by Chris Padgett on Apr.24, 2010, under Cosmetic Surgery

A cosmetology school in Virginia is ready to take in new students that have dreams of working in the beauty shops across the country. The school’s name is the Regency Beauty Institute and they are really growing fast right now. In the past 8 years, these two Minnesota beauty schools has grown to 30 and located in 9 different states. They continue to grow and a new Regency Beauty Institute is popping up all the time. A person that seeks a job in the cosmetology field, should check out this school and learn why it is the fastest growing beauty school right now in the country. This is a good sign to look for, if you’re interested in a career in this line of work. It should be real easy for those living inside the borders of Virginia to find a Regency school near them!

Planning for Surgery

by Chris Padgett on Feb.20, 2009, under Cosmetic Surgery

If you’re getting ready for a surgical procedure, they are a few things you need to do first. You want to make sure the plants are watered and the pets are fed. You don’t want any thing sick or dead due to your time in the hospital and you never know how long your visit might last for. Even the simple cosmetic surgery procedures have the chance of something going wrong and you may need to stay longer than expected. Just make sure the animals and plants are going to be cared for and giving a friend or relative a key to your house or apartment isn’t a bad idea.

Go ahead and give the house a good cleaning if you’re able. Coming home to a house that is clean with no dishes or laundry to wash is a good feeling and this gives you the chance to be lazy when you return home from the hospital. If you plan to stay in the hospital for a few days, you will certainly be packing a suitcase to take with you. If your procedure is only supposed to last one day, you might still want to get out the luggage and pack a few emergency supplies just in case. A few extra clothes, your toothbrush and hairbrush isn’t a bad idea to throw in the suitcase. You don’t have to carry this to the hospital with you, but leaving it with a friend or where someone else can get it, will be great if an unexpected emergency does arise. Most surgical procedures going very well these days and I’m sure you don’t have anything to worry about. Just play it safe and take care of the little things now and you won’t have any extra stresses if something does go wrong.

Lithotripsy for Kidney Stones

by Chris Padgett on Feb.06, 2009, under Cosmetic Surgery

I wanted to see what people thought about surgery in general. I know some stories are good to hear about how a surgical procedure allowed someone to do something they couldn’t previously do or haven’t done in years. On the flip side, some stories are not success stories and surgery only made the problem worse or created new problems. What is your opinion on sugery in general?

I have never gone under the “knife” but I have had the lithotripsy procedure done before and it’s considered a surgical procedure. Lithotripsy is a shockwave treatment and used to bust up stones in the kidney that are too big to pass. I have had dozens of kidney stones in my lifetime and they are no fun. If you have experienced the pain or know someone that has had a kidney stone before; then I’m sure you know all about the pain a kidney stone can create. If a kidney stone is located inside the kidney and is too big to pass, the doctors have to perfom lithotripsy to bust it up. The shockwaves from this procedure will turn the stone into sand for the most part. Some bigger pieces of the stone that break off may be a little hard to pass, but most of the stone will get broke up from lithotripsy. They will put you to sleep when you have this done and you won’t be in too much pain when you awake in most cases. I have went through the lithotripsy process two times and it really helped me both times. I was given plenty of pain medication after the procedure and a prescription to take home. The pain medication at the hospital was needed, but once I got home, there wasn’t a big need for any medication. I was given 60 pain pills for any pain that may creep up in the days after the procedure, but only about 10 to 12 of the pills were needed. I would strongly suggest saving the extra pills after lithotripsy, because you may have another kidney stone in the future and the pills do help some with the pain.

In my case surgery did work and was the answer to my problem. I think it is different for those that actually get cut from surgery. I have no scars from the shockwaves a lithotripsy procedure uses, but people that “go under the knife” will have scars. Surgery is a life-saving process and people everyday go on to live longer due to surgery. People with non life-threatening problems that require surgery, may be quite angry to see the surgery didn’t help or made things worse. Surgery can be a gamble and everyone should weigh the risks before choosing surgery as the answer.

Lap Band Surgery Might Not Be the Answer

by admin on Jul.19, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

Something else that can help is diet pills. Knowing exactly which one to take can be a daunting task with so many to choose from on the market today. ConsumerPriceWatch.net can help you pick out which diet pill might be right for you. They do a good job at comparing some of the most popular diet pills on the market and this can be a very useful tool in selecting a new diet pill for you. Even if you are currently taking diet pills right now, you might want to check to see where yours ranks on the list and see if you could be using one that might be more effective. They just don’t look at 20 or 30 different types of diet pills, but they carefully evaluate more than 200 diet pills! They take a 12 Point Criteria on each diet pill and this is how they determine their rankings. A few of these criteria points are based on value, safety, long-term benefits, company reputation and weight-loss potential. I thought these were some of the criteria points that are important to me. You can go check out the rest of the points they use to determine how they rank each diet pill company and their products at ConsumerPriceWatch.net. Also be sure to see which diet pills they rank as their 10 best and be sure to control your diet and do a little exercise daily too. Good luck with your diets and stay away from surgical procedures if possible.

Kidney Stones Too Big To Pass

by admin on Jul.16, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

Kidney stones can be one of the most painful experiences you will ever have. I should know I have had about 30 of them over the last 12 years. Most of the time you will pass them, but sometimes they get too big to pass. If you have a kidney stone in the kidney that gets too big and there is no way for it to leave your body, other means must be done. The most common and easy way is to get shockwaves to bust up the stone. I have had this procedure done twice and they put you to sleep when they do it. They just bust the stone up with shockwaves and then it passes through your system. You will pee sand out the first time you go to the bathroom after you have had this type of surgery. Sometimes they have to cut you and go in and remove the stone, but usually other things can be done to prevent this. I feel sorry for all of those that have had kidney stones in the past. They are no fun to deal with, but if you watch you diet better, you can avoid them.

Stem Cell Technology

by admin on Jul.03, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

The stem cell topic is more popular than ever and even the presidential candidates have to deal with questions about stem cell research. While this topic is still heavily debated on if it is right or wrong for us, the technology continues to grow in leaps and bounds. Cryo-Cell Innovative Stem Cell Solutions is pushing that technology even further today and this can be very exciting for the moms that are getting ready to deliver soon. Moms that will be delivering a new born baby soon can have a free rush cord blood kit sent to them and it can even be sent overnight, so it will arrive in time for the delivery. Cryo-Cell’s “Protect Baby, Protect Mom” is a family healthcare investment that could become very valuable in the future as stem cell technology continues to emerge. A lot of the technologies going on today involve non-human subjects in these pre-clinical trials. There is still a lot of politics to be played out on the stem cell issues, before it can become a mainstay in our society. I think most would agree that the stem cell technology for tomorrow is limitless in all of the areas that it could benefit humans. There have already been more than 8,000 transplants worldwide to treat over 70 diseases from all the exciting stem cell technology.

Now is a good time to get in on the stem cell craze and you can do so with a “Protect Baby, Protect Mom” Special Limited-Time Introductory Offer. You can be assured that this offer will be a 100% match with the Cryo-Cell umbilical cord blood stem cells. C’elle is a 100% match for mom and it might also be a match for one of mom’s close relatives. Protect Baby Protect Mom is an investment that no family should turn their back on and could be the best thing anyone ever invested in. I do think couples that are going to be having families soon, should really take a look at this and see if the stem cell technology might play a role in their children’s future. This might very well be the main discovery in the 21st century and it’s exciting to know that I will be around to see how the stem cell technology plays a part in our daily lives.

West Nile Virus Time

by admin on May.29, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

When the weather warms up and mosquitoes start to swarm our yards, this will be when more and more West Nile Virus cases are reported. We still have a couple of more months before we see the worse of our mosquito population for this year, but you can be sure when they come out, some will be carrying the West Nile Virus with them. For those that are healthy, they may only suffer flu-like symptoms for a few days. It’s the elderly, children and those that have immune deficiencies are at the greatest risk from West Nile Virus.

You can find tips online in several places on how to prevent getting the West Nile Virus. The main thing is to clean up around your home and make sure you have nothing in the yard or around the house that collects rain water. Standing water is a breeding ground for mosquitoes and this is the best way from preventing them in and around your home. It’s also a good idea to climb up on the roof top a day or two after a good rain has fallen and see if your gutters have any standing water in them. Be sure to fix the problem or make an effort to get up on the roof and get the water out of the gutters after every rain storm this summer.

Medical Supplies Delivered to your Door

by admin on May.28, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

Everyone doesn’t have the luxury of going to a doctor’s office or to the drug store each time they need something for their health. Some people are very sick and sometimes the elderly have trouble getting out and going. It’s great to know that some companies like DME (Disposable Medical Express) do take the time and deliver medical supplies to the doors of those people that need them. Someone that needs incontinence supplies could find a company like DME, which could bring those supplies right to the customer’s doorsteps. If you have to take time out of your busy day to go buy medical supplies for an aging grandparent or parent and would like someone to help you, see if you can find a medical company that will deliver supplies to your loved ones.

Feeling Better with Herbs

by admin on Apr.20, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

I have recently started taking some different types of herbs and maybe it’s just in my mind, but I do feel a little better these days. I have read or heard many stories about how different types of herbs and antioxidants have help people to feel better. I haven’t done anything else to help with the process either. I’m sure by having a good diet and exercising properly would do a lot more good in the way I feel each day. I still feel young, but I’m sure as I age, changing my diet and getting some exercise equipment will help make this good feeling last. Something as simple as high blood pressure can really effect the way you feel each day and no one should be feeling bad all the time. If you have more bad days than good ones, see if herbs, a change in diet and be a little more active might help. Also it’s a good idea to check with your doctor to make sure there isn’t an underlying medical condition that you’re suffering from, like high blood pressure.

What the Future Holds?

by admin on Mar.08, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

There is no telling what new obstacles or global disasters we might have to face in the future. I think many changes are going to be in the near future for all of us, as global warming continues on record pace. Who knows where the next big hurricane, tsunami or earthquake might hit on our planet we call Earth. I’m sure new diseases will be discovered and we will all have to take measures to prevent the spread of them. We might also see new everyday hazards that our bodies will have to pay for, like the ones suffering from mesothelioma today. There is no doubt that the world is changing around us and it’s up to us to make changes now or learn to adapt to the future. Don’t think these changes are hundreds and hundreds of years away and we won’t see them in our lifetime. We are already seeing the changes take place now and who knows what new disaster or disease we will be trying to lend help to tomorrow.

Cranberry Juice for Kidney Stones

by admin on Mar.08, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

I have suffered from kidney stones over the last 10 years or so and during that time I have received all sorts of advice. When I had my first kidney stone in 1995, I was told at the emergency room that they didn’t really know what caused them. They said a lot of people in my area suffer from them and maybe there was something in our local water here. Since then, the medical staff has gave me all sorts of new information and to stay away from all the cokes and tea I drink everyday.

My latest advice was to drink cranberry juice and the man that told me this, said he hasn’t had a kidney stone in the last 20 years and he believes cranberry juice is the key. I knew cranberry juice was good for the kidneys and others have told me to drink more of it, so I think I will try to add a little more of it to my diet each week. I’m not really sure if it can prevent kidney stones, but I’m sure my kidneys can use all the help they can get in keeping my body running right. The kidneys filter so many things in the body and it’s important to take care of them the best you can. I know I haven’t did a good job with mine and I will have to pay for it in the near future, with more kidney stones or having to go to a hospital or doctor’s office everyday to have them filter by machines.

Your kidneys are very important and please be sure that you are eating and drinking everything that helps them to perform properly. Don’t make the same mistakes as I did and if you take care of them, they will last you a lifetime and that’s something I’m probably not going to be able to say 20 or 30 years down the road; when I am searching for a donor to have a kidney transplant. Drink that cranberry juice!

Those Chronic Pains

by admin on Mar.05, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

Pain is one thing I don’t think any of us like. The more we can go through life without any is the better! I have suffered through a few kidney stones in my life and they are the worse pains I have ever had. I guess some others might be able to relate in their own everyday pains they might have. I’m sure the pains from PMS or fibromyalgia are no fun either. If you are someone that suffers from chronic pains and it affects your day to day activities, please be sure to see your doctor. The doctors have a lot of powers and helpful advice for pain management and no one should have to go through life with the pains and aches some of us can have sometimes. So stop hurting and find the relief for your pains; no matter what they might be.

Online Pharmacy – Drug Store

by Chris Padgett on Feb.14, 2008, under Cosmetic Surgery

For those that have to take a certain type of medicine everyday and have to run to the drug store once a month, might want to check for a good online pharmacy. This can save you gas money and that’s a good thing with the prices getting so high these days. Just simply going to your computer and getting your next prescription filled can really be easy.

eDrugStore.MD is a place you can check to see if they have the medicines you’re currently taking. They don’t have generics and only offer the name brand drugs. This would be a good place to start if you were interested in an online pharmacy. They can fill prescriptions for weight loss, pain relief, influenza, skin care or even a sleep aid that you might need. They also offer the name brand drugs for men’s and women’s health.

Have a medical question that you forgot to ask your doctor or maybe didn’t get an answer you understood? You can have all your medical questions answered by one of their physicians. It’s really simple to submit a question and get the answer you need from a real doctor. This is another good reason to make eDrugstore.MD your online pharmacy! They have been around for 8 years now and have the guaranteed lowest prices you can find on the internet!
