Georgia Drivers Urged to Fill Up Cars and Gas Cans
The fuel shortage continues in the South and now all Georgia residents better realize the seriousness of this problem. Gas is going to be a problem for the remainder of the 2008 year and the problems are a long ways from being fixed. This means keeping your cars filled up and if you can invest in a few gas cans this would be wise too. Be sure to create your own storage for precious fuel as the Colonial Pipeline and other areas of fuel coming into the State are not working at 100 percent capacity.
The recent pictures or words on the local media outlets in Atlanta are not aware of just how bad the fuel problems are for Georgia and other parts in the South. These gas shortage problems are not any better and they will only get worse as the year progresses. They hope for people to ration at the pumps, but this only leaves you without fuel if you follow their steps. Trick or treating will probably be canceled this year in the state of Georgia and we are 30 days away from that time of the year. So if Halloween hasn’t got here yet; then you know the problems are still in place. No fuel at the pumps will be the story that continues beyond Halloween and bad information is getting translated in the news programs on television and in our newspapers. The problems are not better today and they have got worse and this is going to be something we will have to deal with for a long time to come.
I know the news has told us all that things are getting better and we are now even seeing pictures of gas stations that have gas with no lines. This is just a move by the leaders of the State to try and prevent people from over-buying at the pumps. The fuel shortage is not going to be fixed in metro Atlanta until more oil gets into our region. The refineries aren’t as big of a problem as people think they are and the actual facts point to a shortage in fuel and not the refineries being down.
Now is the time to take steps to protect yourself and make sure your not the one that has no gas. It can be stressful looking for gas in metro Atlanta right now and you can relieve a lot of this stress if you stay full and have at least 2 five gallon cans of gas in supply at home. This is the best way to prevent you and your family from running out. We all have places to go and getting to work is at the top of that list. If you must drive to work and carpooling and public transportation is out of the question, you will want to build up your own fuel reserves at home and stock up on the gas when it is available. The fuel shortages in Atlanta may continue through the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays, so the time to buy gas is now! Don’t get caught on empty and stock up on gas at the pumps when you find it in Atlanta or other parts in Georgia that might be experiencing fuel shortages right now.
