Custom Design Shower Curtains That Are Simple
by admin on Aug.04, 2008, under Home Finance
I have just seen the coolest idea and not once have I ever thought about it before. I try all the time to invent something new and all of the hours I spent sitting on the toilet it was staring me in the face the whole time. It was my shower curtain that hangs over the bathtub and wouldn’t it be great if you could design your on? Not the actual shower curtain it self, but the picture or designs on the shower curtain. It’s real simple to get custom shower curtains in your home and this is a great way to perk up the bathroom. You just simply create the design your self or just take a picture that you have and send it to PhotoShowerCurtain.com and they will fully bleed the design or the picture on your new shower curtain! You could really have some fun with this project and you can get the family portrait, just the kids, the pets or any other photos you might have and put them on your shower curtain for everyone to see. I think this is a great idea and I wished I would have thought of it first. I just wonder if the person that came up with this idea, discovered it while sitting on the toilet. I know I do my best thinking there, so it wouldn’t surprise me if the answer is yes and the idea for custom shower curtains really did come from the john!
The Newest 3D Movie
by admin on Aug.04, 2008, under Favorite Movie
I have really enjoyed most of the 3-D movies that I have seen in my time. I’m not sure why they don’t produce more of these type of movies, because they do seem to be more popular than the regular movies. I remember the first ever 3D picture I ever saw and it was Gorilla At Large. They showed this on television in the early 1980′s and it was a pretty big deal with me and all of my friends. We had to go somewhere to buy the special 3D glasses so we could see the 3D effects from our television sets. They demonstrated the 3D vision before the movie started and it was cool to see things coming out of the tv. However, the things in the movie didn’t do as well and it only seem like a few parts in the movie had a little 3D effects, but nothing like the demonstration they showed before the movie started.
Well on August 15th we will get to see the newest 3D movie and it should be interesting to see how it compares with the ones that were made in the 1950′s. Yes, they were making 3D movies that far back and the actual first 3D movie might have been made as early as 1922. I’m not sure about that movie, but since this technology was developed at least 50 years ago, you would think that there would be a long list of 3D movies. The amount of movies that have been made since the 1950′s is enormous and I bet Hollywood hasn’t created 100 3D movies yet. I would guess that there has been 50 made, but I’m sure there are a lot that I am not aware of.
The newest 3D movie is called Fly Me to the Moon and it’s an animated movie that will have all of the great 3D effects in it. It looks like a super movie for the kids and one that the parents won’t mind sitting through with the comedy and extra visual effects that Fly Me to the Moon offers. The 3 main characters in Fly Me to the Moon are Nat, IQ and Scooter or you can simply call them the Fly Boys.
Fly Me to the Moon
There is more than just the 3D effects going on in this movie. As these 3 flies try to become the first flies to ever reach the moon on the historic Apollo 11 mission, the movie is set in 1969 and many of the transcripts are the actual ones. So this movie could prove to be a little educational as we watch these insects attempt their journey to the moon. This movie might even restart up the debate on if we really did go to the moon in 1969. I don’t have a truthful answer for that question, but I can tell you that 3 flies will attempt it on August 15th, 2008 and this will be when the movie opens up in theaters. Make sure you’re free that weekend and take the kids to see Fly Me to the Moon.
Finding Room for Cell Phone Towers
by admin on Aug.03, 2008, under Marketing
I’m sure you or someone in your family owns a cell phone and probably in most cases they are more than 1 member in the household that has a cell phone. Every where you go these days you can find someone talking on their cell phone or just looking down at it playing a game or texting a friend. So with everyone having a cell phone these days, this means the cell phone companies need to continue to find places to put their cell towers. In many cases they are willing to pay property owners a fee for allowing them to add cell site locations on their land. I wouldn’t have any problems allowing a cell phone tower to be placed on my land; if I was indeed going to be getting paid for it. They take up a small piece of ground space when you factor in just how big they are. Most of the size goes straight up and not much control we have with the air space above our land. It’s not like the airlines are contacting us and wanting permission to fly their jets over our land, so the air space above your property is there for the taking. If you can find away to turn that into cash, I think it’s a great idea to have a cell phone tower site to be placed on your land.
Some people do view cell phone towers as an eye-soar and don’t want them any where near their land. I would imagine that during lightning storms they would get hit a lot and it would probably sound like a shot gun when the lightning made contact with the cell tower. So they are some things to consider if you would be willing to put a cell phone tower on your property. Will the loud popping sounds from storms that contain lightning bother you and your family? If you own a lot of land; then you might be able to avoid this by having the tower far from your house. Will the neighbors make a fuss over it? Some people still have respect for their neighbors and would not want to intentionally upset them. So you might want to casually ask those neighbors you have respect for and see what type of answers you get back. As our world continues to grow daily, we are running out of land. We will have to plan better for the future and start using our land as efficiently as possible. Due to the popularity of cell phones and all the advantages they offer, I think we will have to provide the land for these cell phone towers in the very near future. So if you are against having one in your neighborhood, don’t be upset the next time you have trouble finding a signal.
Team USA Held Under 100 Points
by admin on Aug.03, 2008, under Blogging
The USA basketball team is looking great and all of the signs are pointing to a gold medal in China this year. The Olympics will be huge for the American Team and they have to prove to the world and people in China, that the USA still has the best basketball players in the world. They have been running up the scoreboard in their tune up games that will lead to the real thing in the China Olympics. Russia proved to be up for the task today and they held the USA basketball team to only 89 points. Russia’s offense only managed 68 points and the game was really never close. You still have to be pleased if your a Russian fan and to see your team hold the Americans to their lowest score yet. I think the USA team needs to score 100+ points a game and they are more than capable with all of the firepower they have. I think Kobe Bryant continues to prove he is the best basketball player in the world. Dwayne Wade and Tayshaun Prince have played solid for Team USA too and when you factor in the cast of characters that surround these guys, no team on Earth would ever beat them in an 82 game season. Now 82 games is what the NBA has on their regular schedule and they will be far fewer games in the Chinese Olympics.
Most Olympic basketball teams get a chance to play a lot with each other. It starts very early for them and sometimes they are 14 years old and getting a chance to play with someone that they will be sharing a team with 10 years later. So the USA Team does have that going against them and they don’t get a chance to work with each other like many of the basketball teams in the Olympics does. I still don’t think things like this matter much when you have such gifted players so deep down on your bench. It’s amazing that teams have beat the USA Team in Olympic contests and I’m sure we haven’t seen the last loss by a USA Team in the Olympics. I just think considering the past failures with this collection of talent will be the difference in the 2008 Olympics in China. I can’t see no team in the land beating these guys and fully expect them to bring back gold in the Olympics this year.

Southern California Rocked by Earthquake
by admin on Jul.29, 2008, under Blogging
The folks in Southern California got a big scare today from a 5.4 magnitude earthquake that struck shortly before noon local time. The residents in Chino Hills seems to have got the worse of this as this where the epicenter was located. The earthquake was also felt in the nearby areas of Los Angeles, Riverside and Palm Springs California. It is also being reported that the people in San Diego and as far away as Las Vegas, Nevada felt slight shaking from this Southern California earthquake.
I have never been in a earthquake before but it sounds like a very scary experience. The people that were in California today and felt this late July earthquake will remember this experierence for a long time. Most are describing that they thought a large truck was close by and soon after the noise and shaking became louder, they knew they were in a earthquake. The governor of California has told residents that he will use all of the emergency response units to make sure that everyone is safe and that all infrastructures are intact. Bridges and large buildings could be severely hurt from a earthquake like this. There are already 30 aftershocks from this earthquake that struck the Chino Hills, California area at around 11:42 AM on Tuesday that have been reported. The after shocks will probably continue for days and even weeks later as the Earth’s ground settles down from this earthquake. Hopefully the people of Southern California has seen the worse of this earthquake and things can get back to normal for the residents there. Just make sure you check your home and property closely if you live in this area affected by the 5.4 magnitude. Gas leaks are the most serious risk and make sure to notice for unusual odors that might be in the air. They do put a chemical in natural gas that will cause gas leaks to be noticed by people due to the smell that will be present in the air, when a gas leak occurs.

Baseball Trading Deadline
by admin on Jul.28, 2008, under Blogging
This Thursday will be the deadline for baseball’s trading period between teams. All of the MLB clubs will be looking to do something between now and then. It is now called a buyers and sellers market. The teams that expect to be in post season this fall will be buyers and looking to add 1 or 2 quality veteran players to their lineups or their pitching staffs. The sellers are teams that are packing it in for this year and will try to move a player with value for a package of prospects or young players that they hope will be productive for them in the near future.
As a Braves fan we are in a tough position. It’s still unclear if we can be in the post season or not, so management has a difficult decision on their hands. Most of the rumors right now circle around Mark Teixiera and the Braves would move him for another first baseman and some prospects; if they decide they are sellers in 2008. If they are buyers, you might see them try to add another quality pitcher to their team and there are a few out there. Most agree the wild card will come from the central division this year and that leaves only 1 team that will come out of the east this year. You have the New York Mets, Florida Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies that all have better records than the Atlanta Braves right now. So it would probably be smart just to trade away players and become sellers this year. Mark Teixiera only will be under contract for 2 more months, but many teams would like their chances of winning it all this year, with a big bat like Tex’s in the lineup every night. I think the Tampa Bay Devil Rays has a lot of good prospects and this is where the Braves should focus their attention. I believe the Angels could benefit the most getting Texiera and they should really try to pursue him hard in the next couple of days. The Braves are in the driver’s seat and they can sit back and wait for the offers to roll in. If they don’t get one they really like, they can just try to go out and make a big comeback for these last two months of the regular season. It should get very interesting as the Major League Baseball trade deadline approaches on Thursday.
Your New Home
by admin on Jul.28, 2008, under Home Finance
It’s not often in our lifetime that we get to move into a new home. I’m sure it’s exciting for those people that have just bought a new home and will be sleeping in it for the first night. All of the excitement that comes from your first meal that you have inside your new home or the new Delta faucets you turn on for the first time to wash your hands or to take a shower in your new home. I have lived in my current home for 30 years and I was too young to remember the excitement of moving into a new home. I enjoy where I live at now and have no immediate plans to move into a new home.
I know the housing market is down right now and new home sales are on the decline. I do think our economy will pick up in the near future and homes will start selling once again. We have a lot of people in this country and it continues to grow daily, so we as Americans will have to live some where. I’m sure there will be people in the near future that get a chance to experience all of the excitement and comforts that come from moving into a new home. Where you know everything is brand new and won’t need any repairs anytime soon!

Best Way to Eat Tacos
by admin on Jul.28, 2008, under Blogging
What is the best way to eat tacos? I personally like to have a few spices in my browned ground beef and then to add on top I like to have tomatoes, lettuce and grated cheese. I’m not picky on which type of cheese, but the mixed cheese that you can buy that is already grated is pretty good. It’s a blend of several different types of cheeses and I think a lot of cheese is what makes the tacos good. Fresh tomatoes are best to use too, but if you can’t find them, the store bought ones will do. Some people don’t even preheat their taco shells, but I think it’s a must to warm up the shells before you toss on the taco meat and other things you plan to top your taco with. That is the way I like to eat my tacos. If you have a great recipe or a way to prepare tacos, please let me know. I am always looking to try a new way to fix good homemade tacos! It is also a good idea to add a good hot sauce on your tacos and I would like to know of a good hot sauce to add to my tacos too. I usually just save the extra packs I get from the fast food restaurants that serve tacos and use them on my homemade tacos. I find they taste better than any of the store bought hot sauces I have tried to add to tacos.
Cell Phones Calling Internationally
by admin on Jul.28, 2008, under Finance
Well I finally broke down and got me a cell phone about 6 months ago. I really don’t do a lot of talking on the phone, but I thought it could come in handy for emergencies. It makes things so much easier when we break down on the side of the road and we have a cell phone we can use to call for help. You never know how far of a walk it might be to the nearest business, house or a place that has a phone.
Since I am new to the world of cell phones, can someone please let me know if I can make international phone calls? I buy prepaid minutes for my phone and will 1 minute that I use to call a friend in my city be the same rate if I make a call overseas? I wasn’t sure if I could just go pick up one of those international phone cards and make a call to another country or if I could do it through my regular prepaid minutes. Any advice or knowledge that you have on this would be greatly appreciated. Please just leave a reply if you know about using cell phones to call internationally or any good tips on phone cards too!
I do have a close online internet friend that lives in Bucharest, Romania and would like to be able to call her up sometime. I’m not sure what the cost would be from my home phone, so I would prefer to use a prepaid phone card to make a call to Europe with. I also have a few people and businesses I would like to contact in Mexico and I would be interested in acquiring Mexico calling cards. There is now a huge Spanish population in the United States and I know there has to be plenty of ways to make phone calls to Mexico. I know lots of Mexicans that still send money back home to Mexico and I’m sure they spend a lot of time calling from here to Mexico. So please just let me know of any tips that you have about calling internationally and be sure to let me know if I go to another country, will my cell phone still work?
The Movie: American Teen
by admin on Jul.28, 2008, under Favorite Movie
There is a new movie that has just come out and it looks pretty interesting. It is called American Teen and this movie is a documentary on the life of 4 teens in their senior year of high school in Indiana. I think this is a good opportunity to see where our teens are at today and what goes through their minds. This movie takes the popular girl, the geek, the jock and the artsy girl and shows us all of the adventures and things they deal with in today’s times. I think this movie will do well with other teenagers and I would hope the adults would take a look at it and see how this movie might can help them better understand their own teens.
American Teen
A very interesting trailer to say the least!
I think this is a movie worth watching and is a movie we should all see this summer. If you get tired of the same old Hollywood films that keep coming out that have pretty much the same story line and endings attached to them, I think American Teen will be a break from that. This is a different type of movie and I applaud the director of this movie that spent 10 long months capturing all the video and documenting the story lines that unfold with these 4 teenagers. I think Indiana is a great state to choose a high school in and should do a good job of representing most of the high schools in the United States. I also think there will be room for sequels to come from this movie and we can follow other teenagers at different high schools and see what the city life around these young folks has to do with their high school days. This is not a movie that you can relive your old high school days from. Times have changed a lot sense most of us were in high school and we may not understand a lot of things that teenagers are doing in high school now. I do believe we will recognize certain scenes that will remind us of the days gone by, but this movie will open a lot of new eyes to the things teens deal with in high school today. American Teen is a movie worth watching for the teenagers and adults this summer.
Failing to Prepare
by admin on Jul.25, 2008, under Blogging
They say that failing to prepare is preparing to fail and I really believe that. We do so many things in life that we don’t fully prepare our self for and when failure happens, we are left feeling blue. If you have had a string of bad luck and it seems like everything you do turns out bad, start trying to prepare for success. Don’t leave any stones unturned and if you still fail, you will know you did everything to the best of your ability and you will have no regrets.
Imagine bad weather storms that come along from time to time. We need to prepare for those storms on the sunny days, because once the rain starts to fall, it’s too late to prepare for the storm. So while the day is beautiful and the sun is out, prepare for the thunderstorms that will be in the near future. Be sure to have plenty of batteries for flashlights, lots of can food in the cupboard, emergency cash in the house and also have a bad weather plan with all of the members in your household. Try to think of all of the things you might need when the weather gets bad. You know that bad thunderstorms often leave us without power and having a back up source of power is a good idea. Most people count on generators to supply their power if bad weather leaves them powerless. If you can learn how to prepare for the bad storms that Mother Nature brings our way, then you will be better prepared for the storms we have to face in our daily lives.
Caribbean Golf Vacation
by admin on Jul.25, 2008, under Home Finance
I like to get out and play golf every now and then. Golf is a relaxing sport and a chance to work off any extra energy or stress you might be carrying around. I think all golf courses are nice and they just have a look of a place that you want to be at. I just wonder how nice it would be to play golf in the Carribbean. Those courses are very nice and with the Atlantic breezes coming in, I’m sure the feeling of playing golf down there is like no other place that I have ever played golf at before. It would be nice to load up the golf clubs and take them on a Caribbean golf vacation for about a week or two. I could make plans to stay in one of those Barbados villa rentals and when I wasn’t enjoying my time there, I would be hitting the golf balls on one of the courses near by. I don’t think I could come up with a better vacation plan than that and it truly would be luxury in paradise for me.
Mike Hampton Prepared to Start for Braves Saturday
by admin on Jul.25, 2008, under Blogging
It’s been 3 years since the southpaw has toed the rubber for the Atlanta Braves or any other baseball team in a regular season game. That is all about to change on Saturday when Mike Hampton will make his first start in 3 years when the Braves face the Philadelphia Phillies. The game will be a nationally televised game and it should be interesting to see what the Fox broadcasters have to say about Mike Hampton and the Atlanta Braves.
The game on Friday night was not even close if you go by the final score. The Braves held a 1 run lead over the Phillies going into the 9th inning. The Phillies brought out the top pitcher in their bullpen in Brad Lidge. Lidge never got comfortable and he would end up allowing a run to score on a Mark Texiera single to right; where the bases was then loaded. The Braves had got their 1 run from a Brian McCann homer earlier in the game. The hot hitting Braves catcher came to the plate in the 9th inning with the bags full of Braves and Brad Lidge still on the mound. One strong swing of the bat, McCann sent the ball out over the wall in deep right field and the grand slam would end Lidge’s night on the mound. Brad Lidge had only gave up 5 runs in his career in that ballpark in Philly, but the Atlanta Braves scored 5 runs in the 9th off of Lidge and he never recorded an out and he was removed from the game by Phillies Manage Charlie Manual. The runs turned out to be huge as Ryan Howard hit a homer in the bottom of the 9th inning that would have won the game for Phillies 2 to 1 over the Braves, if Lidge would have not collapsed in the 9th inning.
So now the Phillies are struggling to find their offense as they chase down the New York Mets in the East. The stage is all set up for a nice nationally televised game on Fox Sports Saturday and the return of Mike Hampton just adds fuel to the fire. This is going to be a great baseball game and this will be one game that both teams have a lot riding on. So expect this one to be played like a baseball game in October.

Goldfish Cheap?
by admin on Jul.23, 2008, under Blogging
Is goldfish really a cheap pet to buy for the little ones? I guess if you just go on the price of the goldfish their self, you will find most are like 50 cents to a couple of bucks. So the fish aren’t that expensive and if you can find something at home to put them in and some type of food to give them, you can come out of this smelling like a rose. Your fish might be dead in a couple of days, but you could cut a lot of corners to get the fish in front of the kids for a day or two.
Now if you did it right, you would need a nice tank, pump, rocks to go in the bottom, some type of water testers, a net and some fish food too. Now the cost goes up a little bit and you learn that the 79 cent goldfish is nothing compared to the goldfish supplies you will need. However, you can find used fish supplies at yard sales, flea markets and some of these goodwill stores. So if you took your time and started trying to piece things together one by one, you could have some fish for a good bargain. Goldfish is a good pet for the kids and they will love you for it. I just hope they aren’t like my twin 3 year old nephews, because they always want to “pet” the fish. Be sure to feed them very small amounts and keep the water clean and your goldfish should last a long time.

The Right Niche for Your Blog
by admin on Jul.22, 2008, under Favorite Blog
Every blog must have a direction or purpose to be successful online. You need to create a good niche for your blog if you haven’t done so already. Try to stay in that niche and add as much new content as possible each and every day. This will be what the search engines will like best and you can really get a good ranking blog, if you will find your niche and add fresh content daily that relates to it.
A good way to start finding a niche is by doing something you like. Just don’t create a niche trying to attract higher blog rankings. You want be able to post as much or just have any passion for a niche like that. Find something you are passionate about and it will make blogging each day much easier. You can blog about animals, your work, goals, money, travel destinations or anything else that you might have a strong passion for. I like sports so a lot of my blog posts will be directed toward sports. I also like movies, music and just the whole entertainment sector. So anything to do with media or television and I have something good to blog about. See if you can find a good niche for your blog and start focusing more on one topic and see if that helps you achieve better numbers in the search engine rankings.
