As the weather warms up and people head out to the lakes to go fishing, camping, boating or just to have picnics, the accident rates go up as well. A lot of these accidents could be avoided if one simple ingredient was left off the boat. That one ingredient is alcohol! It is just as dangerous to be impaired driving a boat, as it is to be driving a motor vehicle impaired. Arizona State Laws does have an alcohol limit of .08 in the blood stream, so if your blood alcohol count is .08 or higher, you will be arrested! The term that boaters need to be aware of is OUI and this is Operating Under the Influence. Let’s keep things simple and safe on the water this year and leave alcohol off the boats.
Sleeping with the Fish
It’s no big surprise what dangers can happen on the water if laws are not in place to protect people swimming and other boaters. Boating Education Online is a great place to get started before you head out to the area lakes and rivers this summer. Safety should be the top concern for anyone that plans to drive or ride on a boat in Arizona this summer. Arizona Boating was intended to be fun and a activity that family and friends could enjoy on the weekends or anytime during the summer. It isn’t like that when a few careless individuals get out in the water and they have been consuming alcoholic beverages. They just don’t liter the clean waters of our lakes, rivers and streams, but they also cause bodily harm to their selves and other innocent boaters just trying to enjoy the water. We can all enjoy the fun in the sun this year on the lakes, but please keep the alcohol off the boats!
Arizona Game and Fish Department
No one should have to worry about making a trip to the lake this year. There is more watercrafts out there and more dangers creep into place when this number goes up. Just watch out for your fellow boaters, swimmers and always keeping your eyes on the water ahead as you travel across the water. Safety must be in place at all times and if everyone does their part, we can limit the number of accidents this year. So to all the Arizona residents out there, go have fun and enjoy your time on the water. If you’re a visitor that is planning a trip to Arizona and you want to go boating, please make sure you’re aware of the state laws and regulations and we hope you have a great time during your stay in Arizona. One last time, please, please, just don’t even bring the alcohol out to the lake! Boating Operating Under the Influence is a serious crime and those violators will be caught and punished!

All of the television stations will be changing over to a digital broadcast in 2009 and will no longer work with an analog reception. So what does this mean for you? Well maybe nothing and you might not notice it if you currently use a satellite provider like Dish Network or Direct TV or if you’re currently a cable subscriber. Those companies are ahead of the curve and they will have everything in place and ready to go for their customers. The people that will have to change the tv viewing habits, will be the ones that currently use an antenna to get local programming in the area. So if you are watching television via antenna, please be aware of the upcoming changes in February 2009. No television sets will be getting a signal then, so this mean no pictures will be shown on your tv.
This is a move to help everyone get a better television reception and is being led by the government. I currently use satellite television and I will be fine when these new changes take place next year. I do feel bad for the people that live outside of the cities and don’t have a cable service that runs in their area. These folks can still get a satellite dish and they are 2 major companies to choose from, but it doesn’t mean an extra bill coming into the household. In many cases, people that live in these areas and don’t already have a satellite dish, is because they can’t afford it. If you live far away from a big city, I’m sure jobs are scarce and money is probably tight in a lot of these households. So these folks will have 1 of two choices to make; they can get the dish which won’t be easy to afford or they can go without watching television. Television and radio has always been a great value in our country and use to, if you just owned a tv or radio, you could see or listen to what you needed. Now that is no longer the case and television won’t be watched by as many Americans starting next year. Radio will still be free for us to listen to all our favorite tunes, but how long will the music continue to come in for free? Hopefully these changes don’t continue like they appear to be and who would have ever thought that air at a gas station would cost us 75 cents? If they can charge us for air at those prices, take away our television programs; then I’m sure the music coming from our radios is just a little time away.

Dieting is one of the most common things people do these days. There are some that go on a diet for health related reasons and some just want to go on a diet to lose a few pounds. In most cases going on a diet and taking off a few pounds is a good thing. Some people look fine and really don’t need to go on a diet to help them shed off any pounds. Most people would say that the hard part isn’t losing weight, but it’s keeping the weight off. The reason a lof of us got those extra pounds, is because of our daily routines and habits. So we have to change those things in our lifestyles, if we want to keep the weight off for good.
I would consider my self about 10 to 15 pounds over weight. I think my body could function a little better if I could lose some weight. I don’t feel like the extra pounds I am carrying with me now, is that big of a problem but I know as I get older, those few extra pounds could create more problems for me. Anyone that does choose to go on a diet these days, will not find a shortage of products out there claiming to help them. The Weight Loss industry is a huge market and as long as people feel the need to slim down, I am sure it will just continue to grow. Most of the products out there are FDA Approved and as long as people follow the directions, it can be a safe way to diet. Some might try over-dosing on diet pills and losing weight as fast as they can. I don’t think most doctors would agree with that approach and weight loss should be done at a slow rate, so the body can make adjustments gradually as you begin to lose weight. It is a good idea to always check with your doctor before you start any diet or exercise programs.
I think for most of us, it still goes back to two simple steps. If we will get more active in our daily lives and burn off extra calories that way, we will slowly start to lose weight. The other simple step is just to eat less. This doesn’t mean to stop eating, but just eating a little less each day and doing a little more exercise each day and your body over an extended period of time will lose weight. No one should be trying weight loss on the fast approach and the slow and steady approach is the best way to go for anyone that wants to lose more weight. Be sure to check out a lot of the cookbooks out there that shows people how to eat smarter these days and you will learn how to stay away from certain foods that can cause us to gain weight. Good luck to everyone this planning to start a diet or might already be on one. Just remember to take things slow and you will feel much better overall if you don’t put too much stress on the body with the fast weight loss approach.
