There is no telling what new obstacles or global disasters we might have to face in the future. I think many changes are going to be in the near future for all of us, as global warming continues on record pace. Who knows where the next big hurricane, tsunami or earthquake might hit on our planet we call Earth. I’m sure new diseases will be discovered and we will all have to take measures to prevent the spread of them. We might also see new everyday hazards that our bodies will have to pay for, like the ones suffering from mesothelioma today. There is no doubt that the world is changing around us and it’s up to us to make changes now or learn to adapt to the future. Don’t think these changes are hundreds and hundreds of years away and we won’t see them in our lifetime. We are already seeing the changes take place now and who knows what new disaster or disease we will be trying to lend help to tomorrow.

If you’re lucky enough to have your family around you through the week and on weekends, be sure you don’t take that for granted and do things to increase the bond. You only get one family in life, so taking care of them is important. A Saturday night card game or a board game is a great way to spend time with those that we love.
You can always go get one of those 1,000 or 5,000 piece puzzles and gather the family around the dining room table to help complete a mission. It’s really fun when you try to do it one night or see if the whole family can get the puzzle put together in 1 week. I think a puzzle is great way to build that bond with other family members. You might even see your kids inviting their friends over to help put the puzzle together too! You can sleep easy at nights knowing your kids are putting together a puzzle, rather than having them out getting in trouble some where. You will be building memories with your family that last a lifetime and everyone will have their favorite stories of putting that puzzle together years and years down the road; when you reflect on those family night events.

So you started a company or business and now you have started to generate a profit for your self. Where do you go from here? Hopefully up and depending on what type of business you’re actually in, can determine the different ways to move forward. The important thing for all companies is not to rest or slow down on the accomplishments and strides you have made so far. Keep charging ahead and don’t let any days pass by, without trying to move your company to that next level.
Getting the most out of your employees is the key to any successful business. Taking the time to check employee performance evaluations and learning new ways to keep them motivated will go a long ways to moving your company to that next level. It’s important that you let each employee know what your company does, what you expect from them and how their work provides a valuable part to the company’s success. When an employee knows the service or product they are helping to make successful, gives them a chance to follow along in the company’s success and helps them to understand what needs to be done each and every day. Make sure that all your employees know if they make the sacrifices today of helping the company move to the next level, that you will be rewarding them tomorrow. It’s the relationship between the boss and the worker that determines the faith of most businesses. Make sure they understand you and you understand them and there’s no telling where you might go next, when team work is on your side!

I got to thinking about all the golf courses and wondered what type of restrictions they have when it comes to droughts? We are experiencing one of the worse droughts in our area over the last 50 years and every drop of water is precious to us. I see a lot of golf courses that still have that beautiful green grass. So they are obviously watering their courses and should they really be allowed to? I think it’s important to let businesses like car washes continue to use their water, because it is vital to the owners and their employees. I don’t think golf courses fall under those same rules and you can play golf on brown grass as easy as you can on the green grass fairways. I would hope my state gets involved and hold golf courses all over the state in the same restrictions as the home owners in our state.
Golf courses can take measures to help trap the water when it does rain. Most golf courses have lakes and creeks on their property that they can pump water to different areas needing the extra moisture. Golfers help too and the ones that have the little spikes on their golf shoes are punching little holes all over the golf course and this helps the rain to soak in, when it is raining. We all need to pitch in and help conserve our precious water, but let’s make the same rules and restrictions for golf courses as the other residents in our area.

I have suffered from kidney stones over the last 10 years or so and during that time I have received all sorts of advice. When I had my first kidney stone in 1995, I was told at the emergency room that they didn’t really know what caused them. They said a lot of people in my area suffer from them and maybe there was something in our local water here. Since then, the medical staff has gave me all sorts of new information and to stay away from all the cokes and tea I drink everyday.
My latest advice was to drink cranberry juice and the man that told me this, said he hasn’t had a kidney stone in the last 20 years and he believes cranberry juice is the key. I knew cranberry juice was good for the kidneys and others have told me to drink more of it, so I think I will try to add a little more of it to my diet each week. I’m not really sure if it can prevent kidney stones, but I’m sure my kidneys can use all the help they can get in keeping my body running right. The kidneys filter so many things in the body and it’s important to take care of them the best you can. I know I haven’t did a good job with mine and I will have to pay for it in the near future, with more kidney stones or having to go to a hospital or doctor’s office everyday to have them filter by machines.
Your kidneys are very important and please be sure that you are eating and drinking everything that helps them to perform properly. Don’t make the same mistakes as I did and if you take care of them, they will last you a lifetime and that’s something I’m probably not going to be able to say 20 or 30 years down the road; when I am searching for a donor to have a kidney transplant. Drink that cranberry juice!
