one of the videos above.

This video countdown is just getting started and it’s becoming much tougher to find the best videos of all time out there. They are still 6 spots left and you will want to keep up and see which videos will be appearing next and just which video will I have as the best video of all time?

10) Avril Lavigne

9th) REM

8th) Alanis Morrisette

7th) Aerosmith

6th) ?

5th) ?

4th) ?

3rd) ?

2nd) ?

1st) ?

8th Best Video of All Time

We have reached the 8th spot on the countdown for the best videos of all time. It’s time now to reveal the 3rd video in the countdown for the best 10 videos ever. If you missed the first two selections you can go back and look at the videos that have already been presented.

10th Avril Lavigne

9th R.E.M.

The number 8 video comes in on the list for its unique way this video was shot. You have one person in a car, acting like they are 4 different people. Also, they are all four singing in this video and it must have taken a lot of time to get this video shot just right. I think we all have to make a long trip in our cars sometime. Finding things to entertain us or maybe keeping us awake is a key on a long drive. I think the artist captures that in this video and gives us an idea of where her mind is while she is making her trip through a place covered in snow.

Each character in this video has their own personality. The driver seems to be the responsible one and the one in the front seat on the passenger side, seems a bit shy. It seems like there is a point in this video where she turns it loose and the girls in the back seat seem surprised but they cheer her on. The driver does her best to control the girl’s unleashed emotions, but then again she is that girl, because all 4 girls in the car is the same person.

8th Best Video Ever

A great video at number 8!

This is Alanis Morisette and the song is called Ironic. Now many people believe the song doesn’t hold up to its title. Many feel that the examples given in the song are not ironies and it takes away from the song. Alanis did respond to this:

“For me the great debate on whether what I was saying in ‘Ironic’ was ironic wasn’t a traumatic debate. I’d always embraced the fact that every once in a while I’d be the malapropism queen. And when Glen and I were writing it, we definitely were not doggedly making sure that everything was technically ironic. It’s a testament to the fact that we didn’t think it was going to be put under the microscope by 30 million people. For me the sweetest moment came in New York when a woman came up to me in a record store and said, ‘So all those things in the ‘Ironic’ aren’t ironic.’ And then she said, ‘And that’s the irony.” I said, ‘Yup.’ To me it’s a real snapshot of a nineteen-year-old’s definition and version of how life worked at the time. All that ‘Ironic’ touches on spawned all my future inquiries into and current understandings of the mysteries of life.”

I liked the video on its creativity aspect. It’s amazing that somebody could have thought up a video like this and to pull it off so successfully. It’s a great video and definitely deserves a spot on the top 10 video countdown of all time. So what video will be next? Stick around to see what the next 7 videos will be on the 10 best videos ever!

9th Best Video of All Time

On our way to the best video of all time, we stop and reflect on number 9 right now. At number 10 we had the best thing Canada has to offer in Avril Lavigne. Oh wait, isn’t Pamela Anderson from Canada? So it’s the 2nd best thing to come out of Canada and wasn’t a female whailing about a sinking ship. Avril captured the 10th best video of all time and now we move up to number 9 on the list.

This video has subtitles you can read through out the video. One portion will be in Spanish and I can give you the translation, so you can read through the whole video.

Vamos a perder toda nuestra dignidad - We are going to lose all our dignity

No tenemos mas tiempo - There is no time

This band formed in the backwoods of Georgia and became a world-wide success. Many consider this band to be one of the pioneers of Alternative Music. They had big hits with Stand, Orane Crush, and Losing My Religion. Thier top video might give you “rapid eye movement” as you try to read the subtitles going by, but I think we can all complain about something. The band believes hurt is just a part of life and they show it in the 9th top video of all time.

9th Best Video Ever

Below is the song, but you can click HERE to see the actual video to this song.

So there you have it!

We have 2 videos down and 8 more awesome videos ahead. Don’t even try to guess the number 1 video of all time, because you will never do it. As for the videos leading up to the best video ever, then you might have a shot in getting some right. Feel free to list your top video or videos and give me your list of some of the best videos ever.

Stay tuned…

Top 10 Videos of All Time!

Yes, I am going to bring you the top 10 videos of all time over the next few weeks. I have a unique criteria for selecting my top 10 videos. The videos have to be good, unique, interesting, funny, or something that grabs your attention. So that is one thing I am looking for. I am also going to be showing two videos for 1 artist that might have had 2 solid videos, but none of them were a top 10 on their own. So an artist that put out two solid videos could earn a spot in my top 10 video countdown. My last way of determining which video makes the cut is just personal taste/popularity. I will take my own personal taste into account, but will take others if the video was really popular and maybe I didn’t think it was a top 10 video. So some of the videos might be of the majority ruling and not my own personal choice. I think all of these factors combined will result in the top video of all time.

Is Thriller by Michael Jackson going to be number 1? I realize that video usually always wins in these video contest, so I am going to elect to leave the Thriller video out. It would not win my top 10 video award, but I would probably fit that video in on my top 10. Don’t worry Michael, I think I still have room to slide ya in on the countdown, without your award-winning Thriller video in the running.

So let’s get to the 10th best video in the world. Right away I’m going to give a double video award to this artist for the 10th spot on the countdown. This artist doesn’t have a top 10 video, but does have two solid videos out. These videos are fun to watch and they have a good positive message with them. They are both similar to what that message is, but they are different in their approaches to that message. If that makes sense?

The message is love. We all find it sometime in our lifetime and the results happen many different ways. This artist captures a message in this first video that makes you want to clinch your fist together and root for the underdog, because that underdog in the future becomes successful.  It’s all about the attitude and the music is very catchy as well; is why I am ranking this video and 1 more by this artist as the 1oth best video of all time.

I don’t think either one of these videos are top 10 material by their self, but combining them both together gives this artist a firm position in my top 10 videos of all time!

10th Best Video of All Time (1st Part)

Now this next one is another approach to love, but the attitude stays the same for this artist and it’s that positive attitude that makes these videos the 10th best video in the world!

10th Best Video of All Time (2nd Part)

Below is the song, the above link takes you to the actual video.

So now we have the first video of the countdown in place. What videos will make up the rest of the countdown? Stay tuned and see what video will be number 9 and what will be the very best video of all time; as we charge up the video charts!

Cheap Video Games

Video games and systems just keep coming out every year and we keep buying them every year and there is good reason why; they are fun! I have no problems with some of the older games and actually prefer them over a lot of the newer ones. If you’re a fan of the older games, you will be happy to know that you can get cheap video games from JJgames.com. They have a nice selection of games and the best part of all is that they are cheap!

Do you remember the first Playstation game that came out? It cost hundreds of dollars when it first came out and now you can find one at JJgames.com for less than 15 bucks! Now that’s really a good deal! You will also be able to find some of your favorite video games like Super Mario 64, Rumble Pak, Donkey Kong 64, Zelda, and the Star Wars Shadow of  Empire. These are just some of the games you can get and there’s a whole more than that at JJgames.com. Be sure you check with them first before you buy any new games for the kids.

Pictures Today

It is a lot easier to take pictures today; then it use to be. You can now take as many pictures as you want with a digital camera and just keep the ones you want on your computer. The old days you would have to take your pictures, send them off for development, and in a couple of weeks see what you had taken with your camera. All the latest technology with the digital cameras or something like a SD card has changed the whole landscape of picture taking.

Videos are big today too! Lots of people own their own camcorders or have one on their cell phone. So we just don’t have to take still pictures, but we can have moving video of all those special moments we want to capture on film or video. I just think it’s so amazing to see how we have grown into this new way of taking pictures. It’s not only cheaper to take each picture, but you get better quality and it gets done in lightning speed. So say “cheese” and be ready for the camera!

There is a company that can easily add subtitles to your movies that you create. Several different languages to choose from and it’s no problem making your movie more international-friendly with the help of Video Caption Corporation. They enforce quality and you can be assured that your movie will not lose his sharpness. Don’t worry about any high costs either, because they have very competitive prices for their services they offer. Runway Airport .vs. PC12 Plane

Some amazing film footage from one of the steepest slopes on a runway at an airport. Watch this PC 12 plane motor down the runway and take off from a towering mountain. You also get to see the plane come back in and land and I would imagine that is the most difficult part. I give the pilot of this PC12 plane a 10 in courage, but maybe a 2 in stupidity. The airport gets a 10 in beauty, but a -10 in safety for the pilot and the plane.  I give a 10 for the music selection in this video, because it fits the video perfectly. So be sure to have your speakers turned up to hear the great music with the video.

Rambo: The First One!

Has there every been a movie than ran chills up ya more than Rambo? Maybe Rocky? Oh wait, that’s the same actor as Rambo. I guess Sly Stallone just has something in his make up; that we like to see all the odds against him and then watch him kick butt to being an awesome fighting machine.

I think some of the lines in Rambo are priceless and you see other movies trying to copy it. Remember the governor of California when he was an actor? He had that movie Commando and they try to copy the Rambo lines in that movie. Made Arnold look like the bad man on the block, it was a good movie; but copying Rambo lines gave it a little of a thumbs down for me.

“He would eat things that would make a billy-goat puke”, didn’t just hearing that line in Rambo let us know that Rambo was a bad dude? You just knew somebody was going to get hurt after all the lines that were said about Rambo in the army tent; and it wasn’t going to be Rambo. “I’m going to be sending in 200 officers after him”; “well if you plan to send in that many, you better have a good supply”; “a good supply of what?” “bodybags!”. I’m sure that isn’t the exact quote, but I’m close when the army dude was trying to warn the Sheriff that Rambo would kill the men you sent in after his butt.

Rambo went out in the woods and pulled a “Eric Rudolph” and showed his survival in the woods to those cops that were trying to track him down. He was sharpening sticks and having them catapult right in the mid-section of the pigs that were trying to get him. Man, you just don’t mess with those dudes from the military and especially the ones that were in Vietnam. They just have that extra toughness about them and that crazy side which makes them the perfect killing machine.

Now the 2nd and 3rd parts to the Rambo story were good, but it’s hard to beat the first movie in a sequel. Rambo 1 was so good; they just really couldn’t make it any better than that one. Now I haven’t seen the first Rambo in quite sometime. I think I will look for it on satellite, so I can be sure to sit down and watch it the next time it comes on.

Home Monitoring Company

HomeCamera has asked me to write up a fair and impartial post about their company on my blog here at My Favorite Blank. While instructing me on a few minor guidelines, these are my opinions and my thoughts on a company like HomeCamera. So I guess my first task is to see what HomeCamera does as a company, since I have never heard of them before and need to find out what services or products they are offering.

My first step in my journey takes me to their website home camera. It’s a simple website, without a lot of clutter and it’s easy to see how to get started on their website. I see a tab that is marked “What Is HomeCamera?” and this is the first place I go to look to see what they are offering. It starts off with a 1 of 8 part series on the installation of their product. It appears very easy-to-use and the 2nd part of the series talks about their software working with all webcams and no need to buy any new cameras for you to use their system. The 3rd part talks about the various ways you can access the system. The 4th part deals with sharing your footage that you capture from your HomeCamera system. I think this is the first thing that really sparks my interest. It’s a great way for families to share online video footage with other family members that you might not get a chance to see a lot of, due to the distance you might live apart. I think this could be a very beneficial factor for me to get this product, so that I could share these videos with others from my computer. The 5th part details the alert system they have in place. These alerts could be sent to you by email or cell phone and could alert you of motion going on in your home or an area where no motion should be happening. This would be a helpful security feature in alerting you to timely happenings that might be going on in your home or the place you have chose to use the HomeCamera software. The 6th part is a bonus feature that costs you nothing extra and you can take video or still shots of secured areas at different times. This allows you to have recorded information that you might could use later to try and determine a time frame of when a secured area might have been breached. The 7th part lets you know that all your recorded information will be stored up to 1 month on their servers. That’s plenty of time to have this information kept for your records down the road. Then the final part shows you all the cool features of the HomeCamera system and that the sign up process is FREE!

I think the highlight of this system is the fact that you can share videos with other people online that might be in another state or country. That’s a huge benefit and I would be looking to get this product for that purpose mainly. I do think the security aspects of this software could be useful to many people. I’m not sure how this product is easier or harder to use than some of the other products that are similar to this on the market today. I’m not real familiar with this type of technology, but it would be hard to beat the HomeCamera way, because it does seem very easy to use. I have limited technical knowledge on things like this, but going over their easy-to-follow website, makes me feel like I would have no problems with using this product. Another big plus for this product is the fact that you don’t have to buy any new hardware equipment. Going out and trying to find the right hardware to match up with their software could present a problem for someone like me, but I wouldn’t need no new hardware devices to use this product. This is a free sign-up process, so other than a little time, I really don’t see anyone having anything to lose by trying this product by HomeCamera.

He Was A Skater Boy

He was a skater boy, she said see ya later boy, he wasn’t good enough for her“, is the way Avril Lavigne tells the story of how a girl didn’t give a skater boy the time, because her friends wouldn’t have approved. Then the skater boy makes it big and rocks it out on MTV and the girl that didn’t want him was all alone and missed out. Well if there’s any chance for that girl to get with him now, she better get in the skating mode. I would suggest for her to check out Warehouse Skateboards.

At Warehouse Skateboards you will find a huge selection of skateboards and tools to help maintain and repair your skateboards. The element skateboards is just one of the many brands where you can find bearings, risers, tools, grip tape, trucks, wheels, and even the decks. There are just a ton of brands you can look at from Warehouse Skateboards. Whatever type of skateboard you are in the market for check out the huge assortment from Warehouse Skateboards. They are also a good source for all your DVD’s, clothing, and pads that you might want to get with your skateboard. Be sure to leave your email with them so you can be kept up-to-date on all the special offers!

Cozy by the Fireplace

Isn’t a fireplace something that you just want to get cozy by and have lots of pillows around you? That’s what I think of when I think about fireplaces. Toasting a few marshmallows isn’t bad either. Now do you have a fireplace in your home? If you don’t then I have a suggestion for the next best thing. You can get a video fireplace DVD for your television and turn on the fireplace anytime you want. Since it is summer right now, you don’t want the heat from one, so having it on your television could be a great way to enjoy a fireplace. If you have high definition on your television, then it makes it that much better since these videos do come in HD!

There are some advantages of having a fireplace video that you can watch anytime you want. As soon as you want to put on the fire, it just takes one click. Also there is no cutting the wood and toting it in to throw on the fire. That can be a pretty messy process for anyone that has had access to a fireplace before, knows what I’m talking about. Now the same people that bring this fireplace to your living room or den also has another video for your entertainment.

An Ambient Water video aquarium is another great product you can watch from your television sets. This will make you feel like you are underwater with all the marine life as they come swimming by. If the fireplace video doesn’t relax you any, then this one will! It can be a great way to sit back and relax and I have heard that people, who stare at fish aquariums, can lower their blood pressure and stress levels. So this video could actually be beneficial to your health. There are more videos if you are interested in movies like these to sit back and watch. Be sure to check out Vat19 for all their videos that they offer and these are very affordable. Most of these videos are under 15 bucks and you will get your money’s worth out of them as you watch them over and over again. It’s great to show company or your guests when they come over too!

Comparing the Satellite Guys

If you are looking to get a satellite dish, then be sure to compare the two companies you have to choose from carefully. DirectTV and Dish Network are the two you have to choose from. I have found Dish Network to be a little cheaper and offer more channels, but they have no customer support whatsoever. If you are looking for good customer support, then Dish Network wouldn’t be a good choice. DirectTV wins the customer service award, but they cost a little more if you are looking to get satellite on 4 different televisions. Dish Network uses 1 receiver to work 2 televisions and DirectTV gives you a receiver for each room. DirectTV will charge you a monthly fee for each one of those extra receivers you get. Just be sure to do your homework and see which company currently has the best Satellite TV Deals. They are always giving away free stuff and free premium movie channels, see which satellite giant is giving the best current promotion, and that would probably be the one you would want to go with. Satellite television is great, I wish it was just a little cheaper than it is, but it’s still a better deal than cable!

Say Cheese!

Do you like getting your picture too? Yeah, me either! It is a lot better now then what it use to be. Remember when we would take our pictures and have them sent off? It would take at least 2 weeks to get our pictures back to see what they looked like. That was until Polaroid made that camera that worked like a printer and would shoot the pictures out instantly. You would just have to wait a couple of minutes for the picture to fully develop with their technology they had.

Now it’s 2007 and when can take all the pictures we want and see them instantly on our computers. If you have one of the digital cameras that can be easily found these days. I really like the ability to go snap about 50 pictures and then can bring them to my computer and choose which ones to keep and which ones to forget about. Then I can go back out and take more pictures. The new technology with these digital cameras sure has come a long ways. It even makes those Polaroid cameras look weak, when at one time they were the king of all cameras.

Now for shooting live video, I have a digital camcorder. I go to my nephew’s baseball and football games and record him with it. I also have 2 twin nephews that are about 2 1/2 years old and I can fill up tape after tape with some of the stuff the twins give me. They are never boring and are always into something. I use a Panasonic camcorder and it’s the 2nd one our household has ever owned. We did have one of those earlier ones where you put the VCR tape in them, and they were real big and bulky. So the camcorders and digital cameras have made taking pictures and capturing our memories a lot better than what it use to be.

Looking For Old Videos

Does anybody know of any shows that come on now, that will have old videos on them? I know VH1 does that little 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s thing, where they will show small clips of some older videos. I would like to see the whole video and not just clips. Does MTV or VH1 or maybe some other music channel have shows that come on, and just show the old videos.

I would really like to see some of the early 80’s videos. The one about “I always feel like, somebody’s watching me.” I think it’s by Stonewall or something like that. One Night in Bangkok is another video I would like to see again. Remember the guy from General Hospital, that sang Jesse’s Girl? I like that song and so many more from the 80’s.  Please be sure to let me know of any shows that come on weekly, that might show some of the older videos. Please give me a time and day, and I am East Coast Time, in the USA.

Baseball Card Collectors

For all the baseball card collectors that are out there. I’m sure your collection has at least one of the cards in the video below. I seen several in this video that I have in my collection. One of the cards they show in the video, is a 1987 Topps Barry Bonds Card. I’m wondering if this card will start to take off, when he becomes the new homerun king. For the talents of Barry Bonds, this card has lagged behind some of the other cards from the era of 1987. I believe they show a Greg Maddux Rookie Card that was from the 1987 Donruss Series. I bet that card is booking in the neighborhood as Bonds RC is. I haven’t looked at any prices lately from Beckett, so I’m just guessing here. I really hope the 1987 Bonds Cards take off. I do own several of them, and maybe I could find some buyers over at Ebay or something.

Florida Farmers and Agriculture

A lot of our food comes from Florida. I know that glass of orange juice I drank this morning was straight from Florida. There’s probably a lot more things that I eat from Florida, and just don’t realize it. The weather in Florida is always sunny and warm, so growing food in this part of the country is easy to do. The Florida Farmers help the Sunshine State to be a very important agriculture location for the USA. There’s no telling what products would leave the grocery store shelves, if Florida didn’t exist any more.

So it’s time to rev it up for the Farmers of Florida! Here’s a little video that just happens to do that!

Renting Movies

So which videos do you like to get at Blockbuster? Or any of the other video stores around. I have a satellite dish, and there’s a lot of movies that come on it. I rarely go to the video store anymore. However, I have to go there when I want to see a certain movie, or one they just aren’t showing on tv.

I have heard so many people talk about Lord of the Rings. Now I haven’t seen any of them. I didn’t really think it would be something that I wanted to watch. However, everybody keeps telling me just how good the Lord of the Ring movies are. So I figure I am going to have to run into Blockbuster and pick them up. I just don’t want to watch one at a time. I figured I would just rent all three of them, and just sit back on a rainy day and watch them all. See what all the buzz is about these movies. I just hope my Blockbuster Card still works. I haven’t used it in so long.
