A Christmas Story

One of my all time favorite movies is A Christmas Story. It’s the story of a young boy that just wants a BB gun for Christmas. All he does is think about the gun and how to convince his parents on letting him have a BB gun. The movie reminds me of my childhood and those days leading up to Christmas. We are right now in the middle of those days and there are so many kids that can’t wait until Santa Clause comes.

Ralphie did everything in his powers to get that Red Rider BB Gun and it’s great how the movie solves the problem at the end. This movie is usually shown on TNT for 24 hours during Christmas Day. I haven’t seen the advertisements for it this year yet, but I’m sure a lot of networks will make sure that everyone has a chance to see A Christmas Story. It’s one of the best Christmas movies ever and I can’t think of one that is better. Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman was two movies I love to watch as a kid, but now I think A Christmas Story is my favorite holiday treat.

I really like the scenes that take place in school and the little boy that touches his tongue to the metal pole. That was were really funny and should be a lesson to all kids to watch what they put their tongues to, when the weather outside is below freezing. It must be nice to have snow like that during the Christmas holidays. I live in Georgia and if we get a few flurries here at anytime, it’s like Christmas Day for us. I’m hoping this year we get a big snow storm in the middle of the drought most of Georgia and the Southeast is going through right now.

If you have never seen the movie A Christmas Story, then be sure to check it out Christmas Day. I’m sure TNT will once again host their 24 hour marathon on A Christmas Story. I just turn my television to that channel and leave it on all day, so I can watch this movie over and over.

A Dangerous Addiction by Jordan Crowder

Here is another interesting short film by Jordan Crowder. He has created a lot of these small films and this one is called A Dangerous Addiction. You will never believe what the guy is addicted to in this film by Jordan Crowder.

A Dangerous Addiction

I got a good laugh out of that one! I think we all have did what the guy above was doing. I know as kids we use to fight over that stuff. It’s even carried over to my adulthood and it seems like it’s one of those things you have to do. I don’t think I have ever openned a package without busting a few of the bubbles on the bubble wrap.

I think this is a good sign of just how brilliant Jordan Crowder is. He took something that we are all familiar with and made a movie out of it. Something that we all do and it’s rarely brought up in conversations, unless someone is taking the bubble wrap out of a package at the moment. That’s a great little trait to have in producing movies or someone that might be on stage being a stand-up comic. It’s searching for material that everybody knows, but is rarely brought up in conversations. Taking that little nugget of information and blowing it up bigger than what it really is. The bubble wrap is a good example of that nugget you want as a comedian or a film producer.

I will be displaying more of Jordan’s videos later on. I’m saving some of my favorites for later and you can get to know who Jordan Crowder is from my blog here. He’s got a lot more great videos to come and once you see them, you will know he had to put a little time in creating them. Keep up the good work Jordan!

Books Online

You don’t have to go the library to get some of your favorite books anymore. The internet now makes it possible to take advantage of Ebooks. One of the best places to get your Ebooks is from Books On Board or BOB. BOB has competitive prices and a huge selection of books that total more than 190,000 to choose from!

It’s easy to navigate around at BOB and it’s easier than using the card library that uses index cards to log all their books. The left-hand sidebar has general topics like Bestsellers, Horror, Science Fiction, Biography, History and other topics like that, so you can quickly find the category your Ebook is listed under. They even have topics for Men’s Reading and Women’s Reading so you can look for reading interests that your particular gender might be reading these days. BOB also offers books in Adobe pdf, Mobipocket, Microsoft Reader and Palm/ereader format. So you have a nice choice of ways to get your Ebooks online. I think I will stroll on over and see what Harry Potter Books they have available!

2nd Best Player in the NBA?

Who is the second best player in the NBA game today? I think most would agree that Kobe Bryant is the best and that leaves the door open for who is the 2nd best. A lot of good candidates like Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, LeBron James or Kevin Garnett could be a solid pick as the second best player in the NBA.

In my mind there is no doubts that Tracy McGrady posses the 2nd best talent in the game today. His skills are phenomenal and he can score against anybody in the league. He has the ability to drive the ball to the hole and dunk on you with amazing hops. He can stroke the mid-range jumper and the long-three too. His defense is smothering and can shut down opponents when he chooses to do so. He is one guy that you don’t want getting off the last shot in a game. He lives for those moments and he’s one of the best clutch shooters when it comes to the crunch time late in games. I think he’s a complete player and Kobe Bryant is the only one that could beat him in a game of one-on-one. Tracy McGrady is the 2nd best player in the NBA and the rest of the guys fall below him!

Gifts For Girls

The shopping days are counting down and there just isn’t too many weekends left before Christmas. If you have any young ladies on your Christmas list this year, you will want to make sure you find the right gifts for girls. The girls can sometimes be harder to please than the boys are, so you might have to search a little harder to find that special gift for them. Perhaps your young girl likes to stay busy and getting her a knitting kit or a child’s sewing machine might just do the trick this Christmas. This seems like the perfect type of gift that she can have fun with and learn something very valuable too. A gift that can help them understand a trade for when they get older, could be one of the best Christmas presents you ever buy for the young lady of the house.

Baseball Players on the Mitchell Report

The Mitchell Report recently came out and it was to provide information on the latest topic of steroids and baseball. The full report is 409 pages long and within those pages you can find a lot of baseball players that got named. I decided I would go through and list all the players, so people can check to see if any of their favorite players made the list or maybe one from your favorite baseball team.

The complete list of baseball players named in the Mitchell Report: Manny Alexander, Chad Allen, Rick Ankiel, David Bell, Mike Bell, Marvin Bernard, Gary
Bennett Jr., Larry Bigbie, Barry Bonds, Ricky Bones, Kevin Brown, Paul Byrd, Alex Cabrera, Ken Caminiti, Jose Canseco, Mark Carreron, Jason Christiansen, Howie Clark, Roger Clemens, Paxton Crawford, Jack Cust, Brendan Donnelly, Chris Donnels, Lenny Dykstra, Bobby Estalella, Matt Franco, Ryan Franklin, Eric Gagne, Jason Giambi, Jeremy Giambi, Jay Gibbons, Troy Glaus, Juan Gonzalez, Jason Grimsley, Jose Guillen, Jerry Hairston Jr., Matt Herges, Phil Hiatt, Glenallen Hill, Darren Holmes, Todd Hundley, Ryan Jorgensen, Wally Joyner, Mike Judd, David Justice, Chuck Knoblauch, Tim Laker, Mike Lansing, Paul Lo Duca, Nook Logan, Josias Manzanillo, Gary Matthews Jr., Mark McGwire, Cody McKay, Kent Merker, Bart Miadich, Hal Morris, Daniel Naulty, Denny Neagle, Rafael Palmiero, Jim Parque, Andy Pettitte, Adam Piatt, Todd Pratt, Stephen Randolph, Adam Riggs, Armando Rios, Brian Roberts, John Rocker, F.P. Santangelo, Benito Santiago, Scott Schoeneweis, David Segui, Gary Sheffield, Mike Stanton, Ricky Stone, Miguel Tejada, Derrick Turnbow, Isamel Valdez, Mo Vaughn, Randy Velarde, Ron Vilone, Fernando Vina, Rondell White, Jeff Williams, Matt Williams, Todd Williams, Steve Woodard, Kevin Young, and Greg Zaun

So did you find any surprises of a name on the list or a name that didn’t get added to the list? I don’t think it surprised too many to see names like Jose Canseco, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and Rafael Palmiero on the list. There was some stars that did surprise me. Since I am an Atlanta Braves fan the Dave Justice, Kent Mercker, John Rocker and Matt Franco were some of the names on the Mitchell Report that surprised me. Some speculation had came out earlier about Paul Byrd doing steroids, so I wasn’t surprised to see his name on the list.

I wondered how many New York Yankee players would get on the Mitchell Report and I was surprised to not see Alex Rodriguez or Derek Jeter get named to the famous Mitchell Report. There were some Yankee players on the Mitchell Report; Andy Pettitte, Hal Morris, Jason Giambi and Gary Sheffield were some of the New York Yankees to make the Mitchell Report. Mariano Rivera has been a very dominant closer for a long time in baseball, but his name didn’t get mentioned in the Mitchell Report.

The Boston Red Sox is another team that I really wanted to see how many Red Sox Players were on the Mitchell Report. Mo Vaughn, Eric Gagne and Roger Clemens were the Boston Red Sox players that made the Mitchell Report. So I guess based on the Mitchell Report the New York Yankees have had more help with steroids than the Boston Red Sox. I guess that’s why the Yankees have won more World Series than any other team in baseball.

There are some guys that made the list that I have never heard of before. I don’t think I know Howie Clark, Paxton Crawford, Jack Cust, Josias Manzanillo, Cody McKay, Bart Miadich, Stephen Randolph and Jeff Williams. If you know any of these players, then please chime in and let me know if these guys still play or if they are just young and haven’t really made an impact in the big leagues yet. I really don’t have a clue to these guys that were named on the Mitchell Report.

The Mitchell Report did name a few big stars like Matt Williams, Miguel Tejada, Paul Lo Duca, Troy Glaus, Brendan Donnelly and Kevin Brown to the list on the Mitchell Report. There were also some bigger stars that I have already mentioned that was on the list too. If you’re one of the baseball players on this list and you’re reading my blog right now, please let me know your thoughts on the Mitchell Report. All baseball players that have played want to leave any comments here, feel free to do so. I really would like to have a player’s opinnion on the Mitchell Report and feel free to add anything to the topic of steroids and baseball.
