Hello my name is Brett Bumeter and I would like to introduce you to Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10. Now that’s not necessarily the most effective way to capture information off of a whiteboard, but if you need the information copied into text form, it can be very useful and I’m simply trying to illustrate a point.

There are many ways that you can use this particular program to save you a great deal of time, to further illustrate that point, I have written this entire note so far in under three minutes flat! That’s a little over 175 words per minute, and this is actually the fastest ever time that I have recorded with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. When I used version 9, I had clocked the program running at about 167 words per minute, and so with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 and a brand-new laptop, I have just set a new personal record.

That doesn’t include editing time which I will go back and do now, but it’s still amazing to be a laugh your words and thoughts captured so quickly by your computer.

A good movie is currently playing at theaters right now called Changeling. I haven’t seen the movie yet, so I really can’t say if it is good or isn’t. I do know it’s a true story and from the previews, it looks like a really good movie. I think movie go’ers are agreeing with me, because it continues to stand strong at the box offices. It’s currently listed as the 5th top movie and Changeling may stay in the top 10 for a while.

The story revolves around a woman that loses her son and counts on the Los Angeles Police Department to help her find him. The police was under a lot of pressure to find this boy, so instead of actually finding him, they find an imposter to portray the child. The woman knows it’s not her son and pleads with police to find her real son. The police target the woman and try to convince folks that she is crazy and her son has been found.

I think this is a good story line for a fictional movie, but when you factor in the events are based on true facts, it makes it a must-see movie. Changeling is a unique movie and this is what Hollywood needs most right now. The same old stories are not working as well these days and we crave new material in our local theaters. I’m not sure why this story has been kept away from the public all of these years, but maybe the movie will shed some light on this. I do plan to go watch this movie and I think it will be worth the price of admission. Changeling is the top playing movie right now, that has my attention the most.

I’m sure you can find lots of people with memories of this song at their high school proms. The 2008 Black Friday is going to be a very special one for shoppers this year. So many stores are reporting weak sales right now and this will only help the deals consumers will find. The day after Thanksgiving has always been the best day to shop for bargains and this should stay true in 2008. Stores want your business and they are going to go all out this year and help shoppers save the most money possible. This will be one hectic Friday, but for those that wake up early that morning and get to the malls will see the low, low prices that will be available.

It’s really not Christmas time yet until we eat some turkey and dressing and have the chance to go shopping. Many will be in the Christmas spirit on Black Friday and will see all the shoppers looking for the best discounts possible. Clothing and electronics should be hot sellers and I think this will be consumer’s best bets on the day after Thanksgiving. The stock market is in bad shape and people are losing their jobs, but these may just be more reasons to see an increase in shopping; for those that are brave enough to face the crowds after Thanksgiving Day.

I really don’t see why the CSI shows are so popular on tv these days. CSI is the initials for Crime Scene Investigation and the CSI programs deal with non-fiction stories. They are a lot of good programs that come on each week that deal with true-life stories. Many of these cases get solved with some type of DNA testing and you can see how real investigators have solved crimes from the past. DNA is still relatively new to solving crimes and when a crime isn’t solved immediately, it becomes a cold case. Cold cases are getting solved today thanks to the advancements in DNA technology. So for me, I would prefer to see real stories being solved with the help of DNA; than the fake shows that are so popular on television these days.

The Atlanta Hawks came out of the gates strong and won their first 5 games of the season. After suffering a 1 point loss to the Boston Celtics, the Hawks lost two more times to the New Jersey Nets. For the fans and people that really watched the Hawks win their first 5 games, should have known that this was coming. The team continues to add depth and more talent each year, but the same philosphy continues to thrive. Coach Mike Woodson is bound and determined to make Joe Johnson a star in the NBA and it’s just not working out. Joe Johnson has been giving the keys to this team and he can’t lead them past most of the teams in the NBA. The Hawks should really focus on other guys and start using a running style tempo to get the advantage over teams. They don’t play like an athletic team and this has hurt them severely. The Hawks need a new coach and they should have got one last year, when Woodson was going to get fired by Billy Knight. The Hawks need a new coach or the old coach to realize that Joe Johnson needs to be benched for poor play. Joe Johnson does not get out there and hustle or get his shirt untucked and this is why the Hawks have no direction at the moment. It’s time for a change in Atlanta and hopefully Mike Woodson is on his way out in Atlanta.

The Carolinas is a beautiful part of the South and the country too. If you have never seen the mountains or the beaches in the Carolinas, you really are missing out on some beautiful scenery. The Outer Banks of Carolina is a perfect place to take the family for vacation. It’s easy for travelers to find rental properties to stay in and visitors are always welcomed to the Outer Banks region. Making a trip to North or South Carolina just for the weekend can be a lot of fun. My buddies like to load up and make a weekend trip to the Carolinas and it’s a very short drive for us in North Georgia. Anyone living in the Southeastern part of the country will find the drive is well-worth the trip to Carolina. Just keep the Carolinas in mind the next time you and the family sit down to plan out the family vacation!

My fantasy basketball season got off to a good start and my team went 11-2 in it’s first week. We play 13 games each week in my fantasy league and that’s how many stat categories we have. Things like points, rebounds, and assists are things we can win games on and determines how we did. Our fantasy basketball league starts on Monday and ends on Sunday. You get matched up with another team in the league and you play against that team for the whole week. So my first week I played against the High Flyin Hawks and my team’s name is Hotlanta Hawks. Our league does consist of owners from Georgia, but there is only 2 Hawk’s teams in our league. It was just coincidence that we played each other first in our 10 team fantasy basketball league.

The two stat categories or games I lost on were in the areas of field goal percentage and turnovers. The High Flying Hawks had 19 more percentage points in the field goal race and my team had 2 more turnovers than his team. The other 11 stat categories I won in, so that is the reason my record now stands at 11-2. I barely won the “free throws made” stat and my team had 115 and the High Flying Hawks had 113. The offensive rebound stat was even closer than that and I only won that stat by 2. I don’t mind losing the turnover and field goal percentage games, but I do focus on the other 11 stats. I do need to improve my team with players that can get more offensive rebounds and with players that get to the free throw line more. I really done well in the points category and won that by 90. So maybe trying to figure out a way to trade some of those points for some offensive boards and guys that make a lot of free throws.

I really like my team and I am very balanced. I may not have a team that is good at any one stat, but I’m hard to beat across the board. So I won’t let teams beat me easily and I should be competitive in most of the stat categories each week. I do have a team of thieves and I got a lot of steals last week. My team had 46 steals and my opponent’s team got only 32. So if there was one stat that I am currently thriving in, it would be the steals category and I might go undefeated in that stat category all year long. I’m sure injuries will come into play shortly and that might change the whole make-up of my team. Michael Redd is my first injury and his status for Wednesday’s night game is uncertain right now. It’s nothing major and just a bad ankle he hurt the other night. Even if he does suit up and play tomorrow night, I already have plans to keep him on the bench.

The players I am counting on the most in my fantasy basketball league are Dwayne Wade my first round pick and then guys like Tracy McGrady, Ron Artest, Vince Carter, and my favorite player Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks. I will be riding these guys back and trying to surround them with the best players possible. I’m keeping up with the whole NBA right now and plan to stay that way until my team can be comfortably in first place. There were two other teams in my league that went 11-2 last week, so right now I am in a 3 way tie for first place. This week the Hotlanta Hawks will play the Warriors and their team was 7-6 last week. So they had a winning week too, so one of our two teams will lose their first match-up this week.

I know for people like me that live pay check to pay check don’t always time things out just right and it can make things stressful sometimes. I often run out of money before I get my next pay check and it would be helpful to have a cash advance for those times. We need those oil changes and new breaks to keep our cars running, so we can’t really cut costs there. If the car dealers would just sell them cheaper that would help or if our insurance companies were cheaper. Our car insurance is something that we love when we do wreck or breakdown, but it sure does take a lot of money each year to keep it. It’s a law in my state to have insurance on your car, so we don’t have a choice here. We have to pay the insurance rates, so we certainly want to find the places with the best deals. I’m not really sure where we can save money when it comes to our cars, because most of the costs are something you need. I guess fewer trips to the car wash or washing it at home is one way to save car costs. The best thing to do is drive less and it’s the best way car owners can lower the cost they pay each year for their automobiles. A great southern song that I think many people from the south and perhaps the midwest know the meaning of these lyrics. Down on the Farm by Tim McGraw is played at a lot of parties and it’s one of those songs that can get a whole crowd singing in a hurry. I have had my share of good times with this song and its one of my favorite Tim McGraw songs. This song came out in the early days and many people didn’t know who Tim McGraw was then. You can sure bet they know who he is now and he continues to be one of the top country artists today. Down on the Farm is a good example of a upbeat or dancing country song and it screams country music. If you can’t relate to this song; then you probably never had loud music at an outdoor party and having outdoor parties is the best. It seems the sky is the limit and you can yell and jump around all you want outside. I know it’s not real hard to get people dancing at an outdoor party when they hear a great country song like Down on the Farm. It will be a long two days, but I sure will be glad when this election stuff is over with and we can go back to life as usual. It gets old seeing the same old political ads on television and seeing which candidate can put the other down the most. I don’t think any ticket is too attractive for the presidential election, but I would have to lean for McCain/Paulin ticket as of right now. I’m not a registered voter and I don’t plan to be one anytime soon. I don’t care to do jury duty and I don’t think your vote really counts anyways. I’m not sure how much value goes in these polls, but it seems like they have a grasp on who might win the 2008 presidential election. All signs point to Obama being our next president, but I love an underdog and would be happy to see John McCain pull out a little magic at the end.

The presidential election has been covered way too much on our 24 hour news stations and can’t wait until they get back to talking about things that are more news worthy right now. I do hope a president is named by noon Wednesday November 5th and there is no debate or lingering effects like we had back in 2000 with Al Gore and George W. Bush. The local ads get on my nerves too and can’t wait to see them gone from my television set. So just two more long days and we can put this 2008 election in the books and start dreading the next presidential election that will happen in 2012.

I hope everyone has a great Halloween day, night, and weekend! I use to love Halloween as a kid and getting all of that candy. It was fun dressing up in the different costumes too. No kids like getting apples, granola bars or anything that is healthy like that. Halloween is a day meant to eat junk food, so let’s keep it junky and the more junk the better!
