NFL Mock Draft for 2008

The 2008 NFL Draft is fast approaching and teams are still trying to move around the draft board. If all the teams stay put like it is now, I believe I see how this 2008 NFL Draft will play out. I don’t follow the same old patterns of the other mock drafts you have probably seen online. I evaluate talent and I line that talent up in order from best to worse. Mel Kipper might have the name that everyone knows, but I have the best players in the country in my first round listing of the eligible players for the 2008 NFL Draft.

1) Miami Dolphins - Matt Ryan

2) St. Louis Rams - Darren McFadden

3) Atlanta Falcons - Andre Woodson

4) Oakland Raiders - Chris Long

5) Kansas City Chiefs - Jake Long

6) New York Jets - Sedrick Ellis

7) New England Patriots - DeShaun Jackson

8 ) Baltimore Ravens - Ryan Clady

9) Cinncinati Bengals - Mike Jenkins

10) New Orleans Saints - Glenn Dorsey

11) Buffalo Bills - Brian Brohm

12) Denver Broncos - Derrick Harvey

13) Carolina Panthers - Chris Williams

14) Chicago Bears - Jeff Otah

15) Detroit Lions - Kenny Phillips

16) Arizona Cardinals - Leodis McKelvin

17) Minnesota Vikings - Keith Rivers

18) Houston Texans - Rashard Medenhall

19) Philadelphia Eagles - Dominique Cromartie

20) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Malcolm Kelly

21) Washington Redskins - Vernon Gholston

22) Dallas Cowboys - Devin Thomas

23) Pittsburgh Steelers - Aquib Talib

24) Tennessee Titans - Felix Jones

25) Seattle Seahawks - Johnathan Stewart

26) Jacksonville Jaguars - Calais Campbell

27) San Diego Chargers - Kentwan Balmer

28) Dallas Cowboys - Gosder Cherilus

29) San Francisco 49ers - Quentin Groves

30) Green Bay Packers - James Hardy

31) New England Patriots - Michael Vick?

32) New York Giants - Branden Albert

Those are the top 31 players that the NFL GM’s should be taking in this year’s draft. I’m sure some will slip into the 2nd round of the draft and will be some nice finds for teams picking these players in the 2nd round. The 2008 NFL Draft has average talent this year and I don’t really see any can’t miss prospects. Matt Ryan should have a descent NFL career and he’s ready to step in now and take over half of the jobs in the NFL. I’m sure whoever drafts him will work him in slowly and not realize that Matt Ryan is already ahead of the QB they have in place now. Darren McFadden showed his ability to take over games and I assume he will continue this into the NFL too. The Dallas Cowboy fans will really find a couple of quality players they will be able to stick into their team for next year and Dallas isn’t too far away from another Super Bowl appearance from their legendary status as America’s Team.

Don’t expect my draft to play out like it should, because the combines have more importance than what these young men actually did in games last year. I could draft better than half of the current GM’s that hold jobs in the National Football League. It’s sad, because I give out the best free advice possible and they get paid big bucks to give out bad advice.

Don’t let the Kipper fool ya; these are the 31 best players for this year’s draft. Yes, I did include Michael Vick as the Patriots pick, because I have a solid source of information coming in, that Vick will be a Patriot soon! He is going to be the replacement of the future for the best player in the NFL in Randy Moss.

If you like seeing your face or name mentioned on television, don’t feel alone. The GM’s love to hear all the media talk they can on their teams and that is why Chris Long will be a hot commodity on draft day. I’m sure Terry, Howie and Jimmy will keep close eyes on the son of Howie Long and the team that lands him will get that extra coverage from the FOX guys on Sundays.

UK Mortgage Seekers Act Fast

Now is the time to act on a mortgage as over 1 million fixed rate mortgages are due to expire in 2008 and brokers are urging citizens to snatch up these offers before they are gone. If you’re in a position to make a move to a new mortgage; now is the time to get in on the action. You can find places online to compare Mortgages and get the deal that is most suitable for you. Locking in your fixed rate now, could save people lots of money down the road as changes may be just around the corner. Buying a home or land is just like buying something at the supermarket. You want the best deal for your money so you compare the other brands before you pick out your groceries every week. See all the available mortgages that exist on the market today and see which one is best suited to you and your family’s budget. Taking a little time to compare mortgages can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars down the road. Most people will still be paying for their mortgages decades from now; so locking in a fixed rate now could be the best way to go!

Top 10 Rock Ballads of All Time

The countdown is on to find the top 10 rock ballads of all time. Those great songs from the 80’s and 90’s that still makes us want to crank up the radio when we hear them. A rock ballad is that one song you can identify a rock band or singer with. The ballad is like their theme song or it can be the first song that comes to your mind when you hear the singer or group’s name. I love a lot of the rock ballads that have came out over the years and this will be tough to get the top 10 of all time in this countdown. I’m sure I could pick 50 great rock ballads and I will still leave one off.

So to get the countdown started I will start with number 10 and work my way up to number 1. I will release a new ballad every few days and you can chime in and let me know how I am doing with my countdown to the greatest rock ballad of all time!

10th Best Rock Ballad of All Time

For anyone that was around when this song came out can remember just how popular it was. If you ever had the chance to attend a Cinderella concert you would get chills just listening to the piano that would start this song off. It’s truly a classic and I think it will be one rock ballad that will always be associated with the group Cinderella.

So number 10 is in the books and I have 9 more great rock ballads to come, so stick around and see which one I will name as the greatest rock ballad of all time!

Yard Sale Bargains

I don’t have much time these days and the weather is still pretty cold, but I do love seeing all the yard sales on the weekends. You can really find some good bargains out there and if you make a habit of going to yard sales, you will come away with some nice finds. I like the fact that most things in yard sales will go cheaper than the price that might be on them. So it’s a great opportunity for us bargain hunters that like to talk down the price of the items that we might see. I’m still looking for a good deal on a homemade quilt. I find ones that I like, but they are still out of my price range. I know homemade quilts take a lot of time to make and are worth the hundreds that most people sell them for, but I would like to find one a little cheaper. I would like a homemade quilt as a mattress topper for my bed. Just something that would look nice if I have company in my bedroom. So when the weather gets a little warmer and the yard sales start happening, I will be looking for a homemade quilt that has a good price tag with it!

The New Rambo Movie?

Has anyone seen it yet? I haven’t heard anyone talking about it and was just curious. I haven’t had a chance to go and see it yet; but I’m sure I will like it. I love all the Rambo and Rocky movies and I’m sure the newest Rambo movie will be good too. I did see some funny t-shirts that had Rocky and Rambo as an old guy with a walker and shooting a machine gun or an old man with boxing gloves in the nursing home. It is amazing to see Sly Stallone in his 60’s and still doing these action movies. I guess he and Clint Eastwood just really enjoy making movies and the money has never been a issue for them. That’s the reason that both actors have so many great movies out. Please be sure to tell me about the new Rambo movie if you have seen it. Give me a rating scale 1-10; with 10 being a great movie and 1 means it wasn’t worth the 8 dollar ticket price.

Boston Red Sox Players Get Greedy

Yes, once again greed has consumed Major League Baseball and this time it’s the players for the Boston Red Sox. They were threatening to boycott the baseball game in Japan due to money. OH WHAT’S THAT TERRY? You want to make it perfectly clear this wasn’t about the players and it was the others associated with the team? Well my friend let me make this perfectly clear; the average baseball player makes more in one year; than a guy in corporate America makes in 25 years. If your words meant anything Mr. Terry Francona this story would have never been an issue or been brought up in the media. If the players care so much, just let them donate 1 percent of their pay to the coaches, trainers and other people that is associated with the team. Instead your players chose to deprive the fans here and in Japan of watching Major League Baseball. Sure your players were sticking up for the low paying guys working with the team; but the only way they knew how to do this was by not taking the field?

The Boston Red Sox has now become the lead culprit in the ugly world of baseball. Why we are in 2008 and still don’t have a level playing field for all the teams is beyond me. It’s only spring training and we are already hearing about the rich spoiled brats of summer trying to keep fans from baseball again. Many will agree with what the players were thinking; but they went about it all wrong. Terry Francona allowed this to go on while the team was on his watch and I hold Terry Francona personally responsible.

So Terry Francona the manager of the Boston Red Sox thinks he’s so big to make that opening announcement about making it perfectly clear that this wasn’t about the players and being greedy; well you’re dead wrong! Its money, money and more money and baseball has once again lost another step to all the other sports leagues and this time we can directly point the finger at Terry Francona and the Boston Red Sox. Who cares about the Red Sox spring training games, regular season games or even post season games; when they have one of the highest salaries in Major League Baseball and now they won’t the fans to miss more baseball as they try to get more money for people associated with the team.

The Boston Red Sox don’t get it; Terry Francona doesn’t get it and Major League Baseball has never gotten it! Sorry Red Sox fans and I know this must not be pleasing to hear, but your players were greedy and this was the wrong approach and Terry Francona allowed it. No more Red Sox baseball cards or memorabilia for me, I will stick to the pinstripes from New York or the merchandise from my local team the Atlanta Braves. Yes the Yankees are the worse team at the greed, but it’s not them threatening to take baseball away from the fans like the Boston Red Sox and Terry Francona was doing in the spring of 2008.
