My Favorite Blank

I hope everyone has a great Halloween day, night, and weekend! I use to love Halloween as a kid and getting all of that candy. It was fun dressing up in the different costumes too. Now as a adult I like it too, because of all the scary movies that come on television. I love the horror movies and all of the Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street and Halloween movies are great. I think Jason and Michael Myers are best killers on the big screen. The Halloween music is awesome and the little nursery rhyme that Freddy Krueger movies has isn’t bad either.

What is your favorite Halloween candy? I think the tootsie rolls are pretty good and I always liked getting them and bubble gum in my trick or treat bags. It’s hard to go wrong with anything chocolate and the little candy bars are a nice treat to give out to the kids. Just don’t be the person that gives out apples on Halloween night. No kids like getting apples, granola bars or anything that is healthy like that. Halloween is a day meant to eat junk food, so let’s keep it junky and the more junk the better! Have a great Halloween everyone and I hope you make it home safely and find a nice Halloween movie on television to watch; while falling asleep tonight.

The Gallery Collection made a very nice gesture and donated 800 Christmas Cards to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. It’s great to see people and businesses donating their time, money, or products to a great cause. I think a children’s hospital is a great cause and the one in Cincinnati, Ohio got a nice gift from GalleryCollection.com. Please be sure to help the people out that are less fortunate than us and there is no better time to donate than the holiday season. I’m sure those kids in Cincinnati got a big boost from seeing those cards and I wished I had been there to see the smile on their little faces. I also think the people working with these kids everyday like to see donations come in like this too.

Stocks got a boost from the government today as the Feds cut interest rates sending the markets higher. They are so many cheap stocks to find right now on Wall Street and it’s a great buying opportunity for investors. If you haven’t got any of these bargains yet, there is still plenty of time and things should stay cheap until the election on November 4th.  I think we will see a surge in the Market after McCain or Obama is elected president next Tuesday. I think we will have to stay up late on Tuesday to find out who wins and this presidential election is shaping up to be a very close one. I would assume we will know who wins in the wee hours of the morning on Wednesday November 5th.

If you do buy the cheap shares of companies right now, please remember it will take a little time until you see a big turn around. June 30th of 2009 is when the housing market will correct itself and everything should be smooth sailing from there. Investors need to be investing for the long term right now and this is not the time to buy and sell. The holidays will factor in a postive market soon and this coupled with the Presidential Election should bring a nice gain as the last days of 2008 slip away. You don’t have to look hard to find stock bargains, but I don’t see how you could go wrong with Google and any share price under 472 dollars from Google should be snatched up. That 472 dollar level is where I’m drawing the line on Google and this is a 28 dollar drop from my 500 dollar or less buying target. So grab a little Google while your buying the discounts on Wall Street right now and be sure you’re buying for the long term.

Some people make a nice little income on the side when they sell things on the weekends at yard sales and flea markets. I think the auctions are a good place to go for sellers to stock up on their merchandise. I’m surprised more sellers don’t focus on electronics and they seem to be very popular these days. If you had somewhere you could go and get wholesale electronics, I think you could turn a nice little profit. All those things with lights and gadgets in the technology world would do well at the places you find people selling on the weekends.

I use to sell baseball cards at flea markets and I had a good time. I didn’t really profit much, but I could usually make enough to pay my table and would usually make a few trades I was happy with making. Baseball cards are different from other merchandise and not a lot of trading goes on. The key to making money from these yard sales, auctions, and flea markets is to find items that you can get for dirt cheap. Buying in large volumes usually helps you to get discounts too and this gives you a greater chance of turning a profit. I’m looking to find some wholesale merchandise to sell on the weekends, but I haven’t determined what type of items I want to sell yet. It is a lot of fun to be the shoppers too and going out finding some bargains.

A website’s ranking is important and the better your numbers are the better it will do attracting new visitors. One good way to help your numbers and stats is to get links coming in to your site. If you think of your website like a lake, you will know its important to have more rivers and streams flowing in than out. If too much water is flowing out; then your lake will soon dry up and this holds true for your website too. So try to find ways and places on the internet you can get more links coming in to your site. If you exchange links with other webmasters your not really gaining much. You need to find ways to get links coming your way without giving up any out-going links. Work on driving more links to your website and you will soon learn that it will attract more traffic too.

The economy is struggling and people all over the country don’t have the extra money like they once did. People that own businesses that sell us products or provide us services are seeing this and many of the things they offer are getting cheaper. You might not find this everywhere right now, but if they want to stay in business you will see prices dropping across the board.

I know car insurance, home insurance, life insurance and other insurances are starting to drop just a bit. I have seen a decrease on my life insurance rates and I’m glad I did, because I was thinking about dropping it. I think our car and home insurance will follow this pattern and we shouldn’t have to pay as much as we once did on any type of insurance. The insurance companies want to keep your business and if your rates haven’t dropped yet; now is a good time to call them up and see if you can have them adjusted.

Gas is really cheap now too and you wouldn’t think it would be dropping. People can’t drive as much now, because they don’t have the money they once did. So filling up at the pump should be costing us less over the next several months. Rising fuel costs was causing the supermarkets and restaurants to increase their prices, but food should be going back down in the near future. I think the two things that will be linked together most over these troubling times right now will be oil and food prices. If the economy hasn’t affected you too much right now; then you will be one of the lucky ones that get to take advantage of the prices going down over the next several months. Hang in there for now, better times are coming, they just aren’t here yet!

I use to love watching Married with Chrildren. Al Bundy is the man and I use to watch him all the time when they were on tv. I haven’t seen the show recently and was wondering why it wasn’t on television anymore. I now see that a few stations have started to show Married with Children again and it’s just as funny now as it was back then. I just watched the episode where Peg borrows money from Al and promises him a steak dinner. She insteads go shopping with neighbor Marcy and buys a night gown that she hopes will attract Al. It doesn’t go as planned and Al only wants his steak dinner. He doesn’t even notice the night gown and the man only wants his food. Peg doesn’t give up that easily and starts buying a different outfit each day, but all Al can think about is that steak dinner. So Peg finally realizes she needs to get the man a steak. She doesn’t let him have it so easy though and Al must “perform” before he can have his nice steak and soon a pattern begins where Peg gives Al food and Al returns the favor with affection. It’s a pretty good episode and now that they are on again, I will be tuning in to more of the shows. I think Kelly Bundy has a lot to do with why I was a fan to begin with but the overall show is really funny. I think Married with Children was one of the best sitcoms of the 1990’s and glad to see a couple of networks introuducing us to the Bundy Family again.

The Atlanta Hawks are close to the tip-off of the new NBA season. They made the playoffs last year and are looking to build on that success this year. They have all the key players returning with the exception of Josh Childress who went to play ball in Europe. The Atlanta Hawks are led by Josh Smith and he is the work horse that has got this team to where they are at now. Mike Bibby and Joe Johnson make up a solid backcourt for the Hawks, but the young guys like Al Horford and Marvin Williams will need to step it up a notch for the team to win a lot of games this year.

The additions of Maurice Evans and Flip Murray are going to bring instant help for this young team and they are going to give the Hawks more firepower this year. The team needed more 3 point shooters and players that can create their own shot and both of these players offer this. Also look for Acie Law and ZaZa Pachulia to help give this team solid minutes on a nightly basis. The Hawks have all the pieces in place to make a serious run in the playoffs this year. I see this team winning 53 games this year and making the playoffs. The Hawks are a much better team that their 37 wins last year would suggest. They must keep people healthy and if Josh Smith goes down for any length of time, this team from the South might be in jeopardy. I’m not sure why Mike Woodson was left on to ride the ship, but he needs to learn the team has to run for them to win. They can run any team off the court this year, if Coach Woodson will just allow them to. You don’t have to stop baskets from being scored and it’s just as easy to take the ball out of the net and run down the floor that way too. Most teams will have trouble matching up with the Hawks on a nightly basis and their depth needs to be shown and it can by having a up tempo style of game.

The Atlanta Hawks will win 53 games this year and fans in Atlanta do have 1 sports team this year in the professional ranks they can get excited about. Look out Atlanta and a new day is dawning in the state of Georgia.

George Bush might not be popular as president right now, but his movie W. is doing real well at the theaters. It currently has the 7th spot at the box office and they are some really good movies above it. The little dog finally fell off the top spot, but landed at number this week. Beverly Hills Chihuahua is still luring people in and this movie has received a lot of attention over the last few weeks. High School Musical movies continue to roll and their popularity increases with each new movie. I know it’s senior year, but I don’t think we have seen the last movie from Disney on this one. I think Body of Lies looks like the most attractive movie on the list and it’s barely staying in the top 10. Just like High School Musical 3, the Saw movies get bigger each time and Saw 5 is doing very well. I don’t think it would shock too many people if Saw stops making movies at number 5, but it’s just as likely Saw 6 finds it’s way to theaters in the coming years.

We may see a sharp decline on Friday due to the Halloween celebration and most people may be hitting the streets trick or treating or just staying at home to avoid the traffic from trick or treaters; while handing out candy to the kids. They are some new movies that open up on Halloween Night and not sure why these folks would want to open up on a holiday like Halloween. I think the movie The First Basket will be a good one to go and see and it starts on Halloween Night. Sales might be off this weekend, but people are still finding a way to scrape up the money to go watch these Hollywood Blockbusters.

The World Series got postponed and the next pitch is scheduled for Wednesday evening. They have 3 1/2 innings to play in game 5 and the score is tied 2 to 2. The Philadelphia Phillies have the advantage and lead the series 3 to 1. So if they can manage to plate another run and hold the Tampa Bay Devil Rays scoreless over those 3 innings; will win their 2nd World Series in team history. The D-Rays wasn’t even supposed to be there and I’m sure they are happy just being in the World Series. Tampa has beaten the odds all year long and I wouldn’t count them out now. I think Tampa is still in control of things and they have the talent to overcome the deficit they find their self in now.

This postponed World Series game reminds us too much of the All Star Game that got called after they ran out of pitchers to use in the mid-season classic and the score was still tied. I think Bud Selig and baseball has a lot of things to work out and we almost saw a repeat in this year’s All Star Game. Baseball needs to take measures now to correct these things and they are going to have a hard time attracting fans to the games next year from this World Series decision and the struggling economy we find ourselves in now.

The main room in our house is the den that has the big television and all of the comfy furniture to sit or lay on. We have two big windows that give us a nice view of the backyard and one of the things we like to do is watch the birds feed from the birdfeeder. We have a standard birdfeeder that we put seeds in and often we see the squirrels enjoying it as much as the birds do. Our birdfeeder is located right between two tarby worm trees, so the birds have plenty of places to come in for a landing or sit near by while another bird is feeding. It’s really a great way to watch nature and you will get your money’s worth out of a birdfeeder.

I would also like to add some other birdfeeders to the backyard to create more activity to watch. The hummingbird feeders would be my first choice and we don’t see many hummingbirds with the feeders we have now. We could just hang these from the house and close to the windows, so we could see these amazing creatures come in for a bite to eat. They don’t land like most birds do and you often see hummingbirds just hovering in the air as they sip from a birdfeeder or from a flower that has just bloomed. The DOW is getting a nice little push right now and the energy sector seems to be driving it. Energy and metals are contributing to the gains being found right now and I’m sure investors are happy with the DOW going higher at the moment. It’s not the time to get too happy and this isn’t the sign we are all waiting for yet. Everything still centers on the housing sector and it’s not going to be fixed until June 30th of 2009. So the markets aren’t going anywhere in the near future. This is a good time to find bargains and take advantage of the low stock pricing that is across the board right now.

Congress really needs to pass that 2nd stimulus package check this year to make any long term effects on the dropping markets. We have already been teased with a 2nd paycheck from the government this year and if it doesn’t get approved soon, this will only delay the markets moving forward again. A stimulus package should have been the first step in correcting the current crisis. All of the bailouts and the 700 billion dollar bailout plan wasn’t needed and the money needs to be going to the households of America. Let’s not tax the people more for the mistakes made in the credit lending industry and focus on putting money into the households of Americans. Taxpayers will be taxed approximately 10,000 dollars just for the 700 billion dollar bailout plan that has already been approved. Instead of taking that much out of each American Household, the government should be pumping the 10,000 dollars into the hands of taxpayers. The markets react well to any scent of a 2nd stimulus check and this needs to be done soon before it is too later. I’m not sure why anyone would think this is a bad idea and if you want to get the economy moving forward again, you have to give people money to do it with. Creating new jobs overseas for products to be sold in this country doesn’t make much sense, when we don’t have the money to buy it with. More jobs must stay at home and this is the 2nd step to recovery, but the checks need to be in the mail for a 2nd stimulus package in 2008. Too much talk has already been made in the media not to have a 2nd check sent out this year to American Taxpayers.

This is one of my favorite songs by Tim McGraw. He hit a homerun with the song Everywhere and others thought so too, because it was number 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. I love songs that talk about American cities or states and obviously like the fact he used Georgia in this song (Down in Georgia picking them peaches). Everywhere by Tim McGraw is a song about love and how we see so many things in our everyday life that reminds us of a loved-one. This song was being played on all the country radio stations when it came out and it’s off the album that shares the same name of the song (Everywhere).

Drugs and alcohol have put a lot of strains on families over the years.  It’s a never-ending process that continues to spiral down if not treated.
