All the wild weather lately is causing a lot of flooding to certain parts of the country. I know Hurricane Gustav has left people without power for more than 3 days now and the flooding and wind damage probably goes a lot further than that. You will want to take the time now and secure things outdoor so they don’t get blown away with the high winds from these hurricanes. If it’s just rain in your area you can use outdoor furniture covers to help protect things. If you have to worry about high winds in your area, you will want to try and find a way to bring these things inside or tie them down, so they don’t get blown away. Who knows what the weather might do next, but chances are that you will be getting rain in the near future.

A lot of us could cut our energy cost at home by just unplugging a few things or using better light bulbs in our lighting fixtures. The things that seem small now do add up over time and you could be looking at a lot of extra money in your pocket over the coarse of a year. All the video equipment and clocks we have plugged up that rarely get used should be unplugged first. Just making a few trips around the house unplugging things will help out a lot. You can also use energy efficient light bulbs in your rooms or at least the rooms that don’t need all the extra illumination. The bathroom lighting and lights we have in the closets is a great place to start installing the new bulbs that use less energy. I know there are a lot of other things we could do to make a more dramatic impact on our energy cost and insulating the home properly is what most will suggest. This saves you money on cooling and heating the home, but if buy a couple of energy efficient light bulbs and unplug a couple of things, you can start making a difference right now!

When was the last time you had your sewer cleaned or had the waste removed? It’s not a job we like to think about too much, but if this has gone unattended for years and years, it might be time to have a check up on your sewer system. You could just need a pumping that would help or you might need to put in a new septic tank. If you did have the time and money right now, it would be a smart move to go ahead and get one of the Precast Concrete Septic Tanks installed at your home. These will be septic tanks that will last a lifetime and prevent a problem from sewage finding it’s way in the yard. Taking care of these types of things is a young man’s thing and we don’t want to be in our golden years worrying about these types of problems.
If you do go with a new septic system, look at one that is made with Precast Concrete and this will be one that will last for a long time. This is the same type of concrete you might see driving down the highways and where they have the concrete barriers in place. Now is a good time to start thinking about your sewer situation, before a real problem occurs and then it becomes much tougher to deal with. So try to prevent what could happen to you and take care of the septic tank one weekend or plan to take care of it on your next vacation you have at work.

A lot of webmasters these days are putting some forms of advertisements on their websites, hoping that their website traffic will click on some of these ads. Each time a click thru is recorded; it equals cash into the webmaster’s pocket. This can be a great way to generate a little extra income, just make sure that you do follow the rules of these different paid to click companies. They don’t like bad traffic or false clicks and often webmasters get their accounts canceled before they receive the first penny from these ads. I know words like attorney, real estate or mesothelioma on a website will help generate these types of ads on a website and these are some of the ones that pay the higher bucks per click thru. Instead of focusing on some these higher paying ads, your better off making up a website with things you know or have a love to update regularly. The search engines prefer these websites more and this will lead to more traffic and keeping fresh content on any website is important if you want to rank high on the major search engines. Try to add the keywords that are relevant, but at the same time keeping a focus on the niche or theme of your website.

Wow! Where are all of these hurricanes coming from? Who would have thought New Orleans would have been hit so soon after Hurricane Katrina caused so much damage just a few years ago. The 2008 Hurricane that clipped the New Orleans area was nothing like Katrina, but did cause a lot of flooding problems in the nearby and surrounding areas of Louisiana. You don’t have to go far New Orleans residents to find sympathy, because Hurricane Fay just wouldn’t leave the state of Florida alone! Fay struck Florida over and over and just wouldn’t leave the Sunshine State and lots of Florida soil is still under water from all the flooding caused by Fay.
Now let’s look to the next one on the horizon and her name is Hanna. Predictions right now would suggest a South Carolina to North Carolina landing, but it’s still a few days away. This hurricane will gain speed and drive into the coast very fast and there is already rip currents being reported all along the Eastern Seaboard of the United States. Hurricane Hanna will cause evacuations and the wind and flood damage associated with hurricanes. When Hanna has made her landing on the Atlantic Coast of the U.S., we will still be looking at two more potential hurricanes making U.S. landfalls. Hurricane Ike is a category 4 hurricane right now and this could be the worse one of the bunch. Ike is going to be a problem for somebody in the near future and is already causing problems to the countries that exist in the Caribbean area. Hurricanes Hanna and Ike are coming to a town near you and if you live in the hurricane regions of the southeastern part of America, you will want to keep an eye on the weather for at least the next 2 weeks. These hurricanes are always changing and can easily stray off their course and head straight for your town, city, home or state. I believe Ike is going to be a non stop coverage type of event if this big boy gets anywhere near the U.S. coastlines of that Atlantic Coast or finds a way to make it into the Gulf of Mexico. Ike making a Florida land fall would be about the worse possible scenario and I’m not sure if the state of Florida could deal with a category 4 hurricane right now, after the damage done by hurricane Fay.
Some of these hurricanes could actually help out the drought stricken regions of the U.S. and I know North Georgia would welcome any of the wet stuff from these hurricanes. I don’t think no state wants to deal with the wind damage that comes from hurricanes and maybe when they do reach the shores of the USA, that they will find unpopulated areas of the coast to make their landfall. Also keep in mind that the atmosphere is creating a lot of these hurricanes right now and Ike is not the last one on the radar right now and the whole month of September could be filled with hurricane news. Things are already on pace to make the September of 2008 the worse hurricane month on record for U.S. hurricanes and this is factoring in all the destruction caused by Hurricanes Hugo, Andrew and Katrina! We all know that a hurricane landing like Andrew or Katrina was due to happen and the only question now is which major area will be hit next? Miami is not hurricane proof in South Florida and if a hurricane like Ike would ever find it’s way to Miami, we would be looking at destruction beyond belief!
