Frank Sinatra Christmas Video with Lights

Here is a little video to help you get in the Christmas mood. I was amazed when I saw this video. It must have took a lot of hard work to get the lights to do what they do in this video.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town by Frank Sinatra

Is that amazing or what? How did they do that?

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how they did this, please let me know. I guess you could have someone near the light switch or near the place you plug in the lights and set them off that way. You would have to be a musician to know when all the right notes were going to get played or just know that Frank Sinatra song really well. The last time I was this amazed at Christmas lights on a house, is when Chevy Chase was plugging up all those lights in Christmas Vacation. I really think that Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase is one of the better Christmas movies that is out there.

Whoever made this video did a great job! According to the description at YouTube it was the Macrina Family.

The Secret Santa Lives On

There use to be a man that would go through diners, laudromats, bus stations, shelters and thrift stores giving away $100 dollar bills. He would say it was his way of giving back for Christmas, since he had been so blessed in his lifetime. That man went unknown for a long time and later it was discovered that his name was Larry Stewart.

Now recently a woman that was homeless and trying to find a way back to her home in Minneapolis ran across a stranger on a December afternoon. She had sat and talked with this stranger that had a red coat and red hat. After talking for a bit, the man quietly got up and slipped her a $100 bill and told the poor woman that it was a tribute to Larry Stewart. So now a new Santa or “Larry Stewart” has emerged and leaves one wondering where this gesture might lead. Maybe the man in the red coat will continue the legacy of Larry Stewart and start passing out $100 bills. Perhaps it was just a really sad story that the woman told and the man felt the need for this generosity one time. I would expect others to hear about this and wouldn’t be surprised to see the Secret Santa continue to live on.

Larry Stewart passed away earlier this year at the age of 58.

Intentions Changing the World?

Do you believe intentions can change the world? Do intentions and positive thinking have powers beyond the way we think today? That is what best selling author Lynne McTaggart is trying to find out and asks “Can intention change the world?”. Shift In Action is a program trying to find out more about the powers of intentions and how it affects our daily lives.

Can Intention Change the World?

So what did you think?

I think that’s some pretty deep stuff and very interesting at the same time. There might be something to this and maybe we can control things with our minds more than we thought we could. They aren’t just trying to prove this with theories and examples and they’re trying to go at this in a scientific manner. A non-profit and education institute is trying to lend some assistance to this process too. The Institute of Noetic Sciences that started in 1973 and was created by Captain Edgar Mitchell (astronaut) is dedicated to advancing the science of consciousness and human experience to serve individual and collective transformation. The “One Minute Shift” is aimed at placing small pieces of wisdom with music and sound to expand your mind, open your heart and shift your daily life. I think this could just be the tip of the iceberg to uncovering more things that our minds have the power to do. So the question still remains “Can Intention Change the World?”.

Google Favors Longer Anchor Text

I got an interesting email today and it was talking about SEO (search engine optimization) and how to improve your search engine rankings with Google. One of the suggestions was to use longer trails for your anchor text. So if you have a blog and make a post that you want a high ranking for; try to use longer anchor text. The email used the example for apple pies. I’m sure apple pies is a popular keyword and gets used for anchor text a lot. Some of the suggestions were: “delicious apple pie”, “homemade apple pie”, “baking apple pies”, etc…

So if you have a keyword that is popular, you might want to try and add a longer trail to it. You need something that makes your keyword or anchor text more unique than the next person’s. SEO is all about being different, so when someone uses a little extra on their search, you can be sure they see your website come up as one of the choices. Search engines are the lifeblood of the internet and its the way most of us navigate around from one website to another. There’s always something you can be doing to get your website in a better placement on the search engines. Getting the most one way links to your website as possible and a lot of daily traffic can get your website ranked really high on Google or any of the other search engines.

$100 Stock To Buy For 2008

As an investor I like to purchase stocks that have a price under $50 a share. I do this so my money can buy more shares of a company. There are a lot of stocks that are above my $50 mark and will out gain the lower price shares that I am buying. I just feel better obtaining a larger number of shares for my money, in case I do hit a hot stock, I can enjoy a nice surge by owning mores shares. However, I do keep my eyes out for the higher priced stocks and good thing I did, because I think I found a good one.

The Company is Southern Copper Corporation and their stock symbol is: PCU  Their shares are a little over $100 and today’s closing price was $102.24 up $1.10. I see this company being a hot stock for the upcoming 2008 year. A lot of good things make this a solid selection and those nice dividends don’t hurt either. I think they paid out $1.60 on their last dividend payment. The mining they are doing in Mexico is continuing to produce rich deposits of the diffrent types of things they mine for. The company looks for copper, molybdenum, zinc and silver.

Now the one that catches my eye is the molybdenum. Molybdenum is a transition metal and is good for high strength steel alloys. I think the demand for molybdenum is about to increase and we could see new all time highs for this product. It normally sells for around $65,000 a ton and set a record in 2005 at $103,000 a ton. I think in 2008 we might see a sharp increase for the demand of molybdenum. So with Southern Copper Corporation mining for the molybdenum, they make a lot of sense for a stock that is about to take off. I wouldn’t be surprised if the stock increase 30 to 40 percent over the 2008 year. Shares of Southern Copper Corp could be nearing the $150 mark by the Christmas of 2008. So if you have a little extra money to throw at a hot new stock, be sure to look at Southern Copper Corp and see if they make sense for your portfolio.

Parcells Says No To the Atlanta Falcons

Bill Parcells was offered a front office job with the Atlanta Falcons, but Bill Parcells denied the offer and left the Falcons still searching. It appears the Falcons are on the right track and replacing the GM Rich McKay has to be at the top of their list. He has made one bad draft pick after another and there is very little talent to show in Atlanta for his horrendous drafts.

Bill Parcells would have just been one piece of the puzzle and the Falcons need guys that can play football. It’s not going to be in the best interest to go get free agents this off-season. Rebuilding is the way Atlanta needs to go right now and that will be the best recipie for success down the road. I still think Chan Gailey would make a great head coach for the Atlanta Falcons and I am surprised they are not persuing him right now. Gailey was relieved of his duties earlier by the Georgia Tech YellowJackets and this is great timing if you’re a Falcons fan. Chan Gailey plays a very aggressive offensive game and this is what this team needs. Too many plays they are running the ball on 3rd down and long situations. Chan Gailey would get the boys in Atlanta playing some football and the right way too!

So no Bill Parcells for the Falcons, so let the rumors start now. Marty Schottenheimer and Bill Cowher are talked about in the media a lot, but neither one of these guys would make much sense in Atlanta. The Falcons should persue Chan Gailey immediately, before some college yanks him up and takes his services off the market. Bill Cowher would not make a good Atlanta Falcons coach and I couldn’t really see Marty Schottenheimer as a Atlanta Falcon’s coach either. I think the Chargers winning games now, proves that Schottenheimer didn’t have much to do with the success of the San Diego Chargers after all. Don’t be surprised if the Atlanta Falcons dip back into the college coaches and land another young guy with no NFL experience. Arthur Blank’s main focus has to be a new general manager in Atlanta.

When Patients Escape

I saw an interesting story today and it involves the Christmas spirit. We all know how prisoners spend 24 hours a day trying to think of a way to escape. I guess people in hospitals can share a lot of their desires to get out as well. I know the 2 times I have spent in the hospital, I just couldn’t wait to leave. Some patients in South Africa decided to make their own escape plan and it was because they wanted to spend time with their families for Christmas. Now that sounds like a nice gesture, but these patients all suffer from TB. Tuberculosis is a highly contagious disease and people that suffer from it have to stay in quarantine. These 49 patients in Africa escaped by cutting a wire fence and getting out of the hospital’s isolation unit, in an apparent attempt for them to spend time with their families.

Since this story has broke 20 of the 49 patients have turned their self in. Authorities are hoping that more of these patients will follow suit. The area already suffers from a high aids population and the TB feeds that virus and a TB outbreak would be devastating to the folks in Southern Africa.

Mystery: Who Shot This Video?

There is currently a search under way to find the creators of this video below. The person that posted this on YouTube didn’t know where the original footage came from and now an intense search is in progress to find the makers of this video. It’s a story of two guys that are traveling from Los Angeles to New York and they have a camera mounted to the back of their car for the whole trip. Please watch the video below and any information you know about this video; then please relay it along!

MYSTERY VIDEO

Please reply if you have any knowledge concerning this video!

Now the singer you hear on the video is the daughter of Sally Struthers (Gloria -All In the Family) and her name is Sam Rader. She is a very talented musician that taught her self. Sam Rader began writing music in her early twenties and was inspired by artists like Paul McCartney, Lenny Kravitz, Fiona Apple, Radiohead, Tori Amos, Nick Drake, Beck, Jeff Buckley and Jason Falkner. She has now created her debut album Goldstar Galaxy and it includes 7 songs. One of the songs on that album is named “Grey” and it’s the song you hear in the video above. Sam has been playing to a loyal and devoted audience for the last 7 years and now you have the chance to listen to her music for your self. The lovely daughter of Sally Struthers is described to have a “sensual voice and distinctive melodies are as beckoning and satisfying as sun-warmed sand.” I like how they used the “sun-warmed sand” to describe Sam Rader and just hearing someone described in that way makes me want to hear their singing. If you would like to hear more of Sam Rader, you can order from one of the links below:

iTunes or CD Baby

Be sure to pass the word around and let’s solve the “Grey” Mystery! Let’s make sure we let the people know that their video of two guys driving from L.A. to New York is being shown all over the internet right now! They deserve the credit and to let them know just how rad they are!

Top 10 Movies This Past Weekend

Will Smith stole the show on the big screen this past weekend. His new movie I Am Legend led all the other movies and including the new movie Alvin and the Chipmunks; which finished second on the box office sales. I really wanted to go see I Am Legend but didn’t get the chance to. I think a movie about a man being the last person living on Earth would be pretty exciting. I think that would be a scary feeling, but even if you were the last person on Earth, surely you would believe that there would be someone else alive. So I think the last person living on Earth, won’t actually know they are the last person on Earth.

TOP TEN MOVIES

1. I Am Legend

2. Alvin and the Chipmunks

3. The Golden Compass

4. Enchanted

5. No Country For Old Men

6. The Perfect Holiday

7. This Christmas

8. Fred Claus

9. Atonement

10. August Rush

These movies are all going to be in a battle this upcoming week when Tom Hank’s Charlie Wilson’s War comes out. This looks like a good movie and deals with the tension between the Soviets and USA during the Cold War. Another good movie that starts Friday will be Sweeney Todd and this one should do well too. National Treasure: Book of Secrets will start with this group also and you should see these 3 movies, with Alvin and the Chipmunks and I Am Legend all in the top 5. If I had to predict the box office sales, this is the way I would rank them.

1. Charlie Wilson’s War

2. National Treasure: Book of Secrets

3. Alvin and the Chipmunks

4. Sweeney Todd

5. I Am Legend

I could see Alvin and the Chipmunks going past I Am Legend this week and possibly going back to their number 2 spot. It should be interesting to see where movie go’ers go and see this upcoming weekend before Christmas.

I would like to see all 5 of these movies and in time, I’m sure I will.

A Christmas Story

One of my all time favorite movies is A Christmas Story. It’s the story of a young boy that just wants a BB gun for Christmas. All he does is think about the gun and how to convince his parents on letting him have a BB gun. The movie reminds me of my childhood and those days leading up to Christmas. We are right now in the middle of those days and there are so many kids that can’t wait until Santa Clause comes.

Ralphie did everything in his powers to get that Red Rider BB Gun and it’s great how the movie solves the problem at the end. This movie is usually shown on TNT for 24 hours during Christmas Day. I haven’t seen the advertisements for it this year yet, but I’m sure a lot of networks will make sure that everyone has a chance to see A Christmas Story. It’s one of the best Christmas movies ever and I can’t think of one that is better. Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman was two movies I love to watch as a kid, but now I think A Christmas Story is my favorite holiday treat.

I really like the scenes that take place in school and the little boy that touches his tongue to the metal pole. That was were really funny and should be a lesson to all kids to watch what they put their tongues to, when the weather outside is below freezing. It must be nice to have snow like that during the Christmas holidays. I live in Georgia and if we get a few flurries here at anytime, it’s like Christmas Day for us. I’m hoping this year we get a big snow storm in the middle of the drought most of Georgia and the Southeast is going through right now.

If you have never seen the movie A Christmas Story, then be sure to check it out Christmas Day. I’m sure TNT will once again host their 24 hour marathon on A Christmas Story. I just turn my television to that channel and leave it on all day, so I can watch this movie over and over.

A Dangerous Addiction by Jordan Crowder

Here is another interesting short film by Jordan Crowder. He has created a lot of these small films and this one is called A Dangerous Addiction. You will never believe what the guy is addicted to in this film by Jordan Crowder.

A Dangerous Addiction

I got a good laugh out of that one! I think we all have did what the guy above was doing. I know as kids we use to fight over that stuff. It’s even carried over to my adulthood and it seems like it’s one of those things you have to do. I don’t think I have ever openned a package without busting a few of the bubbles on the bubble wrap.

I think this is a good sign of just how brilliant Jordan Crowder is. He took something that we are all familiar with and made a movie out of it. Something that we all do and it’s rarely brought up in conversations, unless someone is taking the bubble wrap out of a package at the moment. That’s a great little trait to have in producing movies or someone that might be on stage being a stand-up comic. It’s searching for material that everybody knows, but is rarely brought up in conversations. Taking that little nugget of information and blowing it up bigger than what it really is. The bubble wrap is a good example of that nugget you want as a comedian or a film producer.

I will be displaying more of Jordan’s videos later on. I’m saving some of my favorites for later and you can get to know who Jordan Crowder is from my blog here. He’s got a lot more great videos to come and once you see them, you will know he had to put a little time in creating them. Keep up the good work Jordan!

Books Online

You don’t have to go the library to get some of your favorite books anymore. The internet now makes it possible to take advantage of Ebooks. One of the best places to get your Ebooks is from Books On Board or BOB. BOB has competitive prices and a huge selection of books that total more than 190,000 to choose from!

It’s easy to navigate around at BOB and it’s easier than using the card library that uses index cards to log all their books. The left-hand sidebar has general topics like Bestsellers, Horror, Science Fiction, Biography, History and other topics like that, so you can quickly find the category your Ebook is listed under. They even have topics for Men’s Reading and Women’s Reading so you can look for reading interests that your particular gender might be reading these days. BOB also offers books in Adobe pdf, Mobipocket, Microsoft Reader and Palm/ereader format. So you have a nice choice of ways to get your Ebooks online. I think I will stroll on over and see what Harry Potter Books they have available!

2nd Best Player in the NBA?

Who is the second best player in the NBA game today? I think most would agree that Kobe Bryant is the best and that leaves the door open for who is the 2nd best. A lot of good candidates like Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, LeBron James or Kevin Garnett could be a solid pick as the second best player in the NBA.

In my mind there is no doubts that Tracy McGrady posses the 2nd best talent in the game today. His skills are phenomenal and he can score against anybody in the league. He has the ability to drive the ball to the hole and dunk on you with amazing hops. He can stroke the mid-range jumper and the long-three too. His defense is smothering and can shut down opponents when he chooses to do so. He is one guy that you don’t want getting off the last shot in a game. He lives for those moments and he’s one of the best clutch shooters when it comes to the crunch time late in games. I think he’s a complete player and Kobe Bryant is the only one that could beat him in a game of one-on-one. Tracy McGrady is the 2nd best player in the NBA and the rest of the guys fall below him!

Gifts For Girls

The shopping days are counting down and there just isn’t too many weekends left before Christmas. If you have any young ladies on your Christmas list this year, you will want to make sure you find the right gifts for girls. The girls can sometimes be harder to please than the boys are, so you might have to search a little harder to find that special gift for them. Perhaps your young girl likes to stay busy and getting her a knitting kit or a child’s sewing machine might just do the trick this Christmas. This seems like the perfect type of gift that she can have fun with and learn something very valuable too. A gift that can help them understand a trade for when they get older, could be one of the best Christmas presents you ever buy for the young lady of the house.
