The talented Mr. Crowder did a short film that is titled Brokeback Kitchen and it’s a lot like another popular movie that had a couple of cowboys that got friendly. Brokeback Mountain is a film that got a lot of attention drawn to it, by the scenes in it that involved a couple of guys that had feelings for one another. Now Jordan’s film puts a twist in it and he displays his own version at YouTube.
Now that is just one of the many short films that Jordan Crowder has on display. His short films are all put together so nicely and you can see in Brokeback Kitchen that it looks just like the trailers for the big Hollywood movies. It’s just a matter of time until Hollywood does snatch him up and he’s in L.A. producing movies for all of us to go and see at the theaters.

It looks like 2007 is behind us and a new year is on the horizon. I had a pretty good year in 2007, but I hope 2008 is much better! I guess this is the time we start making those new year resolutions. I know today many people will be claiming to never smoke again, drink alcohol or probably the most popular one, to lose weight! All of those bad habits we have we try to put a stop to them at midnight tonight. Some will break their commitments on New Year’s Day; while others will make theirs last for a few days. I see no problem with making a new year’s resolution and then breaking it soon after. At least you try and the amount of time that you can go without a bad habit is the better person it makes you and you probably get some health benefits from it too.
I think a good new year’s resolution for me would be to watch less television. I spend a lot of time watching tv and if I could cut out some of my time in front of the tube and made better use of that time, I could get so much more done. Let’s start with the AFC and see if the home teams have any advantage there. It is tough to go into Pittsburgh and get a win in fron of those Steeler fans, but look for the Jacksonville Jags to do just that. Jacksonville will move on in the playoffs, while the Steelers will play their last game of the season.
The Browns traveling out to San Diego should prove to be a good game. This looks like one that could be a high scoring affair. If LT can get yards on the ground, I like the chances of the Chargers to be able to control the tempo. They must contain Braylon Edwards to be successful, but I will take the Chargers by a field goal in this one. The Cleveland Browns end their season in California.
Now on to the NFC match ups, where we start out in Seattle. Man those fans in Seattle are loud and they are sure to have a part in this game. The Washington Redskins were lucky just to make it into the playoffs and I think their luck is gonna run out next weekend. The Seattle Seahawks had a great tune up game with the Atlanta Falcons and that will carry over into next week as they should easily take care of the Redskins. Seattle Seahawks will advance in the playoffs by 3 touchdowns here.
Now we have Eli Manning trying to go down to Florida and get his team a big win in the South. Eli was just a little too happy in his performance against the Patriots and I’m not sure why, since they lost the game and was the last hurdle in the New England Patriots perferct season in 2007. Tampa Bay has one of the toughest defenses in the NFL and these guys are hungry. They will eat the Giants offense alive and the Giants won’t manage to get in double figures against the Bucs. I see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beating the N.Y. Giants by a score of 33 to 9. Giants can just go ahead and plan a vacation to Flordia, since they will already be in the sunshine state. Tampa Bay will advance next weekend and don’t expect them to get stopped anytime soon, as this team has Super Bowl talent!

Did the Atlanta Falcons make a mistake in the 2008 NFL Draft in 2007? I think the Falcons might have just missed a golden opportunity at one of the top players in the 2008 NFL Draft. They finished their season by beating the Seattle Seahawks in the last game of the regular season. The Seahawks sat out some of their questionable players for the game and that was enough for the Falcons to get a win at home.
Now one of the players the Falcons could have landed was Darren McFadden out of Arkansas. Many felt he would be there at the 2nd spot in the draft for the Falcons to take so they could replace the veteran Warrick Dunn. Dunn has annoucned he will back for next season, but he might not be in a Falcons uniform. McFadden would have been a solid addition to the Falcons offense, along with Randy Moss who the Falcons hope they can snag during free agency. The Atlanta Falcons will have the top offer in terms of money to offer for Moss’s services in Atlanta and don’t be surprise if Bob Sanders from the Indianapolis Colts also lands in Atlanta next year too.
The Falcons win will probably leave them out of the Darren McFadden sweepstakes and you might see the Falcons trade down and just take a QB in the late first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. A lot of good quarterbacks will be in this draft and someone will be there for the taking in the late 1st round. I would have to say Andre Woodson from Kentucky looks like a good bet on who the Falcons might add to their team for next year. So Falcon fans might have to give up hope on Darren McFadden, but Randy Moss and Bob Sanders could both be picking up paychecks in Atlanta next year!

Josh Smith for the Atlanta Hawks deserves to be in the 2008 All Star Game. He is the main reason the Atlanta Hawks are doing as well as they are this year. They don’t have many players on that team and even without a supporting cast, Josh Smith is carrying the Atlanta Hawk’s on his back for a playoff appearance in 2008. He is 2nd right now in the league in block shots and plays well at both ends of the court. He is a very exciting player and deserves to showcase his talents in the 2008 All Star Game.

Did everyone enjoy all the tech gadgets they got this year for Christmas? It seems the instructions get longer each year and wrote in more languages too! I was amazed at all the parts, wires and fiber optic cables that came with some of these products. Setting up a new computer use to be pretty easy, but now it’s not so simple. There’s a lot more than just taking it out of the box and plugging it into the wall. You have to make sure all your programs are working properly that have been pre-installed and then you have to hook up your printer, all the high speed internet cables have to be hooked up and hopefully you can surf on the internet the same day you start setting up your new computer. Some of the video game systems are the same way too and you have a lot of cables, wires and instructions that you have to go through, before you can sit back and enjoy playing. I just hope I can stay on top of all the technology advances that are being made each day. I just wonder what next Christmas has in store for the technology gadgets.
The 2007 football seasons for Georgia and Hawaii were both very impressive. Hawaii has yet to lose a game, but may be facing their toughest opponent of the year. The Georgia Bulldogs will blitz the team from Hawaii and while Hawaii might have success early in the game, look for that to drop off after the quarterback gets knocked to the turf a few times. It’s hard for offenses that pass a lot to play a team from the South Eastern U.S.A, because they hit the quarterback a lot and they hit hard too.
I would expect the quarterback from Hawaii, who is the much talked about Colt Brennan have a hard time on New Year’s Day. I will say that he throws for more yards in the first quarter, than he does for the next 3 quarters combined. He’s going to start giving the ball up sooner and throwing the ball before the wide receivers are finished running their routes. This will be due to the pressure from the Georgia Bulldog defense. If Georgia picks off a few passes and returns them for touchdowns, this game could get ugly. Head coach Mark Richt for the Bulldogs plays a very slow and not too agressive offense and the score should stay close if Hawaii limits their turnovers. The big story of this game will be Colt Brennen getting sacked or knocked down and how many turnovers they cough up.
If Hawaii has 1 turnover or less and Colt Brennen gets sacked 2 times or less, and maybe only gets knocked down after the pass a couple of times, then Hawaii comes out of New Orleans with a descent score posted on the scoreboard for this year’s Sugar Bowl.

Now if Colt Brenned gets sacked more than 3 times and knocked down over a dozen times, with a few turnovers, this game will be decided early and there will be no need to play 4 quarters.

Either prediction, I see the Georgia Bulldogs posting at least 33 points on the scoreboard. So if the high power offense from Hawaii can muster up more than 33 points, they could make this a close game.
Will someone please sing Jingle Bells with Alisa Apps? That is what she tries to do in this video she has at You Tube. Alisa Apps is a uniquely talented singer and song writer and she tries to spread the Christmas spirit at one of the busiest shopping districts there is. Her good gestures take place at the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade and you won’t believe the people she runs into. She had a hard time at first, but soon people warmed up to her charm and she was able to get a few notes of Jingle Bells on camera.
Now Alisa Apps has recorded this over at YouTube and she would like to hear other YouTubers singing the Jingle Bell song. Do you remember the old Coca Coal commercials? Coke did a commercial back in 1970 called “I’d Like To Buy the World A Coke”. This was a pretty popular commercial for it’s time.
Now one of my favorite Coke commericals was done back in 1979 when Mean Joe Greene of the Pittsburgh Steelers was limping to the locker room and he got stopped by a young boy.
Those are some of my favorite old Coke commericals. They are probably some more that I just don’t remember. Since it’s the Christmas time of the year, here’s another great Christmas commercial for the holidays!
I know I will go say good bye to my friends and family that are still at my house and I will take a short walk to my bedroom. I will fall down on the bed and throw some blankets over me and sleep away the rest of Christmas Day. I know after you eat a big meal, you’re suppose to go walk around or do something to help burn those calories off of you. I just can’t do it on the big dinners for Christmas and Thanksgiving. I always enjoy my naps after those big holiday meals.
I will probably gain a few pounds, but I can work them off later. Maybe I can just take some diet pills after I eat and they will help me burn off a few pounds. They might wake me up, so I might have to wait until my nap is over with, before I take any pills for losing weight. I don’t treat my body bad like this all year long; I just make exceptions when it comes to the holidays.
One of my favorite cartoons (next to the Simpsons) is the Family Guy. If you have never seen this cartoon before, you owe it to your self to sit down and watch it one day. You will laugh and laugh some more. It’s a great cartoon and I never really thought it was that funny, when it was originally aired. I got the chance to watch some of the shows after they were in syndication and I haven’t stopped yet.
The charcters is what makes the show go. The little town they live in, is called Quahog, Rhode Island. Peter Griffith is the man of the household and he reminds me of Al bundy in some ways with a little Hommer Simpson in him. Lois is Peter’s wife and she’s a hoot too! The kids are Meg, Chris and the loveably Stewie. The Griffith’s dog is Brian and he talks too!
Just a great cartoon for the adults to sit back and watch sometime. If You have neer seen Family Guy, then just stop everything you’re doing right now and go find it on the tube. It’s guranteed to make you laugh!!
