Starbux Popularity

Coffee drinkers from far and wide are rushing to Starbux and places like that to get their fix for coffee or java. I guess to have something that is addictive and you can get 5 bucks a cup for is a worthy investment. It makes you want to run out and buy the espresso machines and set up your own coffee shop. I know there are several little coffee houses around where I live and they wouldn’t be there if they wouldn’t making any money. So I do believe a feller could get rich off of his own coffee shop.

I have so many addictions that I can’t name them all, but my taste buds have never found the taste of coffee. I love the smell of coffee and there’s nothing better than going into a restaurant in the wee hours of the morning and smelling that freshly brewed coffee. I know a lot of people in the construction type businesses that will meet for breakfast every morning and go to the local pancake house or something and you can hear those guys swear by the coffee they drink. There’s a lot of people out there that just can’t get going in the morning without their cup of coffee. I guess it’s one thing I can be thankful for, but I hope others continue to drink the stuff. I would miss that great smell of fresh brewed coffee if there were no more coffee drinkers around.

Real Estate Companies

Owning your own real estate company would probably make you a pretty rich person these days. So little land left to be bought and the billions of people living on this planet needing somewhere to go. It’s these two factors that make me want to start my own real estate company or conduct some type of real estate franchise for capturing all the dollars in real estate. Land is just a solid investment no matter what angle you look at it from. It’s probably one of the best things you could invest in today. Energy prices continue to soar and there’s probably some money there too, but you can’t always count on the energy market to be like it is now and the real estate market is just going to continue to surge ahead. I don’t own any land right now, so I guess my first step would be to buy that first piece of property that I could hang on to and see what the future value of it might be someday. I’m sure it would be worth more 10 years from now and I would eventually want to buy more than just one piece of land. If I had the money today, I wouldn’t be worried one bit to go and buy several pieces of land and perhaps owning my own little real estate franchise!

Petrino Says Good Bye to the Falcons

Mr. Petrino wrote out a short message and then had it copied and sent it out to all the members of the Atlanta Falcons. He resigned as the coach and told them he wished them the best for whatever the future might hold. This came one day after Michael Vick got sentenced to 23 months in prison and the Falcons got blown out by the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night football.

It was funny hearing Arthur Blank talk about Petrino’s ability to handle adversity in that Monday Night football game. He has never handled the adversity well and he was often shouting at his players and the referees during crucial times of the game. He wasn’t somebody the team could ralley behind and Petrino blamed everybody for the struggles of the Atlanta Falcons but his own self.

Now he will be coaching football in a tough SEC division, while trying to stir the Arkansas Razorbacks that won’t have Darren McFadden around next year. I doubt he has much success with Arkansas too, when you factor in just how tough the SEC Division is and that Arkansas doesn’t have a good recruiting program.

Now Arthur Blank just makes one bad decision after another one and it would be nice to see him go. He’s been the biggest thorn in the Falcon’s side, since he has became the owner. He only wants the choir boys in Atlanta and this isn’t the way to build a football team in the National Football League. He needs talent and lots of it and Rich McKay hasn’t necessarily been lighting it up on draft day. A new GM would go a long ways into helping save this organization from the free fall state they find their self in today. Blank has no idea on how to assemble guys around a football team to make them a winner. He proved that on Monday Night football by bragging about Petrino’s ability to handle adversity. He even went as far to say that he was more sure of the man he hired now, then he was when Petrino was first given the reigns to this team. You could tell right away that Petrino was not going to be successful in the NFL and luckily he left, and didn’t have the opportunity to muck it up again next year.

Blank continues to hire people that are young and that might be the coach for a long time with the Atlanta Falcons. This is a poor method and you should hire the best man for the job. When it becomes evident that your new coach isn’t going to work, you need to release him immediately and find somebody else. It’s through this process that you will eventually land a big time coach and can run your football team over the next decade or longer. Bill Cowher and Marty Schottenheimer are already being mentioned as the new Falcons coach for next season. As of right now the Falcons have a new coach and he should be given the opportunity to see what he can do with the team. Emmit Thomas is black so his hiring prevents the Falcons from breaking the NFL rules on interviewing a coach that is in the minority. You must interview a coach that is from a minority before you can hire a new coach. This process in itself is racial and I am surprised no one has changed it yet.

It’s time to rebuild in Atlanta and while getting a new owner might be a long shot, they better start with the GM and then work on acquiring as many draft picks as possible. Their desires to go get free agents in the off season would be a disaster in the making if the Falcons decide to take this route. They will become an 8-8 team and be bound for average for a long time. Get draft picks, don’t sign free agents and lose your GM Falcons!
