Which way do you prefer to mow the lawns? It does seem easier to use the riding lawn mowers, but a lot of times you will find your self getting off to move things out of your way and the riding lawn mowers don’t cut close to things like a wall or the side of your house. The lawn mowers that you walk behind can get into those hard to reach places, but you have to stand up to cut the grass with them. If you had to choose only 1 lawn mower that you could get to cut your grass this summer, would you choose a walking lawn mower or one of the lawn mowers you can sit on?

I am use to the walking lawn mowers and I need all the exercise I can get, so I prefer a walking lawn mower. Today’s walking lawn mowers do offer a little help and you don’t have to use all your energy to push them. They work like a motorcycle would and when you need a little extra pull, you just give it some juice and these lawn mowers will help you go up a hill or a steep area in the yard. So that would be the perfect lawn mower for me, please be sure to let me know which one you prefer and why.

The thermometer is getting redder by the day and the dog days of summer are coming. Now is the time to clean out the cob webs in the air conditioner, clean your filters and make sure the air conditioning compressor is in tip top shape too! You don’t want to wait until those hot days in July strike and then discover you have a problem. Be sure to run your tests and get your air conditioner matienance in now, so if something is wrong, you can get it fixed now. Those government rebate checks that a lot of people are starting to get back right now, would be money you could use to fix your a/c or to buy a new air conditioner with. Some families will be getting back $600 or $1200 from their tax checks this year and if they have kids, they could see even more than that. I think using their tax rebate money to get the cooling system in the home correct, would be a good way to spend the money. You might not be too happy right now to spend that money on fixing or getting a new A/C, but I’m sure in July and August, you would be glad that you got the problem taken care of. Maybe you don’t have a problem and you can use those tax checks on other things and your air conditioner might just need to have the filter cleaned, to put out that really cold air. So take a little time now and check on those air conditioners you have sitting in the window and see if they are ready to keep you cool this summer.

I love to fish anytime, but there is something special about fishing during the dark. Getting some chicken livers or worms and baiting up the hooks and just throwing it out, until a catfish hooks it self on the bait and hook you have carefully prepared is fun. We usually take a flashlight light or two, maybe a lantern and each person will usually bring more than 1 rod. So we just bait them up and throw them out and talk about the old times. It’s a great way to kill time and all you need is your fishing gear, throw on some jeans and t-shirts (depending on how cool it might get in the overnight hours) and just sit back and shoot the bull. My friends and I just look at it as a way to talk to each other and we might catch a fish while were doing it. When you first get there, you’re looking at every line and noticing the slightest of movements in your fishing line. After an hour or two passes, you get to talking more and forget about the rods and that you’re actually fishing. When you least expect it, you will see one of the rods bow over or fall down to the ground where a catfish has hooked their self and now realize they have a hook in their mouth and they are trying to swim away. Sometimes we have had our poles too close together and one fish would manage to tangle up all the rods and cause a big mess. It’s not too fun trying to add sinkers and a hook on your fishing line at night, so try to space your fishing poles out, so they are not that close together. You might also know of some places to catfish that are better than the places I go, but if somebody in our group can catch a fish every 30 minutes to an hour, I am happy at that rate. If you haven’t tried to catfish at night and plan to try it for the first time this summer, be sure you get to your fishing place at least 1 hour before dark. So then you can get use to your surroundings and maybe gather up some firewood before it gets dark. So when the sun does go down, you will be all set to land the big one! Catfish and carp will bite in the evening before dark too, so be sure to watch the rods while your getting firewood together or setting up your things. Just remember you can’t catch a fish, unless your hook is out in the water.

The world never stops turning and neither does the people that upload their videos online each day to share with the whole world. User generated content has become a big thing and even advertisers are trying to get amateurs to promote their products or services these days. A couple of video cables or some HDMI cables and internet users can upload videos of their self, family members or anything else they choose to share with the world. I must admit watching home videos of ordinary people is addicting and I have sat for hours looking at videos at some of the more popular places online to view user generated videos. I’m not sure where this is all heading, but most can see the ideas for this is limitless. I really think advertisers can lock in to this particular area of online promotions and could greatly benefit by having everyday people talking up their products. I believe I will try to lock up my own video personality and see if I can increase my online exposure and rate of success with various programs. As long as there is young people and teens in high school that keep the videos uploading, I think the adults will catch up soon and see ways to maximize their goals with user generated content online.

Charles Barkley had a little time to gamble in the fall of 2007, but during that good time he ran up a bill of $400,000 at an adult club in Las Vegas. The ex-NBA star has yet to pay that money back and Vegas officials from the Clark Superior Court in Nevada said they have made several attempts to get this money back and they will pursue legal action if the money is not paid back soon. Charles Barkley has said that he would pay the money back and insists that he is not broke.

I am a fan of Charles Barkley and love watching him on TNT after the basketball games they cover. However, the first game match up with the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Hornets, a halftime display went wrong and to put out the fire, crews had to bring in fire extinguishers to put out the flames. This playoff game was delayed due to the mascot for the Hornets having to jump through a ring of fire while dunking a basketball. Since the fire extinguishers had to be brought in to contain the situation, this caused a delay in the game and the show after the game from TNT was delayed. Obviously Charles Barkley had plans that night and did not stick around for the show after that game. I only watched the end of the Spurs and Hornets game, just so I could see what Chuck had to say. He’s funny and well worth watching his commentary after the games on TNT. When Charles faked a sickness (at least Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson was saying this), it made me feel like I had been stood up. If Charles wants to go out and do his own thing and hearing these latest charges from Vegas he has refuse to pay, I would hope TNT makes the necessary changes and removes Charles Barkley from all their NBA coverage. We do not need to support people like this in our society and Charles obviously has a lot more going on for him than most of the people in this country. If he doesn’t choose to use his fame and fortune for something good, like entertaining NBA fans on the games on TNT; then I would hope TNT steps up to the plate and makes an example here. No more Charles Barkley on TNT and I don’t plan to watch any games on TNT that Charles Barkley is still apart of. So let’s rid our television with the people like Charles Barkley and we don’t need high class trash like his self that only cares for him self and has no regards to his fans in the NBA community.

We are fast approaching that time of the year when many families will be taking off for their favorite vacation destinations. It can be a little stressful to leave your home unattended during the days or weeks your family is gone on vacation. People will be moving to a new city or state and it might not be convenient to travel by car to an area to look for a new home. I guess most have done got their spring cleaning taken care of. I am not one of those people and if I keep putting it off, it will be summer cleaning for me. I have so much cleaning I need to do, but just haven’t found the time yet. I need to get in the mood soon and start throwing away stuff and moving furniture around and cleaning all the dirt, dust and spider webs that have collected behind them. I just hope when I start I can finish. I sometimes have a bad habit of just half cleaning a room and then will put it off for tomorrow. The problem is tomorrow never comes and I will just wait months longer before I clean again. So when I do decide to start my spring cleaning, I need to roll up my sleeves and do it until the job gets done. I hope I can make some money when I start cleaning up. It would be nice to find some money that is hidden in my house somewhere that I might of forgot about. So I don’t know when I will start cleaning, but I know one thing, it won’t be today!

The countdown is in full swing and it keeps getting better as I get to reveal the top 4th rock ballad that exists out there now. So many great rock ballads exist out there, so picking only 10 is a hard job to do. I do think I am listing the 10 best in terms of popularity today, personal taste and just how popular they were when they first came out. So I won’t keep you in suspense any longer and let you know what the 4th best rock ballad is.

I got to hear these guys in concert back in the early 1990’s and they put on a good show in concert. Yes, Tesla’s Love Song is the 4th top rock ballad out there. This is a great song and even today it’s consider a good song by most. Tesla has a lot of good songs, but there is no doubts that Love Song is the one that put them on the map and will make newer generations continue to know the name Tesla. I don’t think anyone could complain that this song is not worthy of a top 10 choice when deciding on the top 10 rock ballads of all time.

This song was released in 1989 and MTV didn’t waste any time getting this one on the air. It was in heavy roatation and the song rose to number 10 in the U.S. charts and was one of the biggest hits by the group Tesla. Tesla is from Sacramento, California and the video was shot in their hometown of Sacramento. If you look in the background you can see banners hanging from a local radio station there called 93 Rock. The band called their self “City Kidd”, but would later change their name before they released their first album Mechanical Resonance. The original members that made up Tesla are Jeff Keith, Frank Hannon, Tommy Skeoch, Brian Wheat and Troy Luccketta. Tesla’s music is considered heavy metal, but most will describe their songs as hard rock with a bluesy feel.

The band really put their self on the map of rockers all around when they released the album The Great Radio Controversy and it was on this album that Love Song was born and sometimes that is all it takes to put a band on the map. Just get that one hit that will be huge and the fame and fortunes that come from being in a rock band will follow. Another great album that was produced by the band was Five Man Acoustical Jam and Love Song was also on this album too. This album had several good songs, but perhaps one of the best songs on this album was Signs.

So Tesla swoops in and grabs the 4th spot on my countdown of the top 10 rock ballads of all time. I still have 3 more awesome rock ballads to put up, so don’t worry if you haven’t seen your favorite rock ballad yet, it’s possible it might just be my favorite rock ballad of all time too!

A big earthquake struck the heart of China and the numbers are still coming in. It looks like thousands have been killed and many are still trapped in the earthquake that registered 7.8 on the Richter scale. The worse part about the earthquake in China is that it happened during the middle of the school day for most students and its left a lot of kids and teachers trapped in all the rubble from the huge earthquake. The earthquake was centered in an area of China that has many fault lines and back in 1933 a similar earthquake left more than 9,000 citizens dead. The earthquake that occurred on Monday May 12, 2008 is already reporting the death toll in the thousands. It’s really sad news to hear about so many young people in China that is trapped right now and the ones that have barely escaped this horrible earthquake in China on Monday. This devastation comes on top of the cyclone that is still reporting higher death tolls each day in Myanmar. Normally either one of these events would be a once in a lifetime event, but perhaps with global warming to blame on so many things these days, we will experience more of these tragedies on a global front.

I guess with the housing market in an up roar right now, that foreclosures on homes are at a all time high. This may continue to increase and I’m sure a lot of home owners will be needing foreclosure help now or in the near future. I do think things will settle down later in the year and things should improve in 2009. The remainder of this year is going to be tough on home owners, the builders and even the home supply stores. I believe a lot of investors are scared of this on Wall Street, but I think there is a good buying opportunity right now. The stock market is going to need time to rebound, but a lot of the housing factors in the market currently, have already been factored in. It seems computers change by the minute and if you get one today, it will be out-of-date by tomorrow. The technology continues to boom in the computer world and those towers hold so much information today, that sit on our computer desks. Today’s computers have more memory, more speed and something like the video card holds so much information compared to the ones of yesterday. I think all the cables and places to plug in cables has increased dramatically too. Everyone needs some place to plug in their IPod and all of the other things that computers make better. Music is really simple to download from your computer to your IPod and this is just one of the things that make today’s computers so great. I just wonder what tomorrow does hold for the computers and just how much faster can they make them. Recently on the Lifetime Network they showed the true story of The Capture of the Green River Killer. It portrays one of the most famous serial killers in American History. The man that police would spend 20 years looking for turned out to be Gary Ridgway. According to the movie on Lifetime, police had questioned him many years earlier, but didn’t find sufficient evidence to charge him with anything. As the years passed by and no suspects emerged as a good lead, the police would go back through their list of suspects. It seemed one dedicated detective Dave Reichert had his eye on Gary Ridgway, but could never come up with enough evidence to prosecute him of any crimes.

Gary Ridgway was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He had been married 2 times, but still craved prostitutes while still being married. He would go find these women on the streets and in most cases would choke them to death. He left a long trail of bodies and even today it’s not clear on just how many young women might have had their life cut short by the hands of Gary Ridgway. Since most of the women were prostitutes, the families were not aware of their daughters being gone and this probably help Ridgway through the years, since a lot of families weren’t demanding justices. The biggest pressure back in those days for the King County Sheriff’s Department in Washington was from the media. They were the ones that held the police accountable for no arrests in all the bodies that were being found in the early to mid 1980’s.

Ted Bundy was a very famous serial killer from the Northwestern part of the Untied States and his reign of terror had apparently ended by the time Gary Ridgway started leaving his trail of destruction. Two detectives working on the Green River Killer case even flew down to Florida, where Ted Bundy was waiting for the electric chair and some credit has been given to Bundy for advice and tips he left with detectives that day. In the movie The Capture of the Green River Killer, they have a great scene that leads up to to where Ted Bundy enters the case. One detective is talking to another one and lets him know that someone might have some good tips on this case and the other detective questions him and asks why this might just be another false lead. The detective replies “because he is currently serving a life sentence in Florida and he is a serial killer too”. It’s not like Gary Ridgway needed any help with his serial killings gaining all the notariety like it has over the years, but when you add in the Ted Bundy factor, it does become one of the most interesting stories of all time, when your talking about all the famous American serial killers of all time.

The final list that is out now has Gary Ridgway with 44 murdered victims and some of those have still not been found. His first victim is said to be Wendy Lee Coffield and she was only 16 years old. She was murdered on July 8th of 1982 and her body was discovered on July 15, 1982. There is 3 of the women that are age 31 or older, but the majority of women were in their teens and twenties and some as young as 15 years old.

If you like true stories and long movies, I highly recommend watching The Capture of the Green River Killer. It has been shown on the Lifetime Network a few times already and if you look for it there, it should be coming on again in the near future. The movie is 4 hours long and it’s a great way to tell the story, as you will get to see the story unfolding from one of the victim’s eyes and it’s like what she would be thinking if she did have a voice from beyond the grave.

I’m sure there is thousands and thousands of kids and probably a few adults too, that is looking forward to the new movie that is coming out May 9th. I think Speed Racer will be the number 1 movie this week at the box office. Just seeing some of the previews to this movie, you can tell that they didn’t take any shortcuts to making this movie. Some of the scenes in the movie look really intense and all the fancy graphics is candy for the eyes.

Speed Racer promises to pack a punch, as movie watchers will get to see this mach 5 speed car light up the big screen. This vehicle has no limits and it will jump over trees and even go under water. I’m sure the folks that have to put up with rush hour traffic in the mornings and evenings on their way to and from work, would love to have a car that could do all of this! When Speed Racer is not racing, he still has an exciting life of battling villains with his kid brother Spritle, girlfriend Trixie and pet monkey Chim-Chim.

This movie does look like it will be filled with action from start to end. The main story line appears to center around the cross-country rally known as The Crucible. In the past this race took the life of Speed Racer’s brother Rex Racer. So with all the competition that is going on for Speed in this movie, he also has to battle the memories of his late brother. I think all kids of all ages will absolutely love this movie and all parents will need to make an effort to get their kids to the theaters this weekend to see the movie. I’m sure all the kids will be talking about the movie Speed Racer at school on Monday morning, so don’t let them give away any secrets to the movie and spoil it for your children. This movie will not be like the typical movie for kids and adults will enjoy this one as much as the younger folks. It appears to be a movie like Shrek that will entertain all ages in the crowd.

The movie is 2 hours and 15 minutes long. It’s rated PG and will start nation wide in theaters on May 9th, 2008. The cast includes: Emile Hirsch as Speed Racer, Susan Surandon as Mom Racer, John Goodman as Pops Racer, Christina Ricci as Trixie and Matthew Fox as Racer X. It’s getting close to that one time of the year we pay tribute to all the deserving moms out there. They deserve special treatment for 365 days of the year; because the services they provide is all year long. There will be a game 7 for the David and Goliath match up in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The playoff team with the fewest wins will be facing the team with the most wins in the NBA this year on Sunday afternoon in Boston, Massachusetts. The Atlanta Hawks were expected to get blown out this series and the Boston Celtics were favored to win this 1st round match up in 4 games. The first two games were in Boston’s favor, but when the series switched to Hotlanta, the men in Green got shut down. Boston lost the next two at Philips Arena in Atlanta and went back home to win game 5.

So the stage was all set for Boston to clinch the series in Atlanta tonight and everyone would be left talking about what a great team Boston has and what a good effort the Atlanta Hawks gave. The young and talented Hawks didn’t go out like that and they fought hard on their home floor tonight and held off the powerhouse in the NBA. The Celtics led for most of the game, but you just knew Boston was in trouble when Atlanta took the lead in the 4th quarter. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett really don’t deserve to wear NBA jerseys and I’m sure the Boston fans are not happy with their cocky attitudes on the floor. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett are the two reasons why the Celtics are struggling and they have 1 game to figure it out or this season is over for them. The time now is “Win or Go Home” and I think fans will be in for a big treat Sunday afternoon. The Atlanta Hawks I believe have more to prove and don’t think the first 3 games in Boston will be like the 4th one there. Atlanta comes into game 7 with all the confidence they need to beat these guys in green. Our coach is awful and the offense has no passing whatsoever, but the Hawks are still managing to win games against the Boston Celtics. The game will be on ABC Sunday afternoon and when the last seconds tick off in this game, the winner will be on to round 2 to face the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James and company are getting a chance to rest up now for the winner of this game and we shall see if that helps or hurts them when they go to battle in round 2.

EXPERT WEIGHS IN ON BOSTON .VS. ATLANTA

The Hilton Head Island that is found off the coast of South Carolina, is one of the most beautiful barrier islands on the east coast of the United States. I would love to take a vacation to this island and stay at one of the Hilton Head rentals that are available on the tiny island located in the Atlantic Ocean. There is a lot of fun activities that visitors can enjoy on the island, along with great places to eat. I’m sure there would be some seafood restaurants there that would have fresh seafood from the ocean. You know if 1.5 million people are visiting the island each year, that there has to be something there they are going to see. Perhaps it’s the things that surround the island like the Calibogue Sound, the Intracoastal Waterway, the Broad River or the Atlantic Ocean. There is no doubts that beauty is on and around the entire island of Hilton Head and I think it would make a great summer vacation destination for any family!
