Does anybody remember the song Amanda? It was a song by Boston and came out a few decades ago and has been around. I have heard stories of girls that are about 20 years old now that are named Amanda, and they claim that their name came from this song. It’s one of those female songs that has some meaning, and the lyrics Amanda really stick out in it. Just like the song Sherry. Sherry is a song that has a female name that sticks out very strong in the song.

Now I use to date a girl named Amanda. I never had the passion for my Amanda like the singer in this song has. However, I did end up dating her best friend for almost 3 years, so I guess I did have an Amanda-like passion for her best friend. Her name wasn’t Amanda though, but maybe when I hear the song Amanda, I can just think about her best friend and how much I loved her? Well it’s something to think about. It’s like nobody knew the name of the candy bar, so they just had to call it Whatchamacallit, however that is actually the name of the candy bar. I haven’t seen any new commercials fot this product in years.

Hershey’s is the company that produces the candy bar. This is a candy bar that has peanut flavor crisp, caramel, and is coated in a yummy chocolate. It’s strange because the candy bar has been around a long time now, and it appears will be here for a lot longer. I just wonder why they have failed to advertise for this candy bar anymore. A few generations have grown up without having any commericals for the candy bar. I just wonder what the younger generation thinks when they see this candy bar or if they even know what that long “W” word actually says. I think Hershey could benefit from some new ads for the candy bar that I am glad that it has stood the test of time, as even today I still continue to eat the Whatchamacallit.

Isn’t a fireplace something that you just want to get cozy by and have lots of pillows around you? That’s what I think of when I think about fireplaces. Toasting a few marshmallows isn’t bad either. Now do you have a fireplace in your home? If you don’t then I have a suggestion for the next best thing. Bad Vlad was the man for the night in the 2007 Homerun Derby. It wasn’t a bad homerun derby, but it wasn’t a great one either. The big surprise of the night happen when Ryan Howard didn’t get past the 1st round. They said back in 1999 Ken Griffey Jr. only hit 3 homers in the first round and then came back and won the event then. The rules was different back in 1999 that allowed Griffey to advance to the 2nd round. If Ryan Howard would have been able to stick around longer in this event, I think he might have won it. Guerrero did a great job and hit the ones when they counted and that 503 foot shot was amazing. He got all of that one!

If you stuck around after the show was over, then you got to see the new show on ESPN The Bronx is Burning. That was a pretty good show and I think I will have to watch next week to see what they do with part 2 of the 8 part miniseries. Now one thing that I couldn’t quit thinking about was Barry Bonds. After all they were having the event right in his own backyard. I wonder why he didn’t participate? I think he let his fans down in San Francisco by not participating in the homerun derby. I would have like to seen him bat and we could have seen more balls land in McCovey Cove. I guess he might be saving his magic for the All Star Game on Tuesday Night. I think he will be swinging for the fences in that game, but don’t be surprised to see Brian McCann of the Atlanta Braves win the MVP as the National League will beat the American League 7 to 4! Well that’s my prediction, and I will be watching it. I love the All Star Games.

A great snack when you’re are on the computer and need something to munch on. I really like my Fruity Pebbles cereal. I know, I know your not suppose to eat around the keyboard, but I have my keyboard wrapped in clear plastic. My computer is over a year old and the keyboard looks brand new. I have kept it wrapped in plastic from day one. I had problems with my old computer and the keyboard with it. The keys got to sticking from all the dirt, food, and who knows what else that got down in between the keys. Now I keep it looking great by keeping plastic around it. It’s a little different at first when you start typing, but you eventually get the plastic broke in good enough and you get use to it yourself, that you forget it’s there. Now my keys are in great shape and I get to munch on my Fruity Pebbles while on the computer. Man them Flintstones has some good cereal!

That is a plane I see coming from the guys at Boeing. On Sunday they showcased one of their new planes which is a 787 Dreamliner. This was a very anticipated plane because they have already sold so many of these new planes and just now have built the first one. So Boeing will have plenty of work for it’s workers over the months and years ahead as they try to keep up with the demand of this new Dreamliner.

I think Boeing is a great company to own stock in. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this give Boeing a big spike in it’s stock price this week. Boeing is a leading manufacturer of planes and nobody in the world can produce planes like Boeing. They are a solid company built on great employees that make up the company’s great success over the years. Don’t hold your breath waiting to get a ride on this new Dreamliner. It may still take some time, where there are enough of these planes to give passengers a ride around the world. You will just have to wait in line like everybody else. I know there are more than 600 of these planes that have already been sold and Boeing just now needs to produce these puppies left and right to keep all the customers happy!

Well me and two buddies took off for the mountains last night along with one of their mama’s. We arrived in Cherokee, North Carolina around 10PM on Tuesday Night and made our way to the casino. All three of them got started before I did on throwing money in the machines. I took a little extra time trying to find a machine I felt good with.

After about 30 minutes I found a machine, but it didn’t want to take my money. I didn’t have my comp card in the machine, and unless you put it in, then it doesn’t allow you to put in any money. A nice lady beside my machine gave me some assistance to helping me. Now this was the very first time I had been in the casino at Cherokee, North Carolina. Once I was able to get my 5 dollar bill in the machine, I have the machine one touch to the “bet max” button. It was 25 cents a credit and the max bet was 3, so when I hit the button it was a 75 cent bet. On my very first bet the machine started making some noises and my credits begin to go up. I didn’t know how much I had won, but it kept going up until I had $250 bucks. So it was a nice way to start off the night. Later on, I would end up winning on that same machine a cool $1,250 more on a single spin. So I had a good night in the mountains of North Carolina. Now I had left the house and took $130 with me up to the mountains. I haven’t counted the exact number up yet, but I brung back at least 1 thousand dollars! So it was definitely a fun night out with the boys, that made me money instead of costing me money.

If you are looking to get a satellite dish, then be sure to compare the two companies you have to choose from carefully. DirectTV and Dish Network are the two you have to choose from. I have found Dish Network to be a little cheaper and offer more channels, but they have no customer support whatsoever. If you are looking for good customer support, then Dish Network wouldn’t be a good choice. DirectTV wins the customer service award, but they cost a little more if you are looking to get satellite on 4 different televisions. Dish Network uses 1 receiver to work 2 televisions and DirectTV gives you a receiver for each room. DirectTV will charge you a monthly fee for each one of those extra receivers you get. Just be sure to do your homework and see which company currently has the best Satellite TV Deals. They are always giving away free stuff and free premium movie channels, see which satellite giant is giving the best current promotion, and that would probably be the one you would want to go with. Satellite television is great, I wish it was just a little cheaper than it is, but it’s still a better deal than cable!

What is the best way to make money at the casinos? I don’t have the answers, but I can share some of my personal experiences. There is a game that is called 3 card poker. It’s a stud type of game, where you only get 3 cards. Now you place against the dealer, but the “house” also pays you for pairs, straights, flushes, 3 of a kind, etc… It works just like regular poker. To get a straight, you just need for your 3 cards to be in-line with each other. So a 4 of hearts, 5 of clubs, and a 6 of diamonds would be a straight in 3 card poker. It pays pretty well from the “house” for a straight and then you also play against the dealer. The dealer must have a Jack or Queen in their hand to open. If they don’t have a card a higher than a Jack or no pairs then you don’t play against the dealer. If they have at least a Jack or Queen (depending on where you play at), then they open and if your hand beats them, you win money. So you can win twice and make some nice little payouts. I think 3 card poker is by far the best game at the casinos. It’s the one I have made the most money from, so I think the odds are better if you play 3 card poker. Park West Gallery has the largest collection of fine art in the country. They hold the many works of Al Schreiber. Al had an interesting life growing up on the East Side of Manhattan. This New Yorker got well-versed in sign language at an early age, due to having two parents that were both mute. After serving time in the U.S. Navy it was suggested to Al to put his memories of his childhood on canvas. When he soon learns he could do this, he then began turning out one painting after another.

He had a series that is referred to as the Nostalgia, and this was from all of his memories of growing up in the Big Apple. Later on he would do paintings from his new home life in South Beach.
