Hot in Cleveland with Betty White

by Chris Padgett on Jun.16, 2010, under Favorite Sitcom

The last of the Golden Girls is giving it one more try on the big stage. The elderly Betty White is now appearing in a new TV show called Hot in Cleveland. I watch the premiere episode tonight on the TV Land network. This new sit-com features Valeire Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick. This show started off with a plane trip to Paris, France, but the plane has trouble and goes in for a crash landing. The plane doesn’t actually crash, but instead it lands in Cleveland, Ohio. From there, the 3 friends decide to go to a bar, where they sit with 3 guys. Valerie’s character falls in love with one of them, but it turns out he (John Schneider from the Dukes of Hazard and Smallville) is married. Betty White’s character comes in as a caretaker for a home that Valerie Betinelli wants to buy in Cleveland. Now instead of going to Paris, it appears the girls are going to set up shop in Cleveland and continue with their story.

The show has already had one LeBron James joke, since he’s a big time star for the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA basketball team and a Drew Carey joke too, who is also from the Cleveland area. In Valerie’s old role as Barbara on the TV show One Day at a Time, I bet they never did a joke around the search engine Google. In her new show, Hot in Cleveland, they made two different references to the Google search engine. The first time was for the bar they found in Cleveland and another time was for when they decided to Google Valerie’s new love interest. So a lot has changed for this lady actress who was big a long time ago and now tries to start up a new TV show; along side the legendary actress Betty White.

Childhood Memories Restored: Space Giants

by Chris Padgett on Dec.04, 2009, under Favorite Sitcom

 Goldar from the Space Giants

Space Giants Goldar

As a kid I use to love watching this show. It was produced in Japan in the 1960′s and later shown in the USA in the late 1970′s and perhaps ran into the early 1980′s. I was on a 10+ year search for this classic TV show and just now discoverd the name of it. It’s called the Space Giants and to my surprise, they even have a few short clips from this classic TV program over at YouTube. It certainly brought back a lot of memories and I barely do remember this TV show. Goldar was the main character and he was the one saving the day all the time. Evil characters and monsters kept coming to Earth and was trying to take over. A little boy would always seem to find the trouble first and then with 3 quick blows into his whistle, he would call Goldar to the scene. It was all over when Goldar showed up and he would use his powers to defeat these space monsters. Goldar was a 50 foot robot and it was up to him to defend the Earth and keep our planet as we know it.

Anyone remember this TV program from the late 1970′s? You may have your own childhood memories of a TV show that you use to watch all the time. If so, then please fee free to share it. If you don’t know the name of the title, just give all the details you can and I will try to help you locate an old TV program. I think everyone has a classic TV show they use to watch as kids and probably wished they could see it again. Some programs do come back at a later time for us to watch. I’m sure most of you can remember the Dukes of Hazard when it first came out. It took about a decade later and the show came back on the air. It seemed a bit silly the 2nd time around watching the Dukes of Hazard, but it was great watching it as a kid. I even heard that the Dukes of Hazard was so popular in the state of Mississippi, they had to change their Friday night football games to Saturday night. This was because the Dukes of Hazard was so popular and no one was showing up to watch high school football in Mississippi. This was back before the VCR and when the VCR did come out; it was pretty expensive and most families couldn’t afford it.

Goldar

Did you ever watch the Dukes of Hazard or Space Giants growing up as a kid? Can you remember other popular TV shows like BJ and the Bear, Greatest American Hero, and Matt Houston? These are some more TV shows I watched growing up in the late 1970′s and 1980′s. Another TV show that ran for only 2 years (1977 – 1977) during this time was Carter’s Country. It was located in a fictional town of Clinton Corners in the state of Georgia. This was suppose to be near the home of Jimmy Carter (U.S. President) and the reason the show was called Carter’s Country. Carter’s Country featured Victor French as the police chief and it was a TV show I watched a lot back then. Are these TV shows in your memory bank some where and you remember watching them too? I really am glad that I found out the title to the show that featured Goldar and now I know it’s called the Space Giants.

Sarah Hyland Stars in the New Fall Lineup for TV

by Chris Padgett on Oct.15, 2009, under Favorite Sitcom

sarah hyland
One of the new shows airing this fall is Modern Family and it’s one of the few bright spots in the new fall schedule. This show deals with 3 families and they are all very different but at the same time they’re all very modern families. You get to see a view of 3 different families and the things that go on in their household with this new TV show from ABC. I think Modern Family is one of the top 3 shows out there this fall and it seems like the star of the show is Al Bundy from Married with Children. It really isn’t Al Bundy, but actor Ed O’Neillplays one of the men on Modern Family and there are some similarities to his character on this new ABC show as his character for Fox’s Married with Children.

As of right now, Sarah Hyland who plays Haley in Modern Familydoesn’t have that big of a role. In fact, she didn’t even appear in the last two episodes of Modern Family, but did make an appearance in tonight’s episode. It makes you wonder if there is a contract dispute some where along the lines or if this was just the intention of the show’s creators? From the cast of characters that make up this new fall show on ABC; it would seem that this cute teen would have a lot of air time and they would want to use her to pull in a bigger audience. Sarah Hyland does have a very young appearance and you would think she is 12 or 13 years old with 14 as your highest guess. She is actually 18 years old and will turn 19 in late November. These super young looks and the fact that she is an adult should open up a lot of roles for her in Hollywood. Some may remember Sarah in Private Parts, the story about Howard Stern, and she played the role of his daughter. She has also appeared in the movies: The Audrey Hepburn Story in 2000; Spanglish in 2004; and Blind Date in 2008.

Modern Family

While I do think Sarah Hyland is the star attraction for all of the new shows this fall on TV, I think her show Modern Family ranks 3rd on my list as of right now. Another ABC show that I like better than Modern Family is the one that stars Christian Slaterand he might just be the 2nd biggest star to shine this fall. He is an ex-cop that plays a role for an organization that tries to identify the people that can’t be recognized or identified by the police. He leads his group of volunteers each week to hunt down some person that has died, but yet no one knows who they are. That is until Christian Slater and his friends get a few tidbits of information and then the journey begins as they break down all of the clues and finally get a name to match up with a body. Slater’s character name on the show is Alex Donovan and there appears to be a little bit of a mystery that is looming around his character. He apparently has a daughter that gets mentioned briefly from time to time and I’m thinking this is going to be a future episode that will involve Alex Donovan and his missing daughter. Now the show hasn’t said she was missing, but as of right now, you would have to think that Alex and his friends will get a missing girl and it will probably end up being his daughter. I may be wrong here and totally off, but it does seem a bit strange right now, how they just briefly mention her and then the show moves on. I guess we will have to wait and see where The Forgotten takes us this fall.

flash-forward

Now I have named the 3rd best show (Modern Family) and the 2nd best show (The Forgotten), I think it’s time to announce the best new show to debut this fall. If you have seen the show already; then I am sure you recognize who is in the picture above. If you haven’t watched the best new show to come on TV this fall; then I will let you know what it is. I think the top new show is Flash Forward. I would recommend setting your VCR or DVR for this one and it airs on Thursday nights and it is another ABC show. I think ABC is the top network this fall and they won with the best new shows this year.

Even though FlashForward is my pick as the top new show, it still isn’t that great of a show. There is enough drama and suspense in this show that makes you want to watch it each week, so you will know what’s going on. Basically the show started off with a boom and it didn’t take long for everyone in the world to black out. I’m guessing we saw the blackout after the first episode had been on for 5 minutes. Everyone in the world (almost everyone) did black out and each person saw a quick glimpse into their future. It seems the whole world loss consciousness for 137 seconds and no one knows why. The show has you on your tip toes each week to see why the blackout happened and what is up with the 137 seconds. The lead character is Joseph Fiennes (pictured above) and he plays the role of FBI Special Agent Mark Benford. His flash forward focused on him trying to solve the blackout and now he is trying to catch up and solve this mystery; before a set date in 2010 gets here. This probably isn’t the best new show television has ever gave us, but it is the best one they gave us in 2009, so try to enjoy it the best you can.

Black Gold Gearing Up for Season 2

by Chris Padgett on Aug.19, 2009, under Favorite Sitcom

YouTube Preview Image

Season 1 is over and many tuned in to see truTV’s Black Gold and quickly became fans of these hard working men trying to make a living in the hot Texas heat. An exciting new season is now planned for this month and the debut of season 2 can be watched tonight (August 19th) at 10 PM EST. Everyone will want to watch tonight and see what tough challenges these men face; while trying to strike black gold in Western Texas. It’s not going to be easy and they will have to try and drill 4 holes in 50 days and this has never been done before.

Have you ever seen truTV’s Black Gold drilling before? The same people that created World’s Deadliest Catch and Ice Road Truckers are the ones that started the Black Gold reality series too. These guys have a great way of showing real reality television and they seem to know which people has some of the toughest jobs in America. The men working so hard to drill that oil in Texas must be proud that their stories are getting shown on TV and more people can respect the hard work they do everyday. Anyone that thinks oil drilling would be a good job for them, better watch Black Gold first. This job isn’t for everyone and it does take a special breed of cowboy or roughneck to work in the oil fields of Texas. I’m sure the job interviews would be interesting to watch and most of us might not make it past this point of the job. You have to be able to work long hours, work at a fast pace when needed, and basically have no fears for your safety. These guys get hurt a lot and dealing with pain is an everyday thing for these roughnecks. If you could make it past the job interview and done your job well on the oil fields; then I’m sure you could make a lot of money for your hard work and pains. I doubt any military boot camp would be as tough as this job and all the daily stress these guys face.

Season 2 is ready to air tonight and you can check the local listings in your area to see when Black Gold will come on tonight. You can go watch the truTV’s Black Gold trailer to learn more about the show and to get you pumped up for season 2. We will all have to watch and see if they can drill 4 holes in 50 days and what obstacles lay in their way as they try to accomplish this feat.

Best Thing on TV Today?

by Chris Padgett on Aug.09, 2009, under Favorite Sitcom

Are there any TV shows that come on each week that you must watch? What are the top sitcoms on the TV screens right now? I’m not sure I have a favorite, but still watch a lot that are in syndication from the last decade or so.

The movies are getting better and you’re starting to see more creativity from Hollywood these days. I’m not sure the television writers have caught up to the movie producers and still a lot of bad shows on TV right now. The Bachelor, American Idol, and other reality shows have reached their peak and Americans are not wanting to watch these as much these days. We need a new TV series that will grab our attention and have us tuning in each week to watch.

I’m not sure what the best thing on television is these days. The show House still has a nice fan base and this Fox show is still pretty popular right now. After you go past House, I’m not really sure what is the next hottest show on the air today. It seems Desperate Housewifes is not as popular as it once was and the ladies on Hysteria Lane just isn’t working anymore.

We need more TV programs this Fall that will make us stand up and take notice. What shows will come to TV this Fall and make Americans want to set their VCR’s and DVR’s to record it? This is a big question right now and more satellite and cable subscribers may just tune in to the movie channels and educational channels this Fall, if the TV producers continue to lack quality programming. If television was a stock right now, I would have to say it’s on the down-trend. Don’t buy TV programming right now and wait for a better product to be created first. That is the tip of the day I have for people that want better sitcoms on our television screens.

Save Money on your TV Bill

by Chris Padgett on Mar.25, 2009, under Favorite Sitcom

I like to watch television as much as the next person does if not more. I am a TV junkie, so it’s important to watch all my favorite sitcoms and sports that come on. I have to own a TV and for me it is a necessity for life. I don’t like over paying for my TV bill though. Cable can really set you back each month and they do have limited channels they offer their customers. Anyone currently on cable may want to think about making the switch to Dish.

The guys from Dish Network can come out and install your satellite and the boxes for free! You don’t have to worry about paying installation fees or paying for your equipment. As long as you plan to keep your satellite for a certain amount of time and that’s the easy part; satellite TV offers a ton more channels than cable TV offers. I think this is the best part about Dish Network, but they also offer you a cheaper bill each month. Does you cable company have any packages for less than $10 a month? You can get a Dish Network package for as little as $9.99 a month! Now that’s a bargain and no one should still be using cable these days. Everyone should have a satellite on their roof top or out in the yard to start enjoying all the great programming that is available with Dish. If you’re currently a cable subscriber; just switch over to satellite for a test drive and you will see how much better it is than cable TV.

The 4 Judge Idol

by Chris Padgett on Mar.13, 2009, under Favorite Sitcom

The popular show American Idol is getting just as much buzz this year as they have for the last several years. The show’s fame continues to attract TV watchers in America and other countries too. It has certainly become a staple in American television and you wouldn’t think the Idol would want to be tweaking anything. For some reason they thought adding a 4th judge to the panel would make things better. It doesn’t seem to be working out too well and the show runs into a real dilema if the votes are even by the judges.

When the show featured Randy, Paula, and the lovable Simon as judges it made a tie impossible. You might have a difference of oppinion with the American Idol judges, but having the 3rd person there created a tie breaker. Now with a 4 judge panel casting votes and oppinions on the singers trying to advance each round, it makes a tie very possible. They really should stick to the basics and keep producing shows that made the TV series popular in the first place. Trying to tweak a good thing is playing with fire and it should be interesting to see how many judges make up next year’s season of American Idol.

NASCAR Goes to Hotlanta

by Chris Padgett on Mar.08, 2009, under Favorite Sitcom

atlanta

The weather has been beautiful all weekend in Atlanta for racing. Today NASCAR travels to the racetrack located just below Atlanta, Georgia in Hampton for the Kobalt Tools 500 race. The race car fans in the Peach State love NASCAR and their favorite drivers; when they see them make those fast laps around the Atlanta Motor Speedway. The track in Atlanta is the fastest track NASCAR has on their racing circuit. The residents of Georgia like to know that their track offers the highest speeds possible for these talented drivers that make up the NASCAR racing series.

The veteran Mark Martin will be sitting on the pole for Sunday’s race and Kurt Busch in the number 2 car will be on the outside row; next to the pole winner. The 2nd row will be Jamie McMurray and Juan Pablo Montoya that will try to apply as much pressure as possible to those front row guys. Starting from the 7th position will be Jimmie Johnson and he is usually a factor in any NASCAR race.

Kyle Busch was the winner of last year’s race in Atlanta. I think this year’s race might belong to Jeff Gordon and he’s off to a good start in 2009. Jeff Gordon is tops in the standings right now and he will be trying to increase his lead on Sunday afternoon. Most fans in the stands at Atlanta Motor Speedway will be rooting for Dale Earnhardt Junior and you should hear a big roar from the crowd if he manages to take the lead on any lap Sunday.

Conditions are great for racing in Atlanta and it’s looking like the air temperature will be around 66 degrees at the start of the race. The track temperature will quickly warm up and will be much warmer than the air temperature. 43 cars flying around the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Atlanta is a great site to see and I’m looking forward to the start of the race. Let’s just hope all the drivers take it easy early and we don’t have any big crashes at the start of the race. These super high speeds can cause a lot of damage to these cars if they do get in a fender bender. The field will stay pretty tight in the beginning and every driver will have to be up on that steering wheel guiding them around a very fast race track. I doubt we make it 100 laps with no caution, but 40 to 50 laps of green flag racing, will let us know early who may have the car to win it all on Sunday.

The guys are now pacing their self around the track and the green flag is about to turn them loose in Atlanta. If you like NASCAR and like a good race, make sure you tune in to FOX and watch the race live on TV. You won’t see the cars going this fast until they return to Atlanta’s track again in the fall. This is the race that every fan should watch, so they can see just how fast these guys can go around the track. Let’s go racing!

One Very Nice TV

by Chris Padgett on Feb.20, 2009, under Favorite Sitcom

A TV is not just a television set to some and the size and quality of the picture is very important to some. If you’re searching for a really nice television set, it isn’t going to be cheap. You do need to spend the money to acquire one of the nicer TV’s on the market today. I found one that isn’t right for everybody, but those looking for a good television set; will certainly get that with the Sharp 46″ LCD HDTV.

sharp-tv

This is one great television set that anyone would like to own, if they have room for a 46 inch TV. I’m sure most would make room to have this TV set to watch all their ball games and favorite shows on. This would be the perfect television for me and my family and we would love to own this specific TV. Before you get ready to go out and buy this TV, keep in mind the price. This is a $3,000 TV set and I know this is out of most people’s price range. You can look for a sale and save some money. I know Buy.com is offering this at a great reduced price and you will only be paying about $2300 if you order it from them. No one should pay the full amount when you can knock off about $700 from the price and Buy.com does this with a lot of the various products they carry. Before you get ready to purchase a TV, be sure to check with them first and see what sales they have available online. Sharp does make some other very good TV’s that offer HD and other features for a super quality picture.

Miley Cyrus Turns 16

by Chris Padgett on Dec.01, 2008, under Favorite Sitcom

miley16.jpg

Happy Birthday to Miley Cyrus! The daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus has struck the golden age of 16 and now she can go out and get a driver’s license like every other kid living in America today. Well Miley isn’t exactly like every other teen going up today and the 18 million dollars she made last year has a lot to do with it.

The only person that might be slightly more popular than Miley these days is Hanna Montana. The Disney show Hanna Montana is a fan favorite among the young folks and I think Hanna is a bit more popular that the new birthday girl Miley Cyrus.

I’m not sure what type of car a 16 year old goes out and buys these days, but it must be nice to have a few million dollars with you when you go. I could just imagine the car salesman or saleswoman that gets a chance to see Miley Cyrus walk onto their lots. I think the car place worker that does manage to be lucky enough to grab Ms. Cyrus as she enters the car lot will be having a Merry Christmas this year.

Happy Birthday to Miley Cyrus and may your next 16 years be better than the last 16!

Henry Rollins on IFC Channel

by Chris Padgett on Nov.29, 2008, under Favorite Sitcom

Henry Rollins has a very interesting way of telling jokes and being a comedian. He first was in the music business and use to be in a band called Black Flag. You then started to see Mr. Rollins appearing on a few Hollywood movies and now we have his comedy act that tours the world. He isn’t really a joke teller in the normal sense, but he tells stories of his early days and other things he thinks audiences will like. Some of it is really funny; while some other parts of his act aren’t really that great. I just seen a recent showing of his comedian act on the Independant Film Channel or IFC. I would give him a 7 on this performance with 10 being the best. It’s something to set the DVR to and watch one day when you got nothing else to do. It’s not the type of show you want to miss your favorite sporting event or prime time show for. I’m not sure how good his musical career was or is going, but I wouldn’t quit the day job quite yet if I was Henry Rollins. He is a very good story teller and he scores a 10 on that part of his act. He does deliver things in his act with honesty and he doesn’t hold back with the tongue any either. His routines are not for the kids, but go check him out sometime when your looking for something to do and you’re an adult.

Digital TV is Coming

by Chris Padgett on Nov.28, 2008, under Favorite Sitcom

We only have a couple of more months to get ready for the digital airwaves to start coming in to our television sets. People with antennas or “rabbit ears” on their sets won’t be able to pick up digital television programming in 2009.  You still have about 3 months to get a cable or satellite provider to help with this new change. I think the majority of us are ready for the change, but they are still some people out there that haven’t adjusted to the changes yet. If you want your televisions to still work, you must get a converter box or sign up with a company that offers television programming. You may just want to go ahead and buy a new tv too and get one that has HD capabilities. This is a high definition picture that brings out the clearest picture possible. There is going to be more and more HD programming in the near future and now would be a good time to take advantage of high definition. A new television and a converter box will be sitting on a lot of tv stands when the spring of 2009 gets here. So just be prepared for the digital age that is on the horizon, but you don’t have to worry about this if you already subscribe to satellite or have a tv cable company.

Crime Shows on Television

by Chris Padgett on Nov.16, 2008, under Favorite Sitcom

I really don’t see why the CSI shows are so popular on tv these days. CSI is the initials for Crime Scene Investigation and the CSI programs deal with non-fiction stories. They are a lot of good programs that come on each week that deal with true-life stories. Many of these cases get solved with some type of DNA testing and you can see how real investigators have solved crimes from the past. DNA is still relatively new to solving crimes and when a crime isn’t solved immediately, it becomes a cold case. Cold cases are getting solved today thanks to the advancements in DNA technology. So for me, I would prefer to see real stories being solved with the help of DNA; than the fake shows that are so popular on television these days.

Married with Children Back on Television

by Chris Padgett on Oct.29, 2008, under Favorite Sitcom

I use to love watching Married with Chrildren. Al Bundy is the man and I use to watch him all the time when they were on tv. I haven’t seen the show recently and was wondering why it wasn’t on television anymore. I now see that a few stations have started to show Married with Children again and it’s just as funny now as it was back then. I just watched the episode where Peg borrows money from Al and promises him a steak dinner. She insteads go shopping with neighbor Marcy and buys a night gown that she hopes will attract Al. It doesn’t go as planned and Al only wants his steak dinner. He doesn’t even notice the night gown and the man only wants his food. Peg doesn’t give up that easily and starts buying a different outfit each day, but all Al can think about is that steak dinner. So Peg finally realizes she needs to get the man a steak. She doesn’t let him have it so easy though and Al must “perform” before he can have his nice steak and soon a pattern begins where Peg gives Al food and Al returns the favor with affection. It’s a pretty good episode and now that they are on again, I will be tuning in to more of the shows. I think Kelly Bundy has a lot to do with why I was a fan to begin with but the overall show is really funny. I think Married with Children was one of the best sitcoms of the 1990′s and glad to see a couple of networks introuducing us to the Bundy Family again.

The New Chiller Channel

by Chris Padgett on Aug.19, 2008, under Favorite Sitcom

Have you had a chance to see the new channel that is called Chiller? I really like this new channel and I wish it would have come out when I was a kid. It features nothing but horror movies and scary shows on the Chiller channel. I have seen some really good movies already and I also like the different television series they show. Friday the 13th the series is shown regularly; you can also see Night Gallery, Tales of the Crypt and Tales from the Darkside to name a few. It’s not too much longer until Halloween will be here and I’m sure they will have a marathon of movies for us to watch on Chiller. I like watching all of the Freddy, Jason and Michael Myers movies they are. These horror pictures never get old and I can watch them over and over again. Halloween and Friday the 13th are my favorite movies, but Nightmare on Elm Street and Child’s Play is also high on my list. I think Freddy and Chucky have the comedy down and they will make you laugh as they terrorize and kill people in the movies they are in. Amytiville Horror is also a great series of movies that I think is a must watch if you have never seen them. A lot of these movies I am naming do come on Chiller and you can see other great scary movies too. I have Dishnetwork Satellite and the Chiller Channel is on 199. I’m not sure if cable has it yet or if Direct TV has been able to add it to their line up. If you have Dish, then just turn it to channel 199 and you can see horror shows and movies 24 hours a day. I mean you will get all the gore and blood you can handle and the scare never ends on the new Chiller station.

No TV in 2009 for Some

by admin on Jun.06, 2008, under Favorite Sitcom

All of the television stations will be changing over to a digital broadcast in 2009 and will no longer work with an analog reception. So what does this mean for you? Well maybe nothing and you might not notice it if you currently use a satellite provider like Dish Network or Direct TV or if you’re currently a cable subscriber. Those companies are ahead of the curve and they will have everything in place and ready to go for their customers. The people that will have to change the tv viewing habits, will be the ones that currently use an antenna to get local programming in the area. So if you are watching television via antenna, please be aware of the upcoming changes in February 2009. No television sets will be getting a signal then, so this mean no pictures will be shown on your tv.

This is a move to help everyone get a better television reception and is being led by the government. I currently use satellite television and I will be fine when these new changes take place next year. I do feel bad for the people that live outside of the cities and don’t have a cable service that runs in their area. These folks can still get a satellite dish and they are 2 major companies to choose from, but it doesn’t mean an extra bill coming into the household. In many cases, people that live in these areas and don’t already have a satellite dish, is because they can’t afford it. If you live far away from a big city, I’m sure jobs are scarce and money is probably tight in a lot of these households. So these folks will have 1 of two choices to make; they can get the dish which won’t be easy to afford or they can go without watching television. Television and radio has always been a great value in our country and use to, if you just owned a tv or radio, you could see or listen to what you needed. Now that is no longer the case and television won’t be watched by as many Americans starting next year. Radio will still be free for us to listen to all our favorite tunes, but how long will the music continue to come in for free? Hopefully these changes don’t continue like they appear to be and who would have ever thought that air at a gas station would cost us 75 cents? If they can charge us for air at those prices, take away our television programs; then I’m sure the music coming from our radios is just a little time away.

What’s the Big Deal with Miley’s Photos?

Miley Cyrus Photos Cause Uproar

miley_1.jpg

The 15 year old Miley Cyrus better known as Hanna Montana is causing a lot of buzz due to some racy photos. Vanity Fair started this uproar by putting photos of Miley in their latest edition and the photos show Miley Cyrus half clothed. The photos are shown in an artistic way and I don’t think the photos are anything to be talking about. Miley’s parents were there during the photo shoot and if they don’t have a problem with it, I’m not sure why anyone else would.

Now this attention has caused some other photos to turn up and people want to turn the sweet and lovable Miley Cyrus into the next Brittany Spears. While the photos are a little in question in taste and showing photos like this 30 years ago would have certainly caused an uprising, I just don’t see the commotion in 2008. Has anyone been to the malls or movie theaters to see how the 12 year old girls are dressing? This isn’t saying they are wrong and Miley is right, it’s just that our times are changing and 12 year old girls wear clothes that show the mid-drift or belly area. You do see a clear change in what a 12 year old girl wears, compared to what a 14 year old girl would wear. Now Miley is 15 and with all her fame and fortune she does need to create and send a positive message to the young girls out there. I think Miley has been a good role model for young girls and if they are too squeaky clean, they aren’t going to seem like the All American Teenage Girl. I think Miley has been squeaky clean for too long and these photos will do more good than harm.

Don’t you remember being a kid and your parents telling you something you shouldn’t do? When adults say don’t, that just means it something that kids will want to try. All the concerned adults and parents out there that is blowing these Miley Cyrus Photos out of proportion; you’re only creating a stronger bond between Miley and her fans. So if you think what Miley Cyrus done was really that bad, you might just won’t to bite your tongue and let your kids make up their own mind.

Is there anyone out there that seriously thinks we should be talking about these photos? Do you feel these photos are really that bad? I would have no problem posting any of the controversial photos on my blog. If I was just browsing through Vanity Fair or any other magazine and saw the photos, I would have not thought twice about it. I’m surprised so many people rushed to judgment and made Miley feel like she had to apologize. Don’t apologize Hanna Montana, you did nothing wrong! She created a billion dollar empire for her self and I don’t see these Hanna Montana Photos doing anything to dent that!

I think Disney’s Hanna Montana and Miley Cyrus will be ok!

Is Gilligan Really to Blame?

by admin on Feb.24, 2008, under Favorite Sitcom

Can we blame poor ol Gilligan for getting everyone stranded on that tiny little island in the Pacific? I think we have to first look at the Skipper and did he really know what he was doing? If the professor is so smart, why couldn’t he have figured out that the storm clouds was getting worse that sunk that tiny little ship? You have to also look at the Howells and all the money they had and why not with all their millions, did they not have a cell phone? You know one cell phone, someone that could have forecasted the storm or a good skipper on the S.S. Minnow and this whole tragedy could have been avoided.

I’m not sure if Ginger or Mary Ann could have done anything different to prevent the passengers all getting stranded. I just think we should start spreading the blame around more and not putting the accident or all the failed rescue attempts on Gilligan’s shoulders. I think Gilligan did a lot on the island to keep the other people that was stranded there on their toes. I really did wonder why the professor and skipper could have not put their heads together and built a ship to rescue them off of that island. Just remember the next time you sit down to watch Gilligan’s Island or that all day marathon that might come on, to not blame Gilligan and hold the others responsible too!

Alyssa Milano on Earl, Writers Strike and Politics

by Chris Padgett on Jan.14, 2008, under Favorite Sitcom

So have you guys been watching Earl? He comes on NBC every Thursday Night at 8 Eastern Time. I have really liked watching the show and it looks like Earl will be out of prison now. I never thought he would have stayed that long in prison, but there were some really funny parts while Earl was in prison. You will also get to see Alyssa Milano in upcoming episodes of Earl.

I started watching Earl when I read that Alyssa was going to start being on the show. She has recently came out and said that she was suppose to be back on December 2nd, but due to the writers strike, things were a little screwed up right now. Alyssa Milano does support the writers in their strike and she thinks they deserve a bigger piece of the pie for all the hard work and effort they do in bringing us great shows on television like Earl.

Alyssa Milano is also encouraging people to get out there and vote. It looks like John Edwards for president is getting a big boost from Alyssa’s corner, because Alyssa Milano’s leading canidate for President is John Edwards. Other canidates that she likes is Joe Biden, Bill Richardson, and Denis Kucinich. I think John Edwards would be a solid choice for President and think they will be a lot of support for him. It’s always great to have star power on your side in polictics and Alyssa Milano is a big star to have in John Edwards corner.

Alyssa Milano will be in a movie that is coming out in the near future. A release date hasn’t been said yet, but the name of the movie is Wisegal. Wisegal is a movie that is based on a true story. The true-life story of a woman with two sons and trying to put food on the table for them, she ends up taking a job with the mafia. When some of the fellows in the mob start to influence her two sons, is when she tries to get out. It’s not always that easy and trying to get out of the mob could be deadly. I can’t wait to see this new movie with Alyssa Milano in it and I’m not even sure if it’s a big screen movie or just a movie that will come on television. So be sure to be on the look out for Wisegal with Alyssa Milano in it!
