Now there is one song that comes to mind when I first hear the words “Guns N Roses”, so I’m probably sure you have a song in your mind right now. Is it the greatest song they ever done? You can’t mistake this song for any other, because when you hear the guitar start this song off, you know right away what it is. It’s one of the most familiar guitar solo introductions that has ever been recorded in rock music. I think Dire Straight’s song Money For Nothing has one of those guitar solo introductions that is really good. This GNR song is right up there with Dire Straight’s song and is more popular due to the fact that Guns N’ Roses had more success.

I would really love to see GNR get back together but I’m not sure if we will ever see that. It seems Axl and Slash just don’t get along too good these days and probably by the time they are old and much more forgiving, they will be too old to put out anything good. Heck, I might be too old to want to listen to anything like that either!

No one could have imagined just how successful this band that formed in Los Angeles, was going to be on the rock scene. When they did arrive on the scene there was more of a glam metal that was taking to the airwaves on radio. GNR put a much grittier version of this out and the fans loved it, because they had never heard anything like their style. There was no band bigger from 1988 to 1993. These were the golden years from the greatest band ever and man did they ever put out the music in those 5 years. They just didn’t rest on the previous songs they had done, they kept the gas pedal of success press to the floor as they charged through the world in those 5 years.

Actually Axl is still a part of Guns N Roses, but he is the only one of the original members that remain. If you count his start in 1985 then you can say he’s been the lead singer for over 20 years now. However, it’s not the 20 plus years that is important here, because it was the 5 years when the band was all together and ran like a well-oiled machine that put them on top of the world. They are already the greatest band ever in my opinion, it’s unthinkable if these guys would have stayed together another 5 years, just how much control their music would have over the radio today.

I recently seen someone talking about a traffic exchange and calling them worthless. I was curious to what made that person say a statement like that. I have always heard there is no such thing as bad advertising. The more the merrier is the way I always looked at it. Now when I researched what this person was trying to promote, made me realize more of why they had such a negative opinion on traffic exchanges.

Now the person was selling an item and was wanting people to buy their product from the traffic exchanges. They expected people that were signing up for free traffic exchanges, just so they could promote their own product or service was going to buy their product from them. Well it does happen like that sometime, but if that’s your advertising gameplan, then you aren’t going to do to well in promoting your product or service.

The person might want to realize other benefits a traffic exchange has, instead of just wanting people to buy directly off their sales page. Getting your website on the search engines is key to your success online. It’s the best way to achieve maximum exposure for your product. Also when someone is looking for your product, where will they go? Will they use the search engines? Yes, they use them a lot to find things they want to buy. So someone does a search, they usually go to one of the pages that is on the first page of the search engine results. If your page is not on that first page, then you are going to have problems.

What the person might want to realize is that the “worthless traffic exchanges” can help you get visitors, hits, and just overall traffic to your website. It’s these things that the search engines take into account when ranking your website for whatever keywords you have encrypted into your webpage’s meta tag. So traffic exchanges actually play a valuable role in the success of websites. Bobby Petrino was quick to point out where the problems in the Atlanta Falcons were. Apparently Joey Harrington holding the ball too long is the cause for the Falcon woes this year. The team is off to a horrid 0-2 start and have only managed to get 1 touchdown on the year. They say you get more bees with honey and I’m not sure if Petrino is laying out any honey.

I do see some things that Joey Harrington can do better, but I also see about 52 other players on this team that could use some touch-ups too. It’s nice to see receivers catching the ball in Atlanta and that wasn’t always the case with Michael Vick in control. He liked the tight end in Alge Crumpler, but finding a receiver that had more than 1 catch in a Falcon’s game was pretty much non-existent in Vick’s era. So let’s give Joey some credit and not all the blame.

The Falcons have acquired Byron Leftwich this week and will add some depth at quarterback for the Falcons. Now if you’re keeping track at home, the Falcon’s now have Warrick Dunn, Joey Harrington, Byron Leftwich, and Joe Horn all on their offensive attack. All of these players were playing on other NFL teams and those teams didn’t think they were worth keeping around. You have to put a strategy like this into play, when your GM Rich McKay isn’t the sharpest GM on draft day. His poor drafting has led the Falcons to take other team’s garbarge because he can’t get solid NFL players to the ATL.

There is plenty of blame to go around. It might be helpful for the coaches and owner to take some of it their self and quit trying to dish it out onto other people. The Falcons problems are not correctable and the team needs to rebuild from the ground up. The sooner they realize this, will be the sooner the good folks in Georgia can root on a winning pro football team. I have the Falcon’s picked to win 1 road game this year and to win 4 at home. That’s a 5 win season, but realisticly I might just be too much of a fan and this team might win fewer games than that. I also might try taking my own advice and quit blaming the lousy coach and GM and look what I as a fan can do for my team. So maybe I need to hold that rabbit’s foot on Sundays the whole game, instead of just having it by my bag of tater chips!

Well the controversial show had its debut last night and it was something different to watch on tv, that’s for sure. The show is called Kid Nation and they get 40 kids together and put them out in the middle of no where. It’s a place where life has failed before from adults and now we get to see if kids can thrive in this place in New Mexico.

In the show the kids don’t get to vote each other off, so it’s different from other reality shows. The kids can stay as long as they want and every 3 days there is a town hall meeting and the kids can decide then if they want to leave or not. Also at these town hall meetings the kids get to discuss all their situations and the town council gets to pick one lucky person to receive a gold star. The gold star is worth 20,000 dollars in real money that the kids will be able to have after their 40 day adventure.

I like the show in terms that it is something different to watch on tv. It is a reality show, but it’s one with a unique twist and makes it worth watching from that standpoint. I’m not sure how many people will continue to watch this show all season long, but I would say they had a big audience last night to show their product to. Not a lot of good things were on television last night in the 8PM slot, so Kid Nation got seen by many. I do think the show might have gone a little too young in their participants and that might be what turns a lot of people away from the show. I think if they would have focused on high school age kids, the results could be a lot better. Maybe taking 5 girls and 5 boys from the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade would be a better cast of characters, than the whiney bunch they have now. Don’t get me wrong, I realize the conditions are tough, but the first night of the show, when the temperatures dropped at night and they were hungry, a lot was ready to quit then. I am only left to believe that the shows producers and people working behind the scenes has made life much more comfortable for them now, because the attitudes had changed tremendously on day 2.

I have got the DVR set to record all episodes of Kid Nation as of right now. I will watch another show or two, but I have my doubts if I will watch the full season of Kid Nation. Great idea by CBS, but I think the cast is a little too young for the conditions they are facing. So much so, that controversy has been preached from a lot of levels and many of the parents can’t comment right now, because of confidentiality agreements they have made with the show. Should be interesting to get the parents take on this show, once the season has ended.

Just how fun is it to be in California? So many people living in such a large state and seeing some of the most famous people in the USA and the world living in California, leaves one to wonder what California has? Maybe the riches in Malibu, the thriving business in L.A., or is all the fun in Southern California?

I’m  sure with major colleges in the Southern Area of California, that there has to be a lot of fun that goes on in the sun and in the nightlife. The San Diego area is thriving with fun and they have a lot of nightlife entertainment to take advantage of. So many great places to eat and enough nightclubs to have a party at each night of the week. I’m sure while they are rooting for the Chargers, Padres, and Trojans, the San Diego residents have plenty of places to go to and celebrate their team’s win. I just wonder what club or restaurant has the best results, from a successful season by one of their sport’s team? Anyone that thinks they have a business or establishment that is idea for fans to go to after a big win on the sports field, probably would want to consider the San Diego area. All the teams in Southern California are expected to do well right now and I’m sure a lot of shop keepers are licking their chops now at a Super Bowl, World Series, or maybe just a college championship sports team, for their sales to skyrocket. Even if they don’t win in Southern California, it’s still ranks as one of the best places to go for fun!

Everyone has a list, ranking, or a poll these days and compare things, people, events, and anything else they choose to. You see more and more polls appearing on websites and television these days. I admit they are fun to look at, but are rarely accurate. You see a sport’s team poll on their own website asking how well do you think they will fare this season. In most cases the team is going to have a great season based on the poll results. Now if you ask that same question on an opposing team’s website, then you would probably learn from that poll that the team isn’t going to have a great season. The truth usually falls in the middle and both polls end up being wrong. So it’s fun to see who is on top of a list or a poll, but you have to be wise and understand that just what people hope for or want, aren’t going to be what’s in store in the future. You can even see a list with celebrity plastic surgery just to show you how these lists and polls have no ending in sight. Just because some of us don’t put a lot of faith in these list and polls don’t make them wrong. After all how are our politicians and local sheriff in the jobs they are in today?  

Does that title grab you? It was a line in a song by Dire Straight. I think we know that money doesn’t come to us for nothing and the chicks or ladies do cost us a little, right guys? Well I’m still waiting to get paid my big paycheck in life. I know most people will never make a million dollars in their lifetime and I guess I am looking to fall in that group of people, unless something happens soon!

How nice would it be to win a major lottery? I’m sure we have all thought about it and how we would spend our winnings. I’m learning that most people don’t stick to their dreams that win the lottery. The people that go into great detail about what they would do with winning the money often don’t do all those little things and learn of other things they can do with the money, once they have it in their possession. So don’t get too carried away with what you would do with your lottery winnings, because you’re not aware of some things that exist out there now. Once you become someone with money, then different avenues begin to open up for you and you see other things that you want to go for, instead of the dreams you had before the lottery.

Now I’m sure people that are already loaded with more money then they will ever spend, could help you with these hidden opportunities for poor people. You could take a look at Jr. Lindemann on Wiki or any of the other billionaires that exist out there for helpful advice. Now you might not have a lot of luck contacting these people directly, but you can read their stories. We all have stories and in our stories we are all the main character. See what happens to a story when the main character is a billionaire. It’s really fascinating to see how some of these guys got their money and what they are doing with it today. The lottery won’t award you billions, but you will find that the richest people in the world do things that a millionaire could afford. That might sound funny, but it’s true. If you continue down the scale, then you have millionaires doing what the next level of people under them could afford. It all trickles down to where we are at and if we really wanted to do some of the things the richest people in the world do, we can do it!

Now the richest people in the world might could do some of these things every weekend and we might be limited to only doing it for one weekend, because we would have to save up for a year to do it. The overall point I am trying to make, is that we can do a lot of things that the rich and famous do, if we really wanted to do some of those things. It would take effort, devotion, and the commitment of saving over a long period of time, but the opportunity exist for you or anybody else that is wanting to live like a millionaire or billionaire. It might be only for a short time, but you can still get the taste of it. Or maybe we will all just get lucky and our numbers will come out in the lottery one day!

The women are showing up to more and more games in the NFL these days. Now does these women go looking for the men? Do they actually like the game and watch every play and know what’s going on? Is this just the coat-tail effect and they go to the games with their husbands and boyfriends? Whatever the reason might be, there is little doubt they are showing up more in the stands at NFL arenas.

Now obviously they can’t be going to watch the games for the same reason as some men. You know the ones that go for the hot cheerleaders or dance teams the NFL teams have these days. Then again, it is modern times and I do think we have a lot of bi-curious females out there. Ok, so we have more women at the games. Just what team should fear this the most? Well it looks like there isn’t much to do in Steel Town and the women from Pittsburgh are the ones showing up at the games and claiming to be die-hard Steeler fans. Now this is understandable that the organization has had one of the most loyal fan bases of any sport and that effect is sure to carry on over to the gals. Another boring town on the radar is Green Bay and they rank 2nd on the list of most women claiming to be fans of the Packers. If you live in Green Bay or Pittsburgh and you’re a female, then let me know if you claim to be a fan of your team. I would like to know just how hardcore of a fan you’re?

So those are some pretty interesting stats and to see the Washington Redskins leading in so many categories is interesing. I would have guess the big salary guys per year would be the Seattle Seahawks. The Mexicans I would have figured for the San Diego Chargers. The most black people I would figure the Atlanta Falcons or New Orleans Saints.

I would like to see if these stats held up in other sports too. I just wonder if fan base has anything to do with these stats. All stats were given in a percentage stat and teams with more fans would have more chances to score a talley in the stat column.

I guess going back to the topic and women being football fans. I guess that is alright by me, I guess we need someone to go grab us a cold one or some snacks so we don’t miss any of the action! However, before I give any women the credit of being a fan, I would like to test her on some football knowledge or at least her hometeam. I like to know that they are really football fans and just didn’t answer yes for the survey purposes. I’m sure you Steeler women know that Big Ben owns a motorcycle and which player was known as the Bus, but do you know the name of the little white kid that Mean Joe Greene threw a T-shirt to in the Coke commercial?

Has there every been a movie than ran chills up ya more than Rambo? Maybe Rocky? Oh wait, that’s the same actor as Rambo. I guess Sly Stallone just has something in his make up; that we like to see all the odds against him and then watch him kick butt to being an awesome fighting machine.

I think some of the lines in Rambo are priceless and you see other movies trying to copy it. Remember the governor of California when he was an actor? He had that movie Commando and they try to copy the Rambo lines in that movie. Made Arnold look like the bad man on the block, it was a good movie; but copying Rambo lines gave it a little of a thumbs down for me.

“He would eat things that would make a billy-goat puke”, didn’t just hearing that line in Rambo let us know that Rambo was a bad dude? You just knew somebody was going to get hurt after all the lines that were said about Rambo in the army tent; and it wasn’t going to be Rambo. “I’m going to be sending in 200 officers after him”; “well if you plan to send in that many, you better have a good supply”; “a good supply of what?” “bodybags!”. I’m sure that isn’t the exact quote, but I’m close when the army dude was trying to warn the Sheriff that Rambo would kill the men you sent in after his butt.

Rambo went out in the woods and pulled a “Eric Rudolph” and showed his survival in the woods to those cops that were trying to track him down. He was sharpening sticks and having them catapult right in the mid-section of the pigs that were trying to get him. Man, you just don’t mess with those dudes from the military and especially the ones that were in Vietnam. They just have that extra toughness about them and that crazy side which makes them the perfect killing machine.

Now the 2nd and 3rd parts to the Rambo story were good, but it’s hard to beat the first movie in a sequel. Rambo 1 was so good; they just really couldn’t make it any better than that one. Now I haven’t seen the first Rambo in quite sometime. I think I will look for it on satellite, so I can be sure to sit down and watch it the next time it comes on.

Who wants to buy me a Sean Taylor Jersey? I need someone to; because I would look sharp in it! He also wears my favorite number of 21; which makes owning his jersey even more desirable. Be sure to get my email if you would like to donate that Sean Taylor Skins Jersey to me!

There are other Authentic Redskins Jerseys I wouldn’t might having either. Clinton Portis looks healthy and this might be his year. I’m curious to see if Portis will stay healthy and have a 1,000 yard season. I’m sure if he can play in at least 12 games, he will put those numbers up and then some. I think the Portis jersey would look nice in my NFL collection of jerseys too.

Now the Skins manage to win their first game this year by just a field goal. I hope that playing in a good-close game like that will carry on over to Monday Night. The stage is all set for the Redskins to go into Philly and try to steal a win on the road. It’s gonna be a tough game for them on the National Stage, because it’s hard to win in Philadelphia. I think Donovan McNabb will have trouble passing with Sean Taylor, Fred Smoot, and Shawn Springs running around in the Redskins secondary. The Skins have a good core of young guys on defense; I just believe they are going to need more offensive explosions to win 10 games this year. I have them winning 10 games and if Antwaan Randle El can keep the big games up, the Redskins might just be a playoff team this year. He is a lot like Portis and when he gets the ball in his hands, he’s capable of taking it to the house. So they have to focus on offense, and give the playmakers as many opportunities as possible. The defense is still going to be the backbone of the team, but they have to score points to win games.

I’m excited about the Monday Night Football Game and I’m hoping my fantasy football team can keep the score close on Sunday and Clinton Portis can give me the lead on Monday Night. I don’t have any Redskin apparel or I would be wearing it Monday for the big game.

They do have the Sean Taylor and Clinton Portis Jerseys in stock! I’m not sure all the players they have right off, but I did see the Campbell, Cooley, and Moss Jerseys too. I know the die-hard fans are going to want that Jason Cambell Jersey that has the 75th anniversary patch on it. It’s a sharp jersey and I think that will be a big-time collector’s item for anyone who decides to pick that one up. The Official Store also had some of the tee shirts and hats for the 75th anniversary and they were under 20 bucks! Hurry up and get your orders in so you will have your entire Redskin apparel bought, before they come back home against the Giants! I think Eli Manning might miss that game, so if the Skins win Monday Night Football, they could be 3-0 when the bye week gets here!

I love this time of the year. Those long summer days are coming to an end and the first week after Labor Day is when our local fair comes to town! I have always loved the fair and it was a highlight of mine growing up as a kid. Now that I’m older, I still like to see the bright lights and the smell roll to town that comes along with the fair.

I know the rides might not be too safe with all of those tatoo guys putting them together, but the fair is more than just the rides. It’s the chatter in the air and seeing all the different games. I like to watch people spend money and try to win prizes and some of those games are tilted to the house’s favor. Even the ones that are clearly rigged, you always have someone that thinks they can win at it. Do you know the one where they have 3 bottles you have to knock down with a baseball or softball? Now it can be done, but you have to hit the 3 bottles in the dead center. The bottles are weighted down with lead in the bottom and they don’t turnover easily. Usually your throw will knock one or two down, but getting all 3 is hard to do. The trick in this game is try to throw softer and aim for the dead center more. You don’t have to throw the ball in there a 100 mph to get them to all fall down. Just a good acurate throw in the center will bring them down. Just throw your ball in there at about 20 or 30 mph; instead of giving it all you got.

Now I know sometimes we have a lady friend that might be around and we have to show out for them. So any games that involve throwing a ball or slamming a sledgehammer down, we want to go all out on. I always like the basketball games too and spent a lot of money on those. A few will be fair, but most of the time you have a small rim and trying to throw a full-size basketball threw it. It can be done, but just takes a good shot with a nice arch coming down perfectly in the center of the rim. Let me know some of your favorite games you like at the fair?

I know the food is great too. All the cotton candy, candy apples, and just the smell of hamburgers and hotdogs cooking on a grill somewhere is pleasing to the nose. I hope the weather stays good this year for the fair. Usually we have rain that will come in the same week as the fair and ruins some of the days it’s here for. I just had my wisdom teeth taken out, so I’m hoping I get to feeling better so I can go hang out and enjoy some of the activities at the fair. I guess eating a good candy apple would be out of the question this year.
