User Generated Videos Online

The world never stops turning and neither does the people that upload their videos online each day to share with the whole world. User generated content has become a big thing and even advertisers are trying to get amateurs to promote their products or services these days. A couple of video cables or some HDMI cables and internet users can upload videos of their self, family members or anything else they choose to share with the world. I must admit watching home videos of ordinary people is addicting and I have sat for hours looking at videos at some of the more popular places online to view user generated videos. I’m not sure where this is all heading, but most can see the ideas for this is limitless. I really think advertisers can lock in to this particular area of online promotions and could greatly benefit by having everyday people talking up their products. I believe I will try to lock up my own video personality and see if I can increase my online exposure and rate of success with various programs. As long as there is young people and teens in high school that keep the videos uploading, I think the adults will catch up soon and see ways to maximize their goals with user generated content online.

New Computer Today; Old Tomorrow

It seems computers change by the minute and if you get one today, it will be out-of-date by tomorrow. The technology continues to boom in the computer world and those towers hold so much information today, that sit on our computer desks. Today’s computers have more memory, more speed and something like the video card holds so much information compared to the ones of yesterday. I think all the cables and places to plug in cables has increased dramatically too. Everyone needs some place to plug in their IPod and all of the other things that computers make better. Music is really simple to download from your computer to your IPod and this is just one of the things that make today’s computers so great. I just wonder what tomorrow does hold for the computers and just how much faster can they make them. The dual processor is a big help for surfing around on the internet and that technology has saved a lot of online users many hours each day. I hope the technology can continue to grow for tomorrow’s computers, but let’s keep the prices the same for today’s computers!

YouTube Star Bored After Birthday

Alex Explains Her Boredom

So what do you do when you’re bored?

It was just yesterday when the YouTube Sensation had her 16th Birthday and now 1 day later Alex finds her self bored. I usually get on the computer or try to find a movie on television to watch when I’m bored. I guess Alex did the same thing and came to YouTube to download her latest video. You can find more of Alex’s videos at Single Source Writing. There you can relive all of Alex’s videos as a fifteen year old girl growing up in Mexico. Alex has a lot of musical talents and those are displayed at my other blog; where you can see Alex playing the guitar and singing a variety of different songs. It’s been fun documenting her early music career through her You Tube Videos and I believe she will have many more years ahead of her. It should be interesting to see where this YouTube Sensation lands or just how much You Tube will help her to be successful with her dreams to work in the music industry some day.

I guess even a star in the making can get bored and it’s not always a super fun ride to the top. I don’t see Alex having too many more of these boring days as she waits for her big chance to impress someone in the musical field. Alex can play instruments, sing and even has a desire for composing music too. So all of her options are still in front of her and she has many roads to choose on which one she thinks will make her most happy. I think it’s just a matter of time until the right person sees the YouTube Star and all of her talents and Alex won’t be a star in the making then; she will be a star!

If you didn’t get a chance to wish Alex a happy birthday yesterday, you can leave her a reply on her birthday post at Single Source Writing. We seen what the 15 year old Alex could do and now it’s time to see if Alex can make the next step up and perform even better as we watch the 16 year old Alex. Happy Birthday again Alex!

Rudy Gay Dunk Contest on YouTube

I always love watching the dunk contest during the NBA All Star Weekend. The last few years it seems to be losing some steam, but I like what Rudy Gay of the Memphis Grizzlies is attempting to do. He has posted a challenge to YouTubers to show their sickest dunks and whoever wins his You Tube contest; he will actually perform the dunk in the Dunk Contest. This brings a little excitement to the table and I wonder just which YouTuber will win this.

Rudy Gay Dunk Contest

There is a lot of interest in this promotion and people from all over the world have been uploading their videos to Rudy. I would like to personally thank Rudy Gay for this and it makes me want to root for the guy in this year’s dunk contest. Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks has major hops and is probably the best dunker in the NBA. I don’t think Josh will be giving it a try out in New Orleans, but this idea by Rudy Gay gives me hope for this year’s dunk contest.

As I am writing this post, there has been 162 video responses to Rudy Gay’s Dunk Challenge. If you would like to get in on the fun, just upload your You Tube video to: RudyGay22SlamDunk over at You Tube. Maybe your video will be chosen and you can see a great athlete like Rudy Gay perform your dunk!

Now Rudy, if your looking in; I have found the best video response by far. I looked through the people that have submitted videos and one sticks out to me. I really like the one You Tuber that said to dunk on a judge. I could just see a legend like Julius Erving (who sometimes does the judging) get dunked on. I thought that was a good idea, but the one video that sticks out in my mind is this one!

Here’s Your Winner Rudy!

We have seen the great ones go between the legs, but to do both legs is amazing. I have the hangtime of a bulldozer and I’m not sure if I could do that just in the air. This guy goes under both legs and is 10 feet in the air rocking one home! This dunk has everything! It’s original and is a dunk you can slam home with authority. Perform this one Rudy Gay and I’m sure the judges will light up 10’s across the board! Not to mention the good folks in New Orleans getting to watch a dunk like this being performed!

Good luck to Rudy Gay and I will be rooting for him this year, just because of his desires to make this year’s dunk contest something to watch. Everybody stand up and clap for an NBA star that cares about the game and everything associated with it. Rudy Gay for this year’s 2008 Dunk Champion!

Video Games More Popular Than Ever

The video game market is a billion dollar industry. This market just continues to grow and the games are getting more advanced as the years go by. Does anyone remember Pong? Now that was the game back in the day and we use to play that for hours as kids. Pong was the best thing in town; until Pac Man came along. Now Pac Man was the bomb and that still remains one of the most played video games of all time. Ms. Pac Man was a little bit better than the original Pac Man, but it’s all called Pac Man when the subject is brought up. I remember a couple of local restaurants that had Pac Man and I would love going to those places as a kid. The song “Pac Man Fever” was a perfect song for the time. The line that says “I’m headed to the arcade with a pocket full of quarters” was so true. Every time I would see a quarter as a kid, I would think to myself “that’s enough for a game of Pac Man”.

Video games have come a long ways since the Pong and Pac Man days. Playstation and all the other popular gaming consoles have brought 100’s of new games to the homes of kids and adults all over the world. I think the adults like the games better than the kids do sometimes. I think Playstation is up to the playstation 3 these days and I’m sure we will see a playstation 4, playstation 5, etc…

I still enjoy playing some of the video games myself. I like a good baseball video game or one of the hunting video games you can play these days. Who knows what tomorrow will hold for the video gaming industry, but it looks like it’s here to stay for awhile. We can also enjoy the latest video games on our computers now and this is only going to increase the number of video gamers out there. Who could ever imagine that interacting with our television screens could be so popular?

Someone Sing Jingle Bells with Me!

Will someone please sing Jingle Bells with Alisa Apps? That is what she tries to do in this video she has at You Tube. Alisa Apps is a uniquely talented singer and song writer and she tries to spread the Christmas spirit at one of the busiest shopping districts there is. Her good gestures take place at the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade and you won’t believe the people she runs into. She had a hard time at first, but soon people warmed up to her charm and she was able to get a few notes of Jingle Bells on camera.

Will Someone Please Sing Jingle Bells With Me?

A few people seem to be in the Christmas Spirit?

Now Alisa Apps has recorded this over at YouTube and she would like to hear other YouTubers singing the Jingle Bell song. She is asking everyone that will, to upload a video of them singing Jingle Bells and leave it as a video response over at YouTube. Get in on the fun and get those videos up today! Start showing your Christmas Spirit and let’s hear that Jingle Bells tune you have up your sleeve!

~~~JINGLE BELLS; JINGLE BELLS; JINGLE ALL THE WAY…~~~
Frank Sinatra Christmas Video with Lights
Here is a little video to help you get in the Christmas mood. I was amazed when I saw this video. It must have took a lot of hard work to get the lights to do what they do in this video.
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town by Frank Sinatra
Is that amazing or what? How did they do that?
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how they did this, please let me know. I guess you could have someone near the light switch or near the place you plug in the lights and set them off that way. You would have to be a musician to know when all the right notes were going to get played or just know that Frank Sinatra song really well. The last time I was this amazed at Christmas lights on a house, is when Chevy Chase was plugging up all those lights in Christmas Vacation. I really think that Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase is one of the better Christmas movies that is out there.
Whoever made this video did a great job! According to the description at YouTube it was the Macrina Family.
Mystery: Who Shot This Video?
There is currently a search under way to find the creators of this video below. The person that posted this on YouTube didn’t know where the original footage came from and now an intense search is in progress to find the makers of this video. It’s a story of two guys that are traveling from Los Angeles to New York and they have a camera mounted to the back of their car for the whole trip. Please watch the video below and any information you know about this video; then please relay it along!
MYSTERY VIDEO
Please reply if you have any knowledge concerning this video!
Now the singer you hear on the video is the daughter of Sally Struthers (Gloria -All In the Family) and her name is Sam Rader. She is a very talented musician that taught her self. Sam Rader began writing music in her early twenties and was inspired by artists like Paul McCartney, Lenny Kravitz, Fiona Apple, Radiohead, Tori Amos, Nick Drake, Beck, Jeff Buckley and Jason Falkner. She has now created her debut album Goldstar Galaxy and it includes 7 songs. One of the songs on that album is named “Grey” and it’s the song you hear in the video above. Sam has been playing to a loyal and devoted audience for the last 7 years and now you have the chance to listen to her music for your self. The lovely daughter of Sally Struthers is described to have a “sensual voice and distinctive melodies are as beckoning and satisfying as sun-warmed sand.” I like how they used the “sun-warmed sand” to describe Sam Rader and just hearing someone described in that way makes me want to hear their singing. If you would like to hear more of Sam Rader, you can order from one of the links below:
iTunes or CD Baby
Be sure to pass the word around and let’s solve the “Grey” Mystery! Let’s make sure we let the people know that their video of two guys driving from L.A. to New York is being shown all over the internet right now! They deserve the credit and to let them know just how rad they are!
Twisted Sister - Oh Come All Ye Faithful
Christmas is in the air and even the guys from Twisted Sister are getting involved. This is a video that they put out a few years back and it’s pretty cool how they did it. They mixed one of their classic songs with a popular Christmas carrol that gets sung every year.
Oh Come All Ye Faithful by Twisted Sister
Great holiday video!
It’s always great to see a Christmas song sung in a different way. There just isn’t many people that can do it in the fashion that Twisted Sister can. Twisted Sister singing Christmas songs might be frightening for some, but I’m sure the metal heads out there love this type of stuff. It was great to see the woman in the video finally losen up and get in the Christmas spirit. It’s just not Christmas until you have had your Twisted Sister Christmas video!
Number 1 Music Video of All Time
It’s finally here! My top video of all time is about to be announced. The top music video of all time actually doesn’t even have a video for it. Does that make sense? Well I will explain that in just a bit, but let’s first look back at the top music videos on my top 10 countdown. These videos were determined by personal taste and popularity of the particular video. I selected videos from today and the ones from yesterday, so they cover a broad range of years.
10. Avril Lavigne
9. REM
8. Alanis Morisette
7. Aerosmith
6. Duran Duran
5. Nirvana
4. Run DMC w/special guest
3. Metallica
2. Michael Jackson (It’s Not Thriller)
1. ???
So there are the top 9 videos and now on to the best video of all time!
Like I stated earlier, the best video of all time doesn’t actually have a video! So how is that possible? Well the top video of all time has had many people to do videos for it, but there has never been an official video for it. The group that performs in the video doesn’t have a video for their song (to the best of my knowledge); however many different church groups have used this song and have performed several different skits for this song. There are no doubts this is the best video I have ever seen and its very powerful to watch.
The video is a little over 5 minutes long and you really need to watch the whole video to grasp its magnitude. The video starts off slow and you might not fully understand what is going on. Pretty much all the skits that have been done by this video, use the same story and dance moves to get the message across.
The story always shows a young girl that starts off with having a relationship with this holy figure. Soon the girl meets up with a boyfriend and love drives the girl farther away from this holy figure. From there other temptations drive the girl away from this holy figure, such as money, alcohol, depression, and the need to be skinny. You get to watch the story unfold as this young girl continues to get further and further away from this holy figure. This is a very powerful video to watch and if you will sit back and watch it until the end, you will see what I am talking about.
Best Video of All Time (Number 1 Video)
What did you think?
I found that to be the best video I have ever seen. There are more versions of this song you can find at YouTube.com. Just go to YouTube and do a search for Everything by Lifehouse or the Lifehouse skit. The song is called Everything and Lifehouse is the band that sings it. Other variations of this video is basically the same, where they use a young girl and the distractions that we face in everyday life and how those distractions might lead us away from the religion or holy faith that we might believe in. I thought the video above was the best skit I saw, but a lot of the other ones are good too.
So now my top 10 music videos of all time has been completed. How did I do? Did I miss a video that you thought I should have had in my top 10 countdown? Did I have a video in my top 10 that you think should have never been in any top 10 music video countdown? Maybe you saw a video I had too high or too low on the list and it needed to be placed higher/lower in the countdown. Let me know your thoughts, opinions, or suggestions on my top 10 music video countdown.
2nd Best Video Ever
I have reached the 2nd spot on my top 10 music video countdown. I have been showing the top 10 music videos over the last few weeks. You can go back and check the videos I have already listed under “Favorite Video” on my blog. Also you can check to see what video came right before this one and was my 3rd best video of all time.
The 2nd spot is a musican that has had many great videos. The artist is none other than Michael Jackson. Michael may not be cool now, but back in the 80’s he was the man! Michael wasn’t just the king of pop but he was also the king of videos. His Thriller video has worn many countdowns when it comes to these top music video countdowns. I decided not to put Thriller in my top ten music videos. Now he has a lot to choose from and some of his videos are more like a short movie. I decided to go with a video that really is Michael Jackson and this video is a classic. It’s really this video and the song that was above all of his other songs. At least for a time it was and when you heard the name Michael Jackson back in the 1980’s, this is usually the song that came to most people’s mind first. So turn up your speakers and listen to the 2nd greatest video ever!
2nd Best Video of All Time
Now that’s a classic video!
Michael had the world eating out of his hands back then. This song Beat It won a grammy for Michael Jackson back in 1982. The song was one of the leading songs on the multi-platinum album Thriller. The amazing guitar solo in this song was performed by the legendary Eddie Van Halen. The setting of this video shows 2 gangs getting ready to rumble and this was inspired by the West Side Story.
The song Beat It also got attention from Weird Al Yankovic and he redone the lyrics and the video to the song Eat It. You know you have made it big when Weird Al goes and remakes your song! Not only Weird Al, but Metallica created a lot of buzz at the 2003 MTV Music Awards and did a version of Beat It.
Michael Jackson did write this song, arranged it, and composed it. He also helped produce the song, along with another very famous producer in Quincy Jones. It’s been a long time since Beat It or Michael Jackson was popular (or at least in a good way), but you can’t deny when this video was appearing on MTV, it was just one of those videos you would have to stop and watch. No matter how many times you seen it, you just had to watch Michael get out of bed and head down to the rumble.
Michael Jackson belongs in any countdown and no matter which one of his videos you choose, you have to add a Michael Jackson video in the top 10! So Michael is on mine at number 2. So who’s left for the top spot? You will have to stick around and just see which video lands on the top notch of my top 10 music videos of all time.
3rd Best Video Ever
Only 3 more videos remain in the top 10 video countdown. I have been releasing the top 10 music videos ever and now we come to the 3rd spot in the countdown. This video really rocks and is one of the best videos I have ever seen. This is my 2nd favorite group with only the guys from Guns N’ Roses getting a slight nod over these guys.
Now imagine this, what if you were blind, deaf, had no arms and legs and you couldn’t even speak? You could just imagine how that might feel and just how lost you would be to the rest of the world. This video shows you how that person might feel.
3rd Best Video Ever
Great video!
This is the song One by Metallica. Metallica’s One is one of the most popular songs they play when the band is on tour. It was the 4th track on the album And Justice For All. The song was written by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich in November of 1987. The song made it’s way on their 1989 album and has been a big hit every since.
All the fans of Metallica and the music world got to see the debut of this video on MTV. It was shown on January 20, 1989 and the video had raving reviews right from the start. There is parts of a book and movie that you see in the video and the name of that movie is Johnny Got His Gun, which was also the name of the book too. Metallica bought the rights of the movie, so they could use it in their video for the song One. 3 videos were made for One and the one above is the best version. The other versions were shorter and one of them didn’t even have any scenes of the movie in it.
The band didn’t have any of the bright colors and flash like a lot of the heavy metal bands did in the late 80’s. They chose to do this video mainly in black and white and the band was just at a warehouse performing. You can see two of the band members playing ESP Guitars. The bass player is seen early in the video plucking the strings with his fingers and near the end of the video the bass player has a pick. Not sure if that was an error in the video or just the way Metallica wanted to shoot the bass scenes. This was a typical Metallica video in the way it was shot and had that “Metallica feel” to it.
The video was ranked 38th on MTV’s Greatest Videos Ever and finished number 7 on the greatest guitar solos in a song by Guitar World’s Greatest Guitar Songs. I have to give this video much more respect than just a 38th spot and this is definitely one of the top 3 videos of all time!
Congratulations to James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Jason Newsted, and the drummer Lars Ulrich for making it to the 3rd spot in this video countdown! A song that was written 20 years ago is still going strong.
4th Top Video
I continue the countdown of the top 10 best videos of all time. I have 6 videos down and 4 more to go. If you haven’t seen the videos already, you can go back on my blog and see which videos are on the list so far:
10. Avril Lavigne’s Two Videos
9. REM’s Everybody Hurts
8. Alanis Morisette’s Ironic
7. Aerosmith’s Two Videos
6. Duran Duran’s Hungry Like the Wolf
5. Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit
That is the way the countdown has gone to this point. We now get one step closer to the greatest video ever! The 4th video on the list is all about two music worlds colliding. Back in the day, you either liked heavy metal or rap. There was no line between the two and I didn’t know of anyone that liked both. These two groups came together and showed us just what would happen if rap ever got together with heavy metal. The video is great, because it shows both groups practicing on their own music and driving each other crazy, because they are neighbors at their respected music studios. This was a ground breaking video for rap music and heavy metal music and after the world got a load of this video, rap nor heavy metal would never be the same again.
4th Best Video Ever
Aerosmith and Run DMC both did a great job and pulling this video off. I think the heavy metal fans and the rap fans both liked this video and it brought respect to both musical talents. Today we see a lot of cross-breeding, but I always look back at this video as the pioneer to videos like Tim McGraw and Nelly performing Over and Over Again.
3 videos remain on my top 10 countdown. Be sure to chime in and let me know how I am doing. What videos would you have added by now? Which video do I have in my top 10 that just doesn’t belong? I will be back shortly with the top 3 videos of all time, so be sure you stick around and see just which video will get the top nod in this video countdown.
Best Video Number 5
I made it through the first 5 videos of my top 10 video countdown. I have featured some of the best videos ever made. I am now proud to present the 5th best video on my top 10 video countdown.
This band brought a new style of music to the scence. Their lead singer is no longer with us, and no telling what the music world has missed out on, with his early death. This band put out so many great songs during the 90’s and they deserve a spot on my top 10 countdown.
5th Best Video of All Time
Such a great song!
The music world really lost a great talent when Kurt Cobain ended his life so short and suddenly. This song Smells Like Teen Spirit was from their 1991 album called Nevermind. It was a great song from the “grunge” era. Other great grunge bands were Green River, Corrosion of Conformity, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains. Nirvana’s brief run ended in with Cobain’s death in April 1994. Since Nirvana’s debut, the band has sold over fifty million records worldwide and even today their music is still being played on the radio.
So Nirvana makes the list of my top 10 countdown of videos. Only 4 remain and it should be interesting to see which singers or bands fill up those final 4 spots on my top 10 countdown.
Think you know of a video that deserves a top 10 nomination? Please leave your suggestions or comments on what videos you would like to see on my top 10 countdown. Stay tuned and see which artist gets the 4th spot in the countdown next!
6th Best Video Ever
We are up to number 6 this time and soon we will be releasing the other half of the top 10 videos of all time. Number 6 is a blast back to the 80’s when there was so many videos that were great. It was hard to find a band as popular as this one back in the 80’s. One member of the band just recently celebrated a birthday on October 27th and it was there 49th birthday. It’s hard to imagine any member of this band being 50! Happy belated birthday Simon LeBron!
This video was shot in Sri Lanka and it shows all the beautiful scenery in that part of the world. It must have been a fun video to do and it came out great; when you can sit back and see the final product of this popular song. This song has been featured in a recent commercial, where a guy is talking out the lyrics. There is also a little bit of a dark history with this song and it was the influence of a woman trying to kill her 3 small children. Hollywood got their hands on the script and Farrah Fawcett plays the mother in this true story.
6th Best Video Ever
Does that bring back memories or what?
The song is Hungry Like the Wolf and it was sung by Duran Duran. Duran Duran started back in the late 1970’s and this legendary band was from England. They have had many hits and even today, people still talk good about this band from England. The Reflex was another big song that this band done and it’s every bit as popular as Hungry Like the Wolf. It would be hard to have a top 10 video countdown without adding Duran Duran to the mix.
Well we are half way there and now the fun comes with the top 5 videos of all time. If you have missed any of the previous songs on the countdown, you can go back and see which videos have made the list so far:
10) Avril Lavigne
9) REM
8 ) Alanis Morisette
7) Aerosmith
6) Duran Duran
5) Coming Soon!
7th Best Video of All Time
The video countdown continues and we have the 7th best video ever this time. I have already got the 10th, 9th, and 8th place videos listed here. If you want to know how I come up with these videos; then please look at the first post and where I list the 1oth greatest video of all time. One way that an artist can get on the top 10 here is by having two solid videos. Maybe they don’t have a top 10 video, but had 2 strong videos. I will award them a spot on the video countdown and list both videos in their respected spots. That is the case for the 7th best video of all time.
The 7th best video is by a very popular group called Aerosmith. They have so many great songs and videos, but I think I have found two that deserve to be on my countdown. This first video is about the people in it. Anytime a singer can put his daughter in a video with Alica Silverstone and pull it off as successfully as they did, deserves some recognition. So the first part of this video at number 7 has the lead singer’s daughter appearing in it, along with Alicia Silverstone.
7th Best Video Ever (part 1)
Great video!
Steven Tyler just didn’t stop there with using his daughter in a video. The 2nd part of this number 7 video also has the lovely Liv Tyler appearing in it. This video was very popular and it had a big Hollywood movie that help push this song up the charts. I think this video, along with Crazy makes Aerosmith a true canidate for a top 10 spot in my top 10 videos of all time.
7th Best Video Ever (part 2)
Bravo Aerosmith!
How great is life for Steven Tyler? To have a band as successful as Aerosmith and finding a way to have his daughter ride his coat tails and making a name for her self too! I’m just happy to have both of them at the number 7 spot on the best 10 videos ever. Aerosmith has a lot of other good videos and about a half dozen or so of them, could have easily replace any one of the videos above.
This video countdown is just getting started and it’s becoming much tougher to find the best videos of all time out there. They are still 6 spots left and you will want to keep up and see which videos will be appearing next and just which video will I have as the best video of all time?
10) Avril Lavigne
9th) REM
8th) Alanis Morrisette
7th) Aerosmith
6th) ?
5th) ?
4th) ?
3rd) ?
2nd) ?
1st) ?
8th Best Video of All Time
We have reached the 8th spot on the countdown for the best videos of all time. It’s time now to reveal the 3rd video in the countdown for the best 10 videos ever. If you missed the first two selections you can go back and look at the videos that have already been presented.
10th Avril Lavigne
9th R.E.M.
The number 8 video comes in on the list for its unique way this video was shot. You have one person in a car, acting like they are 4 different people. Also, they are all four singing in this video and it must have taken a lot of time to get this video shot just right. I think we all have to make a long trip in our cars sometime. Finding things to entertain us or maybe keeping us awake is a key on a long drive. I think the artist captures that in this video and gives us an idea of where her mind is while she is making her trip through a place covered in snow.
Each character in this video has their own personality. The driver seems to be the responsible one and the one in the front seat on the passenger side, seems a bit shy. It seems like there is a point in this video where she turns it loose and the girls in the back seat seem surprised but they cheer her on. The driver does her best to control the girl’s unleashed emotions, but then again she is that girl, because all 4 girls in the car is the same person.
8th Best Video Ever
A great video at number 8!
This is Alanis Morisette and the song is called Ironic. Now many people believe the song doesn’t hold up to its title. Many feel that the examples given in the song are not ironies and it takes away from the song. Alanis did respond to this:
“For me the great debate on whether what I was saying in ‘Ironic’ was ironic wasn’t a traumatic debate. I’d always embraced the fact that every once in a while I’d be the malapropism queen. And when Glen and I were writing it, we definitely were not doggedly making sure that everything was technically ironic. It’s a testament to the fact that we didn’t think it was going to be put under the microscope by 30 million people. For me the sweetest moment came in New York when a woman came up to me in a record store and said, ‘So all those things in the ‘Ironic’ aren’t ironic.’ And then she said, ‘And that’s the irony.” I said, ‘Yup.’ To me it’s a real snapshot of a nineteen-year-old’s definition and version of how life worked at the time. All that ‘Ironic’ touches on spawned all my future inquiries into and current understandings of the mysteries of life.”
I liked the video on its creativity aspect. It’s amazing that somebody could have thought up a video like this and to pull it off so successfully. It’s a great video and definitely deserves a spot on the top 10 video countdown of all time. So what video will be next? Stick around to see what the next 7 videos will be on the 10 best videos ever!
9th Best Video of All Time
On our way to the best video of all time, we stop and reflect on number 9 right now. At number 10 we had the best thing Canada has to offer in Avril Lavigne. Oh wait, isn’t Pamela Anderson from Canada? So it’s the 2nd best thing to come out of Canada and wasn’t a female whailing about a sinking ship. Avril captured the 10th best video of all time and now we move up to number 9 on the list.
This video has subtitles you can read through out the video. One portion will be in Spanish and I can give you the translation, so you can read through the whole video.
Vamos a perder toda nuestra dignidad - We are going to lose all our dignity
No tenemos mas tiempo - There is no time
This band formed in the backwoods of Georgia and became a world-wide success. Many consider this band to be one of the pioneers of Alternative Music. They had big hits with Stand, Orane Crush, and Losing My Religion. Thier top video might give you “rapid eye movement” as you try to read the subtitles going by, but I think we can all complain about something. The band believes hurt is just a part of life and they show it in the 9th top video of all time.
9th Best Video Ever
Below is the song, but you can click HERE to see the actual video to this song.
So there you have it!
We have 2 videos down and 8 more awesome videos ahead. Don’t even try to guess the number 1 video of all time, because you will never do it. As for the videos leading up to the best video ever, then you might have a shot in getting some right. Feel free to list your top video or videos and give me your list of some of the best videos ever.
Stay tuned…
Top 10 Videos of All Time!
Yes, I am going to bring you the top 10 videos of all time over the next few weeks. I have a unique criteria for selecting my top 10 videos. The videos have to be good, unique, interesting, funny, or something that grabs your attention. So that is one thing I am looking for. I am also going to be showing two videos for 1 artist that might have had 2 solid videos, but none of them were a top 10 on their own. So an artist that put out two solid videos could earn a spot in my top 10 video countdown. My last way of determining which video makes the cut is just personal taste/popularity. I will take my own personal taste into account, but will take others if the video was really popular and maybe I didn’t think it was a top 10 video. So some of the videos might be of the majority ruling and not my own personal choice. I think all of these factors combined will result in the top video of all time.
Is Thriller by Michael Jackson going to be number 1? I realize that video usually always wins in these video contest, so I am going to elect to leave the Thriller video out. It would not win my top 10 video award, but I would probably fit that video in on my top 10. Don’t worry Michael, I think I still have room to slide ya in on the countdown, without your award-winning Thriller video in the running.
So let’s get to the 10th best video in the world. Right away I’m going to give a double video award to this artist for the 10th spot on the countdown. This artist doesn’t have a top 10 video, but does have two solid videos out. These videos are fun to watch and they have a good positive message with them. They are both similar to what that message is, but they are different in their approaches to that message. If that makes sense?
The message is love. We all find it sometime in our lifetime and the results happen many different ways. This artist captures a message in this first video that makes you want to clinch your fist together and root for the underdog, because that underdog in the future becomes successful.  It’s all about the attitude and the music is very catchy as well; is why I am ranking this video and 1 more by this artist as the 1oth best video of all time.
I don’t think either one of these videos are top 10 material by their self, but combining them both together gives this artist a firm position in my top 10 videos of all time!
10th Best Video of All Time (1st Part)
Now this next one is another approach to love, but the attitude stays the same for this artist and it’s that positive attitude that makes these videos the 10th best video in the world!
10th Best Video of All Time (2nd Part)
Below is the song, the above link takes you to the actual video.
So now we have the first video of the countdown in place. What videos will make up the rest of the countdown? Stay tuned and see what video will be number 9 and what will be the very best video of all time; as we charge up the video charts!
Cheap Video Games
Video games and systems just keep coming out every year and we keep buying them every year and there is good reason why; they are fun! I have no problems with some of the older games and actually prefer them over a lot of the newer ones. If you’re a fan of the older games, you will be happy to know that you can get cheap video games from JJgames.com. They have a nice selection of games and the best part of all is that they are cheap!
Do you remember the first Playstation game that came out? It cost hundreds of dollars when it first came out and now you can find one at JJgames.com for less than 15 bucks! Now that’s really a good deal! You will also be able to find some of your favorite video games like Super Mario 64, Rumble Pak, Donkey Kong 64, Zelda, and the Star Wars Shadow of  Empire. These are just some of the games you can get and there’s a whole more than that at JJgames.com. Be sure you check with them first before you buy any new games for the kids.
