Poker Not on TV as Much
You don’t see poker on the tube as much as you did a few years back. It seems Texas Hold’em and games like that are losing their steam. The poker world has created some superstars and they are still big tournaments going on, it just seems the tv producers are not putting them on the air as much. I guess there is just so much you can sit and watch a poker game on tv.
I never did get caught up in the craze on television, but do enjoy playing local poker tournaments around my hometown. It’s illegal for us to win cash in Georgia, so most of the places around here that do it, pay out in house cash. House cash allows you to buy food and drinks; so it’s like going to buy a meal at a restaurant and you get to play poker too. I have won a couple of the tournaments, but I’m really just an average poker player. My biggest win was a tournament that had 24 players in it and I took home first that night. That was a big night for me and as far as the local poker tournaments around here go. The weekend poker games with friends are fun too, but for anybody wanting to learn more about poker from tv, might have a hard time finding it these days.
